| no lobby tonight, guys. | | 2008-08-19 08:37:49 | | the time is about 8:30pm at night here in bangkok. ..and it is raining cats and dogs outside my door as I write this post. it's raining so hard, I can hear the rain coming down.yes, it appears the rainy season is finally upon us.from my experience, the heaviest rain of the year in bangkok occurs in august and september. that is one of the reasons why I decided to go to china this coming september.so, the big question is - will I go to the lobby tonight? to the peanut gallery in the back, the answer is no.how do I feel about having to stay in tonight because of the rain. it sucks! BIG time. but I would rather twiddle my thumbs dry in my room than journey out in the rain and get my feet wet. that's a given.anyway, I guess I'll leave you all to your thoughts. I think I'll cook up some padkapow moo over rice to comfort me in my suffering.... | | By: Life of a Lounge Lizard | | |
| | back at the lobby. | | 2008-08-16 17:16:21 | | made it to the lobby tonight. it was a last minute decision. I looked outside to see if it was raining. ..it turned out to be a nice breezy summer night. somewhat like the summer days I used to experience in san francisco way back when.well, anyway, I got to the lobby at around 11:30pm. I was surprised to find the parking lot open with many people walking about. it felt like old times before they had the curfew.the parking lot looked ok. but the thing that was missing was - lounge lizards.there was not one lounge lizard in the soft seats when I arrived at 11:30pm, people. talk about a new low. ..it doesn't get any lower than zero.naturally, I went back out to the parking where there seem to be some action. ..saw craig constantine off in the distance. the bookkeeper was there. saw myoung-ho. most of the girls I know were gone. didn't see gorgeous, the stunner, sweetheart, lady puu, hello kitty, etc. ..did happen to see cutie pie. as always, she had a number of fans follo... | | By: Life of a Lounge Lizard | | |
| | no lobby tonight. | | 2008-06-26 11:14:20 | | the other day, I bought this new computer game. ..SUPREME COMMANDER - FORGED ALLIANCE. and this morning, I finally found the time to install it on my computer...NEED I say more?it was supreme commander - forged alliance ALL DAY. I couldn't get off the computer. having so much fun slaughtering so many robots, and the sort.da brain and harrison ford both called me up to see what was up. and I just couldn't admit that I was having a blast shooting away at all these fictitious enemies on my computer screen.TAKE THAT you son of bitch!!!anyway, todays gone to pot. BUT tomorrow, the plan is to go do ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT sushi over at this place in silom. 240 baht gets you a seat from 11:30am to 2pm. you can eat as much as you want between those hours. my record is about 20 trays. I remember seeing this one japanese guy eat 4 stacks of trays one time. at 20 trays per stack, he ate 80 trays of sushi. INCREDIBLE! I think he must have been the twin brother of that japanese guy that holds the record fo... | | By: Life of a Lounge Lizard | | |

| Obama, Tom Daschle & the Ethanol Lobby | | 2008-06-24 13:44:03 | | IT’S A GAS! It is a good thing Barack Obama is not in bed, snuggling up to lobbyists, or he could be accused of selling out to the corn/ethanol lobby for votes in the mid-west. Evidently Obama used his ties to the ethanol lobby as a spring-board to the mid-western corn states and his POTUS run. He and Tom Daschle, now a lobbyist for the corn-ethanol industry travel together quite a bit in the mid-west. (Daschle says he is not a lobbyist for the industry, but speaks out for them on occasion). According to the NYTimes, Daschle isn’t the ...... | | By: The Pink Flamingo | | |
| | McCain, the Liquor Lobby, & Barack’s Anti-Semitic Friends | | 2008-06-09 00:47:56 | | FOR YOUR INFORMATIONThey’ve found some disgusting anti-Semitism on Obama’s official site that has been officially removed. Same old same old if you ask me. Fortunately cooler heads did a few screen shots so I don’t think they can wriggle out of this. Bill Stevenson has a good posting about the GOP’s efforts to create an energy bill, which was naturally squelshed by the Dems. Jim Fryar tells us that Clint Eastwood is supporting Big Mac! THE NEXT BIG MAC ATTACKThere’s a new Big Mac Attack you should be aware of. The Daily Kos is going to ...... | | By: The Pink Flamingo | | |
| | the lobby was empty tonight. | | 2008-06-05 12:57:14 | | after being gone for about 2 weeks, I was finally able to make it back to the lobby tonight. I expected to see some familiar faces sitting there as it is friday night. but as it turned out, not a single soul was to be found. not a single lounge lizard could be found sitting in the soft seats. ..very odd.I went outside to hang out in the parking lot when I didn't see anyone in the lobby. thank god there were some lounge lizards out there. I saw the bookkeeper, jacques cousteau, and the silver surfer.the silver surfer told me that the scene has been pretty dead since I left for china. we spoke at length about nothing. but alas the silver surfer had to leave to take care of business.the last lounge lizard that I saw for the night was boris. he was gone for 2 months. but back in bangkok now. I mentioned to boris that the lobby doesn't seem to be the same anymore. and he agreed. he then told me that "something" happened nearby that may be the reason for the low turnouts. last ... | | By: Life of a Lounge Lizard | | |

