    Should Kiwi replace Strahan?
    2008-06-10 06:00:57
OK, so Michael Strahan has retired. Now what? Do the Giants move Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end, or use Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Renaldo Wynn and whoever else proves worthy? The players are apparently already lobbying for Kiwi to go back to defensive end , his natural position. It doesn't seem to matter to Kiwanuka. “I’ve been through the whole ‘What position are you going to play?’ thing,” he said. “The only way I can approach it is wait until I hear something. But right now I’m a linebacker and that’s the way I’m going to approach the upcoming mini-camp.” OK, Big Blue View Nation. It's now reality that Strahan is gone. Where do you want to see Kiwi play? Vote in the poll. Poll With Michael Strahan having retired, should Mathias Kiwanuka stay at linebacker or move back to defensive end? Linebacker Defensive End   2 votes | Results

How to Peel a Kiwi Fruit? - The simple and easiest way.
    2008-06-02 10:38:00
When I was browsing through Foodbuzz, I came across this excellent and useful video. It was by Atomic shrimp. The easiest way to peel a kiwi fruit - This was the title and no wonder it caught my attention as I usually struggle peeling kiwi. I assumed that it is going to be one more video using a special peeler or is an advertisement for a kitchen product. Though I was having a lot of hesitation, the title urged me to watch the video. I have embedded the video that atomic kitchen has uploaded. Wa

    Kiwi: Where should he play?
    2008-05-20 06:00:01
Between now and Week 1 against the Washington Redskins, I'm sure we will spend lots of time discussing this. Since Yahoo! Sports brought it up , though, let's talk about where Mathias Kiwanuka plays if Michael Strahan retires. It would seem natural that Kiwanuka, drafted as a defensive end, would move back to his natural position if Strahan hangs up his spikes. Not so fast, though. This is what defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo had to say n the topic of Kiwanuka. "If Michael does retire, I think we’ll try to leave Kiwi at linebacker. That was the original plan and he was growing into the position. Of course, in case of injuries, guys move around. And in our defense, he might be on the line now and then, but I would like to keep him as a linebacker." If Strahan retires and Kiwanuka goes back to end, it's a move I certainly would understand. I hope it doesn't happen, though. Despite his early struggles last season I maintain that Kiwanuka can be a tremendous force at linebac

    Kiwi Teawi
    2008-05-19 19:47:00
One of the great travesties in beverage history, right up there with New Coke, is the decision by Snapple to discontinue their phenomenal Kiwi Teawi. It didn't quite taste like tea, and it certainly didn't really taste like kiwi, but damn it, it tasted delicious. At my peak, I was probably drinking eight to ten of these wondrous thirstquenchers on a weekly basis. Why Snapple? Why did you put the kabosh on this terriffic tea? Were sales sagging? Or was it that you simply wanted to sap a little bit of joy out of my life? Well, you succeeded. My tongue and I miss the taste of Kiwi Teawi everyday!Snapple, if you're out there, please consider bringing back Kiwi Teawi. You won't be disappointed, since I will probably buy every bottle that gets stocked on local store shelves.

    Kiwi (2006)
    2008-04-21 02:29:59
Kiwi was created by Dony Permedi, a student in the New York City School of Visual Arts, as his Master's Thesis Animation, with music composed and performed by Tim Cassell.Originally the main character wad going to be a chicken but Permedi found it an obvious choice. So he created Kiwi. The animator's story is that of a kiwi bird who has a dream (he aspires to fly) and is willing to do anything to see it become a reality. This charming short is simple yet so powerful that it sticks in your subconsc

