Esta es la frase de la semana de Pau Gasol. La mala noticia es que no hay noticias. Ni siquiera rumores sobre fichajes, o movimientos en el mercado de los agentes libres.
Una vez contratado un entrenador la clave estará en el “general manager” que llegue a Memphis. Marc Iavaroni ha destacado el papel de Gasol en el equipo, y le pide que no se vaya (leer en Marca).
El proceso de búsqueda de GM se prolongará durante una semana más, dónde se entrevistarán 2 candidatos (leer en la prensa de Memphis). Hasta el momento han sonado: Kiki Vandeweghe, Chris Wallace (GM de los Celtics), Mark Jackson (ex-Knicks), y David Griffin (Phoenix Suns senior vice president of basketball operations). A estos 4 candidatos habrá que sumarle esas dos entrevistas de las que hablan Hesley (propietario) y Jerry West (GM saliente).

Se sabrá el orden de elección de los equipos, pero no la elección de los jugadores. Es decir, sabremos si los Grizzlies eligen primero, pero no sabremos a quien. Dicha elección tendrá lugar a finales de junio, aunque ya hay una serie de previsiones sobre dónde y cómo acabarán los drafteables (ver nuestro 2º informe)
Memphis tiene un 25% de posibilidades de ser la franquicia que se lleve la primera elección del draft (así lo explicamos hace unas fechas).
Este draft será movidito. Kevin Durant y Greg Oden son las perlas del sorteo, pero hay otro buenos jugadores. Hay algún movimiento en el draft que lo puede hacer todavía más interesante.