| the lobby was fun tonight. | | 2008-05-16 16:45:12 | | well, after 8 days away from the lobby, I was finally able to make it back for a visit tonight. and would you believe it? I found out that there are a number of lounge lizards back in town.roll call - kaito, the big kahuna, the silver surfer, norman rockwell, DocD, long time jessie, rawhide, general patton, the guru, jacques cousteau, the handsome man, patrick o'brien, the bookkeeper, myoung-ho, timberwolf, nintendo, colonel sanders, sweetheart, candle, snow white...not an all time record for a gathering of lounge lizards. but big enough to call it a posse.I was most surprised to see the silver surfer back so soon. he left thailand about 2 months ago, and was planning on coming back in october. but alas, there he was last night back in the thick of things.kaito was in rare form. he noticed I was yawning a lot, so, he treated me to a cup of hot coffee. another standup lounge lizard.well, that's it for now. time to get some sleep.... | | By: Life of a Lounge Lizard | | |
| | Solar Power could run Hydrogen Economy when Oil Lobby Dies | | 2008-05-13 09:01:00 | | Absolutely Free and Truly Endless Solar Power certainly has a bright future. Nanotechnology is a science field, which is going to profoundly effect the production of Hydrogen and the very beginning of Hydrogen Economy. Hydrogen is energy medium of our future and is going to replace expensive and environmentally dirty oil, coal, deadly dangerous highly radioactive material.Walter Varhue is professor of electrical engineering at the University of Vermont.Try to think how much solar power do we throw away every day, which is delivered to our planet by our sun?We simply do not even think about that immense solar energy, because we are taking it for granted. We rather buy ridiculously expensive oil, than to use vast resources of our empty roofs or other suitable surfaces for solar panels and mirrors to harness solar power.... | | By: Solar Shingles | | |
| | Solar Light Power Every Day no matter the Oil Lobby | | 2008-04-29 02:49:00 | | Solar Light allows us to see, to live and to think. There is more than enough solar light reaching our planet every hour to power all our energy needs, if only we wanted to. Solar light should have inspired Presidents and Prime Ministers and their staff to think only a bit more than usually, tinny bit deeply and profoundly, more long term. This morning BBC presented some news about amazingly high profits, which oil corporations like Shell and BP had been achieved in last 3 months. They earned more than $14 billion profit in last 3 months. This is truly wonderful news, for their godfathers, advisers, shareholders, managers and employees, and ever hungry 'black hole' in the form of government budget. Profit is the main purpose of any business activity, they say. Of course, it is. Without a profit at the end of the financial period, life of any company simply stops and there is a crisis.Oil has become ultra fashionable and ultra profitable commodity in recent years, after the President Geo... | | By: Solar Shingles | | |
| | Oil Lobby controls Solar Power Market worldwide | | 2008-04-22 04:39:00 | | Money makes the world goes round.Power makes the world buys oil at the price of $116 per barrel.Power makes the oil corporations control development of the solar power market. It is so very funny and predictable. Shell and BP, two from the group of the biggest Oil corporations, who are financially more powerful than many smaller world countries together, are totally controlling what is happening in the photovoltaics market. They have just added 'green color' to their names, they have written some new green marketing material, and they are 'promoting' use of renewable energy by selling products from this field. What a spin? What a hypocrisy? The Biggest and the Cruelest Tigers from the oil field arena are playing with innocent sheep, with absolutely no intention to harm it???Do you still believe in ferry tales in 2008? They control the renewable market for the purpose of controlling the speed and the direction of environmental changes in the world. They know very well, that they cannot sto... | | By: Solar Shingles | | |
| | Online travel companies and time shares lobby for tax shields | | 2008-03-18 14:36:00 | | Prodded by lobbyists for online travel companies and time shares, state lawmakers are quietly crafting a package that could ultimately shield those industries from millions of dollars in taxes every year. The package taking shape in the state Capitol, yet to be presented in public, could effectively short-circuit a protracted court battle between Orange County and Internet giants Expedia Inc. and Orbitz Worldwide Inc. over whether the companies are skipping out on sales and hotel taxes. A number of other Florida counties have sued on similar grounds. The package would also provide a tax shield for time-share exchanges, such as occur when one time-share owner trades a week at his or her Lake Tahoe resort for a week at an Orlando resort.Expedia and the American Resort Development Association, a time-share industry group, are among those most closely involved in writing the legislation.

| | By: energy BLOG | | |
