We have a great contest
and we want YOU!!!
That’s right. The first ever contest at Wicked Weighs. I know you are all delirious with excitement but we need to give you all the low down first.
First things first. It’s NOT a weight loss contest. Nope. Erin and I felt that doing something like that might encourage you all to do drastic and unhealthy things. Especially since there is a prize involved. This contest is a poetry contest. You may not be a Hemingway or a Bronte but you can certainly knock our socks off. We want you to write a poem about weight loss/dieting. It can be short or long, serious or silly. It can rhyme or be a haiku or a sonnet or....well anyway, just let it rip. You guys have complete creative freedom.
We do have a few rules, just to keep everyone on track:
Poems must be original works written by a registered member of OWW. If you have not yet registered on OWW, ya need to clicky the little link and get that done before you can be eligible. It’s painless and FREE so no excuses.
Poems must be posted on your blog with a link back to OWW. We simply do not have room to house all the entries here.
Once you write your poem and post it at your place, come back here and put a link to it in this entry so we can all go witness your creative genius.
All poems must be posted and linked by January 31 at noon to be eligible for the fabulous prizes.
There will be awards issued for the top 3 choices. 2nd and 1st runner up will receive a beautiful blog badge to display proudly on their site and our top pick will be receiving.....*drum roll please* ....a shiny and beautiful $25 Gift certificate for EBay. (my hope is that you will use it to purchase something to do with fitness and health..but hey, to each his own)
Winners will be selected on the following criteria:
Creativity
Structure and punctuation - make it look pretty on your blog, Erin will be judging this one all on her own, if she can... | | By: Our Wicked Weighs | | |
| | Say NO to Sodas, and YES to Fresh Juices - Drink your way to a Slimmer and Healthier Body!! | | 2007-12-15 18:27:44 | | I know a lot of us rely on sodas to quench our thirst during the day, but the more I look at those soda cans, the more revolted I feel, and wish they would all be replaced by fresh fruit or vegetable juices! The world would be a much more healthier place if only we understood the importance of water and juices. Sodas have incredibly little nutritional value and in addition to that they have huge amounts of sugar, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors that do no good to your body. The sugar will give you a major energy spike, but that will soon wear off, leaving you more tired than you were prior to drinking the soda. This is due to your body burning some of your energy reserves during the spike, without having them properly replenished.Fresh juice (that which comes straight out of a juicer), on the other hand, has large quantity of nutrients, minerals and vitamins, something that your body really needs, and can absorb very easily as they are easy to digest. The water content als... | | By: Fun and Food | | |
