| | My destination ROHTANG, the region of snow - icy land a gorgeous landscapes (IV) | | 2008-04-27 09:41:00 | | In continuation...............After a long waiting gradually we reached our destination ROHTANG, the region of snow - icy land. . Ice and ice, a large area was covered with snow on the slope of Routing. We found a pyramid type structure and half circle shaped structure near a KUND named BEAS KUND, all around the area was like a vast snow of ocean suitable for skiing. Sudden clouds covered sometime whole snow area and some times sharp reflections of sunshine on snow seem as milky smoke covering the area. It becomes difficult to gazing the beauty of snow in bare eyes in sunny weather. Sunglass to some extend gives remedy. I had to remove my sunglass for a while to witness natural beauty on large area of snow. But no longer I could, in sharp reflection of sunlight. Stepped in the half circle structure near a KUND which is the famous Beas Kund , the source of the Beas river. The great rishi Vyas performed "Tapa" here during the Mahabharat times. | | Journey Started from Manali for Gorgeous landscapes towards Rohtang - from roof of a bus (I) | | 2007-03-31 13:40:00 | | On 9th July'1994 , I went out of hotel , at about 9am I started my journey to Rohtang Pass from Manali by H.P. truism Department's bus. Many tourists were found here and there in Manali, a lot of tourists among them were started their jouney for Rohtang Pass. No seat was found vacant, I was somehow managed to seat in the front cabin. But just after a while seating in cabin was impossible as the front engine became hot. Along the route river Beas is flowing in our left side at the bottom of green deodar and far trees. River Beas is here taken a wide shape almost approaches to the motor road going to Rohtang Pass. A little ahead was the Nehru Kund where stream is widen through the scattering rocky boulders with flowing milky white water - some spots on the background mountains were covered with white snow and greenly thick trees at the foot of the mountains – is really a exotic scenery to remember.
