    Topless nude protests grip Melbourne
    2008-05-15 23:50:00
I haven't done any blogging for a while. Why?I have been busy with:1. Enrolling in a Phd2. Buying things on ebay3. My life in generalI need to be more blog committed, I know. But I also need to be more committed to 1000 other things (eg. yoga, dancing, meditation, writing, researching PhD, dating etc) and so the blog suffers. However, I do feel that the topless nude protests require comment and to be shared with the wider world community and I am now breaking my blog silence."Who would nude protest and why is this gripping Melbourne?" you may ask, understandably (esp if you are not in Australia). The answer is, I'm not sure. A few weeks ago, there was a sad event in Melbourne where a taxi driver was killed by a passenger. The taxi drivers, upset about lack of safety organised a protest. The protest for some reason went from this: http://www.theage.com.auTo this: http://www.theage.com.auEither way, something worked and the drivers were successful in gaining mandatory safety screens and gett

    Medieval Melbourne

On display at the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne is The Medieval Imagination - Illuminated manuscripts from Cambridge, Australia and New Zealand. There are over 90 manuscripts are on display, dating from the 8th to the 16th centuries. It's an amazing collection of work, and to top it off, it is free. I have found myself wandering into the library whenever I am in the city to have another look. It's worth a visit to the State Library just to see the Domed Reading Room. It was opened in 1913 and it was the largest of its type in the world on completion. The reading room was built to hold over a million books and up to 500 readers. The exhibition is on from 28 March to 15 June 2008.The Medieval Imagination at State Library of Victoria

Tiger Airways Terminal - Melbourne Airport
    2008-04-10 23:11:00
Location: Melbourne - Australia Date: 28 Feb 2008Tiger Airways Australia has its home base at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. A budget airline like Tiger would seemingly be more suitable for Melbourne's other airport, Avalon, which is operating as a secondary low cost airport on the European model. Tiger have their own budget terminal at Tullamarine (terminal 4), separate from the main 3 terminals.Tiger Airways Arrivals - Melbourne AirportThe Tiger terminal is set up to save costs rather than to pamper flyers. An airport spokesperson described the terminal as more like a railway station. There are no aerobridges at this terminal so pasengers have to walk across the tarmac to and from the plane. When my flight landed the plane went to the end of the building then turned around so as the nose was pointing away from the terminal building. I presume they did this to save the cost of having the aircraft towed out from the terminal.Tiger Airways TullamarineThe arrivals hall is basically a shed

The Mazda2 Extreme, fourth model in the line of 'extreme' cars created by Mazda Motorsport in Australia, is unveiled at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show. Mazda Motorsport chief Allan Horsley said that “this was a surprisingly challenging Extreme car to do, however, the Mazda2 Extreme engine is still under development, and the plan is to increase the car's 'real world' performance by at least 20%.Starting with such an agile car really put the pressure on when it came to improving its real-world abilities.” Current modifications include a three-inch sports exhaust that gives the car better airflow and a more appropriate soundtrack for a car with ‘Extreme’ in its name. The 5-speed manual remains untouched and the car is still a front-wheel-drive number, although the suspension has been redesigned by an Australian suspension tuning expert to withstand the rigors of a full-blown rally. This includes custom 15-inch Potenza rally tires and lightweight alloy wheels sitting underneath sports

The best Sydney bar: it's in Melbourne
    2007-08-19 01:27:00
Take Melbourne, a city not - how do I put it politely - overblessed with natural good looks. To wander Melbourne's fabulous lanes at night is to relish a labyrinth dotted with tiny bars. In Sydney you find similar laneways smelling of chunder and pee. Melbourne has a vibrant CBD that makes it a joy to visit and live in. Sydney has, well, that harbour. I blame the licensing laws. In Melbourne a responsible cafe can get a liquor licence for $567.50, which allows it to serve a glass of wine to a punter who may not be eating

    Unexpected Melbourne Bed Tragedies
    2007-07-11 23:06:28
Without knowing it, when it is time to go people will least expect it. This is perhaps how the death of a 60 year old man died unexpectedly when a tree fell down their house while he was sleeping soundly in bed. Storms had a good hand in this, thanks to the gusty winds which have been a boon for most countries that are trying to get by them. Melbourne attractions
    2007-06-26 13:01:51
To a lot of people around the world Melbourne is synonomous with Neighbours as that’s where Ramsay Street (which is the real-life street of Pinoak Court and not on a movie-set as you might think) but there’s a lot more to see in and around the city than that of course. The city itself is quite compact so in terms of Melbourne accommodation you can pretty much choose anywhere and not be too far out of the action. However, to avoid the need for a car it’s best to pick a hotel near the centre of Melbourne and a great spot is near the lovely Flinders Street station. The free city circle tram is an excellent way to get yourself oriented and takes in the majority of the city centre attractions along its route. Among these perhaps the best is the Old Melbourne Gaol but don’t miss Captain Cooks cottage (transported from England and reconstructed) nor the botanical gardens. Slightly further afield make a point of spending an evening in accommodation at St Kilda where you

Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show
    2007-06-23 07:00:00
Star news groupIt will be a big mistake, if councillors accept new guidelines ruling Carlton Gardens as an unsuitable venue for the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, organisers and participants say. The Melbourne City Council was concerned the heritage-listed park would be unsuitable to hold such a high-impact event. Entering its 13th year, the show is one of Australia's hallmark events, regarded as the largest and most successful horticultural event in the Southern Hemisphere, and rated among the top five flower and garden shows in the world...

EAGLES.FAREWELL I TOUR Live from Melbourne Australia
    2007-05-22 05:15:00
Vocals,Drums,Percussion & Guitar:Don HenleyVocals,Guitar,Keyboards:Glenn FreyVocals,Guitar,Slide Guitar & Organ:Joe WalshVocals,Bass Guitar:Timothy B. Schmit都是主唱,都很會唱。 從The Long Run唱到兩首安可曲Take It Easy和Desperado...超過兩個半小時的音
