| My ancient medieval village | | 2008-08-16 11:15:35 | | I was visiting Bridgette over at the Not-So-Blog Blog where she was inviting her readers to tell her about the places they lived. I am afraid I got quite carried away in her comments section and filled up more than several inches all about the lovely medieval village I am lucky enough to live in. I added the throw away line that I might even do a post about it, and then thought 'Why not?' so......I love living in a medieval village called Kings Norton just south of Birmingham, Englands second city. On the ancient Green stands one of the oldest grammar schools in the Midlands, a 12th-century church and a large 15th-century timber-framed house. The Old Grammar School and the medieval house, known as the Saracen's Head, are buildings of considerable historical and architectural importance and were the winners of BBC Restoration 2004.The Old Grammar School is a wonderful-looking, timber-framed structure. Tree analysis of its huge timbers have revealed a construction date of between 1434 an | | By: Tails of Terror from the Black Lagoon! | | |

| Medieval Magic 100608 Dream Part III | | 2008-06-20 04:27:40 | | I was pretty much only tagging along & not prepared for any battle, wearing only a white cotton robe like folks in ancient Greece minus the on the leaves on my head, of course. We went into a castle. I was relaxed & laid on a table resting on my side, looking at the two knights browsing about the big castle foyer. Read from the beginning. It was then that something crazy happened. The scenario was like something out of a Doom videogame. A big hulk of a man, dressed in Megatron like looking armor suddenly appeared in the room, in a similar fashion of how the two golden knights arrived. However, the sole giant of a man did not come through a cloud of smoke but rather through what looked like a portal of flashing light. Perhaps it is another similar universal warp! | Medieval Magic 100608 Dream Part IV | | 2008-06-18 20:22:59 | | Without hesitation, acting as though the two golden knights were trespassing in the castle, the giant knight was armed with a trident. | Medieval Magic 100608 Dream Part II | | 2008-06-17 04:08:20 | | There were two soldiers that appeared through a universal warp cloud, enabling them to travel from the future to any past age in history. They wore shiny armor which looked like gold but is probably bronze. Read from the beginning. Their armor was similar to Arabian, Turkish, Tatar soldier’s armor in the 12th century. They had curved saber blades, sheathed in ornate bronze, & worn along their waist. Although their weaponry only consisted of their swords, they looked very well protected in full armor. They were on a scouting mission. The two ladies, one blonde & brunette who I frolicked with previously gave one of them a sensuous kiss on the lips & found him to be very attractive. Simply said, I was not amused by the two ladies actions. | Medieval Magic 100608 Dream Part I | | 2008-06-17 04:06:32 | | Another dream last night I want to write about today. It’s more like a slightly adult version of Narnia plus Transformers plus Doom kind of story. The derivative of the dream may have come from my brief reading of Islamic conquest of Italy in the early ages. The starting is kind of blurry for me. The Medieval Magic Dream starts straight into a European castle. Of course, there were quite a few ladies to accompany my character in the dream. Lol. I suspect they may have come from a culmination of the female Swedish dance duo named Kick which I listened to the past few days. *chuckle*. Yeah, you got to listen to their catchy single entitled, Fest Hos Mig!

| Luminox: medieval modernity | | 2007-03-19 01:06:00 | | On Thursday night I left the library at closing time just before 7pm. I walked up Catte Street to unlock my bike and cycle home for dinner. As I was crossing the lane underneath the Bridge of Sighs, I thought "What the fuck?!" as I saw flames coming from the New Bodleian. It was on fire. When I was closer I realized it was a deliberate fire: a huge globe of little flames in flower pots, smoking incense. I stood on the corner outside the History Faculty, drinking tea from my flask, taking in the wonderful scene. I love how Oxford can surprise you like this. The whole of Broad Street was transformed. Wires of lights were suspended from the Clarendon Building and the Sheldonian Theatre. There were braziers in the middle of the street.Further up, there were metals columns above a bowl of fire, with some sort of gear-wheel mechanism controlling the supply of oxygen, so they would periodically explode a fireball from the top. He is considered a great medieval surgeon, whose comprehensive medical texts, combining Middle Eastern and Greco-Roman classical teachings, shaped European surgical procedures up until the Renaissance. He is often regarded as the Father Of Surgery. Patients and students from all parts of Europe came to him for treatment and advice. According to Will Durant, Cordova was in this period the favourite resort of Europeans for surgical operations. Surgery in Holland (ca. 1690) By the thirteenth century, many European towns were demanding that physicians have several years of study or training before they could practice. Description
Splendid position for this beautiful villa renovated in 2006.
The villa faces the Sea and the Hills with a magnificent view all around.
It is located in a small private domain, a short walk from the beautiful Medieval village of Bormes les mimosas.

The house has been redone completely with high end materials and with an exquisite taste.
