Sullivan’s Latest Rangers Mailbag; Nolan Ryan For President?
    2008-01-29 02:51:59
It’s funny how the wait for a simple word of confirmation from one clueless, doddering old buzzard can seemingly place the entirety of the baseball world in limbo. Peter Angelos, long-time principal owner of the Baltimore Orioles, is reportedly the greatest remaining obstacle to the widely rumored blockbuster trade that would ship left-handed ace Erik Bedard [...]

    Weekly Mailbag
    2008-01-14 15:19:54
Fantastic questions this week!Is Ryan Grant the real deal? - Jay D., BuffaloI think Grant has proved that he is the real deal. He has 209 carries for over 1100 yards since week 8. That's 5.4 yards per rush. Real deal? I think so. I felt bad for Grant after his first two fumbles on Saturday, even questioning my feelings about his talent, but oh did he make up for it after that. A 200 yard performance in the playoffs is absolutely amazing!Do the Ravens stand a chance of improving next year or are they looking at a few years before everything is back to good? - Josh W., BaltimoreThe short answer is, yes! The long answer is much more complicated. There are three key things the Ravens must due this offseason to be able to compete next year. 1. Hire an experienced NFL Head Coach, a rookie won't due. The veteran presence on the team will eat up an new coach. 2. Sure up that offensive line. Ben Grubbs did an okay job his first year out, Jonathan Ogden is done, and the rest, well, they aren't very good. Pittsburgh and Baltimore share something in common - no line! 3. Trade up to draft Matt Ryan. Brian Brohm won't be able to compete right away and Andre' Woodson has a heap of talent but none of it is ready for M&T Bank Stadium. The Kyle Boller expirement is over. If the Ravens can accomplish all three tasks, then yes, they can compete next year.Any shot at Dwayne Wade staying in Miami? - Ricky Z., OrlandoRealistically? No. The Heat are horrible and Wade is a powerhouse. He is premium NBA talent on a team with no drive, no heart, no defining soul. There are a number of teams that are missing just that kind of talent because they have everything else. Chicago for one. The Bulls are young, play with a ton of heart, and even benched their own teammate for conduct detrimental. DWade will be gone sooner than later.

    Carrie Muskat’s mailbag
    2007-12-18 21:18:54
No need for an introduction. Every Cubs fan knows who Carrie Muskat is and unfortunately that woman writes way too much, but it’s a good thing she does her weekly mailbag. Without it, we’d not even know how to laugh. Now that Fukudome has signed with the Cubs, could you please post [...]

Sullivan’s Latest Rangers Mailbag; Loe Ready For Spring Training
    2007-12-18 12:55:07
I’ve got nothing. Well, except for one semi-hot sports opinion: Cowboys safety Roy Williams should have been suspended longer than just one game for his cheap “horse collar” tackle on Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb during Sunday afternoon’s affair at Texas Stadium. What a joke of a player he is. T.R. Sullivan released the latest edition of his MLB.com [...]

Sullivan’s Latest Mailbag; Wright Files For Free Agency
    2007-11-13 02:32:08
As of midnight on Tuesday, November 13th, MLB’s free agency period is officially underway. May the baseball gods have mercy on us all. Monday was another relatively quiet day as far as the Rangers were concerned, but MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan did manage to provide us with the latest edition of his weekly mailbag. And boy, oh boy, [...]

Rockies Wrap Up NLCS; Sullivan’s Latest Mailbag; Rivera A Ranger In ‘08?
    2007-10-16 22:43:14
On the morning of May 22nd, the Colorado Rockies and the Texas Rangers each possessed identical 18-27 records. Both clubs were firmly lodged in last place within their respective divisions, and neither club sat less than seven games out of first place at the time. Fast forward almost five months: during the early morning hours of [...]

Loe Undergoes Elbow Surgery; Sullivan’s Latest Mailbag
    2007-10-10 07:27:36
Good night, New York. And happy trails, Joe. Your dynasty may have crushed the Rangers’ playoff dreams three separate times in the late 90’s, but I’ve always had a certain respect for you. And this isn’t how I wanted to see you go out. Right-hander Kameron Loe has undergone successful arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow, which [...]

NEWSFLASH: Quiroz Called Up; Sullivan’s Latest Mailbag
    2007-09-04 00:43:33
According to Rotoworld, the Rangers have officially purchased the contract of catcher Guillermo Quiroz from Triple-A Oklahoma, and have added him to their 40-man roster. The 25-year-old Venezuelan native was, at one time, a top prospect in the Blue Jays organization. Baseball America ranked Quiroz as the third best prospect in the Toronto organization in their [...]

    From the TCR E-mailbag
    2007-06-25 16:14:13
Well, it’s time once again to dip into the mailbag and answer questions submitted by you, the fine readers and commenters at TCR. Let’s see what’s on your mind, and what I can do about it. Dear Transmission, For the last three and a half years, I was involved in an emotionally intense relationship with another man. You could cut the tension between us with a knife, but we always made it work, thanks to some wild but truly epic games of pitch and catch. In the last few months, however, well, it wasn’t so good anymore. He’d go out when I’d want in, or I’d go down when he was expecting up. Things came to blows a few weeks ago, and while I’ve always had a temper, this was the first time that I ever hit him! I feel horrible about what I’ve done, but now, I’m afraid that I’ve driven him away for good. I think I’ve even driven him to “switch teams.” Please help me, Trans, I’d do anything to get him back.
