Desde el mes de Febrero del año pasado empezaron a salir los primeros prototipos de esta nueva colección de Medicos Entertainment denominada "Figure Legend". Más de un año de torturas, con las mismas imágenes de siempre, y con la duda respecto a un precio definitivo y una fecha concreta de lanzamiento. Felizmente la tienda online Hobby Search resuelve ambas dudas, y suelta algo definitivo: dos de ellas (Pegaso y Aries) serán lanzadas en Junio de este año, al precio de 1500 yens cada figura.

This RPG came to America as The Legend of Heroes, but the game is actually the second in a series of RPGs.

| | I Am Legend Movie Review | | 2008-01-03 16:51:29 | | On this fine New Years Weekend I went and saw a movie. This movie was I Am Legend. There has been a lot of hype over this apocalyptic horror film, so I had to check it out for myself. I would have to say the movie was pretty good. The story is fairly simple, and has been done before. Some scientist invents a magical cure for cancer, but unfortunately it turns out disasterous. Nearly everyone in the world is infected by the virus. The virus doesn't necessarily kill the people, it just turns them into zombie-like creatures. With this scenario, the "last man on earth" attempts to find the cure and to save mankind. Robert Neville (played by Will Smith) is the main character. He was an officer in the army before the virus spread. He and his dog roam through New York City fighting off these creatures to survive. The movie takes no time for introductions and gets right into the action within minutes. Throughout the film there are little flash backs that give a background to the virus spreading, as well as Roberts life. It is a very action packed movie as well. With zombie attacks occuring every 10 minutes or so. The special effects are pretty good. This movie is not for the weak of heart, let me tell you. You will probably jump out of your seat a few times, lots of surprise zombies. Overall a very good movie, it won't be winning any Oscars, but it is good entertainment. The ending made sense, but it felt like they just wanted to end it fast, as the movie is only 1 hour 40 minutes, which by todays action movie standards is quite short. There should be laws against remaking terrible Charlton Heston movies worse than the source movie. Though, given I Am Legend plays a little like Christian Scientist propaganda... I doubt Republicans would do it... even if it did give Heston a legacy besides being a heartless liar (Bowling for Columbine). It’s also interesting how the material appeals so much to Republican leading men. First Heston, then Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to get it made, and now Will Smith. It’s odd....
The movie is one of the stupider films--just in terms of suspension of disbelief... it constantly contradicts itself. Obviously, screenwriters Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman are terrible (Goldsman wrote, for example, Batman and Robin among other attacks on filmic decency). But it’s really, really dumb. Almost impossible to describe how stupid. These jokers don't, apparently, even know what the word 'legend' means and misuse it horribly.

It takes place in a world like ours, but not quite. It has an ending that's is alternately seen as confusing and frustrating. It features an animal in one of the main roles.But I reviewed The Golden Compass a few days ago. (Like you didn't see that one coming.)The truth is, there doesn't seem to be nearly as many people upset about the adaptation of I Am Legend as there are about Compass. This could be because either not many people have read the book or because those that have barely remember it (it was first published in 1954). However, I think this is more due to the fact that the movie has almost nothing in common with the book. As I read and have seen, this movie shares its lineage more with Cast Away and 28 Days Later... than it does with the story of a man who hunted vampire-like beings in mid-70s Los Angeles.Not that that should matter much, except maybe to the book's author, Richard Matheson. The film stands up pretty well on its own two feet, thanks largely in part to the charisma of Will Smith. Though he has more to work with than Tom Hanks ever did (who was stuck with only a volleyball to bounce lines off of), Smith is one of the few stars I can think of in today's Hollywood that can not only hold the screen alone (mostly) for 90 minutes, but keep you more than entertained and wanting even more.