    Kiwi, stay long…for now…

Kiwi won't be easy to replace
    2007-11-21 05:30:45
With Mathias Kiwanuka on injured reserve after breaking leg Sunday against Detroit, how will the Giants replace him? Kiwanuka's athleticism and ability to play linebacker and be a pass-rushing force off the defensive line have been a key tot eh defense. His value goes beyond his 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks. At linebacker the Giants will likely use Reggie Torbor, who has not been impressive in other stints at linebacker, or virtually untested youngster Gerris Wilkinson. Personally, I would like to see what Wilkinson can do. For two years the Giants have said they like his talent. Now it's time to find out if they are right. On the defensive line, that's the end of the four defensive end alignment. Fred Robbins will likely have to play more down at defensive tackle and someone like Russell Davis will have to step up as a fill-in. Unfortunately, no matter how you try to get past it the Kiwanuka injury is a devastating blow to this defense. • The Giants signed fo

    Kiwi Cuvee 2006 Sauvignon Blanc
    2007-09-29 03:34:00
2006Sauvignon BlancFranceWill drink again.Very enjoyble, easily drinkable wine when well-chilled. The scent was of Dijon Mustard meets Granny Smith apple. It's taste was very much tart apple, follwed by a hint of vanilla, then dryness, then . . . mustard. It was good alone and good with take-out barbecue chicken and red onion pizza. No poetry tonight, just the chorus of one of the few 80's songs I actually love very poignantly floating around in my head:"Wish I knew what you were looking for, might have known what you would find."The ChurchUnder the Milky Way Tonight7.5 out of 1012% alc. by vol.$9.99 / 750 mlVin de Pays du Jardin de la France

Kiwi -- should he stay or should he go?
    2007-09-19 03:55:09
Mathias Kiwanuka has struggled to make the transition from defensive end to outside linebacker. The New York Giants placed backup defensive end Adrian Awasom on injured reserve Tuesday, the seventh Giant to go on the list this season. If you're in the 'move Mathias Kiwanuka back to defensive end' camp this is your chance to holler from the roof top. I go back and forth on this. Today, he is a better end than linebacker. If the Giants were a big-time contender, I'd say end the experiment. Yet, I still think that, given time, Kiwi can be a force at linebacker. Even though the pass rush has been anemic, I don't think Coach Tom Coughlin and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo are ready to pull the plug on this yet. At end, Kiwanuka would still have to split time with Osi Umenyiora, Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck -- who has been the Giants best lineman so far. Also, if you move him what have you got for linebackers? Gerris Wilkinson is finally

    Kiwi Food.
    2007-09-06 00:59:00
Today, September 6th … In honour of my friend and fellow-blogger Barbara of winosandfoodies, today I give you a taste of New Zealand’s culinary history. The Edmonds Cookery Book was a marketing exercise on the part of the Edmonds company to promote their baking powder and jelly, and has somewhat iconic status in the country. It is now freely available online. The Director of the online project, Alison Stevenson, says that there are not many families in New Zealand who have grown up without a copy. The online version is the third edition, published in 1914, and like Australian cookbooks of the era, is more English than Antipodean. You wont find barbequed kiwi bird or silver fern salad within its pages. Even if they cooked the same old things from ‘home’, early settlers often gave their dishes ‘local’ names. There is one single recipe with a local name in this little book. It is a scone, really. New Zealand Buns.1 breakfastcup flour1 tablespoonful sugar1

Kiwi Willis Serves Notice to Osaka 1500m Field
    2007-07-06 00:54:00
While many of the favorites to win the men's 1500m run at the World Championships in Osaka this September are off racing in Europe this summer, New Zealander Nick Willis is taking a page from fellow Kiwi Peter Snell's training book. Willis is skipping the European circuit this season to prepare for Osaka:"I've gone to Europe the past couple of years and run some fast times. But I haven't been able to match that same fitness a month later at the Olympics or world championships," Willis said. "So this season I want to make sure I have my best fitness at the world champs rather than waste it in races early on. "Getting fit is not really my problem. Holding my fitness seems to be the issue, so that is the idea behind this." Willis' strategy is in marked contrast to the pack of world-class milers who will be running tomorrow night in the Meeting Gaz de France in Paris, including Bernard Lagat, Mehdi Baala, and Alan Webb. They might run some fast times tomorrow night and over the course

    Kiwi (animação)
    2007-06-16 05:59:00
