MINI Clubman Rickshaws running around Beijing
    2008-08-10 09:15:00
The rickshaw is a time-honored method of transportation in China. While the vehicles were initially pulled around by men on foot, the pedal-powered versions have grown much more popular in recent years and are a symbol of Chinese culture. When Beijing MINI needed an interesting way to communicate that the Clubman model was being introduced in Chinese, especially in light of all the media attention on the Olympics, it back-halved a slew of new Clubmans, mounted a pedicab front-end and sent them out for business.According to China Car Times, MINI's publicity stunt is working exactly as planned. Though the vast majority of media coverage is centered on those games from Greece, the MINI Rickshaws have managed to make some headlines of their own. We think the cabs turned out pretty cool, even incorporating the sunroof into the final design.[Source: China Car Times] Tag: China, Etc., Green, Marketing Advertising, MINI

    Mini Clubman by AC Schnitzer
    2008-05-21 11:39:00
Despite being described by some as “everything you don't need”, the MINI Cooper S Clubman is certainly doing something right on the business end with the launch contributing to record sales for the MINI brand. But at 170hp, surely it is missing something. The John Cooper Works kit went some way to appeasing the power hungry consumers with a package boosting the power up to 211hp, but AC Schnitzer had other ideas with their own package which boosts the Clubman up to 226hp. Hiding beneath the eye catching body kit which features a new front spoiler and a striking power dome is the 226hp/166KW AC Schnitzer tuned engine which develops up to 285nm of torque. But where there is power - there is noise. So to appease the neighbours, the famed BMW & Mini Tuner has fitted their twin sports rear silencer which plays its role in the orchestral masterpiece coming from chromed tailpipes. Driving performance is further enhanced with the AC Schnitzer spring kit and height-adjustable racing su

    Mini Clubman Chateau by Aznom
    2008-05-12 10:33:00
Do you want to live like a god in France but can't afford that castle in the Provence? Then maybe Aznom's latest creation, the MINI Chateau, will bring the solution for you. The MINI Chateau is based on the MINI Clubman S, made its world debut at the recent Top Marques show in Monaco, will be limited to just 12 units and radiates exclusivity and luxury with its wood trims and miniature, shock absorbant wine cellar (room for 6 bottles and chalices) in the trunk. The MINI Chateau is painted in pearly-changeable brown matched with sandy/gold metallic paint for the roof, bumpers and some details. But what really stands out is the use of precious wood, both on the inside and outside of the car. Inside Aznom fitted the upholstery with gaucho leather and Alcantara to create a warm, vintage atmosphere. The car rides on 18 inch TSW 'Pace' alloy wheels wrapped in 205/40 Yokohama S-Drive rubber. The 12 Aznom MINI Chateau's will have the owners name printed on the numbered label.Press release:Thes

The folks over at Inside Line have some explaining to do with this. Albeit taking into the fact that the Clubman has been spotted virtually undisguised long before today, the official images are up and we’re 50/50 now. Along with the three images came some notable specs. The Clubman sits on a stretched Cooper platform. The Clubman’s most noticing feature is the passenger-side suicide-style door. 2007-06-07 22:06:52
Just moments ago, our friends over at TheHollywoodExtra just posted a leaked sketch of the MINI Clubman production version. The Clubman has been tipped to unveil later this year in Frankfurt. The Clubman will sit on an extended chassis of the MINI Cooper and will likely share the same powertrains. The fate of the Clubman reaching our shores is questionable, but as popularity of the Cooper increases by the day, we’ll most likely see the Clubman on sale in North America sometime after its initial launch in Europe.
