Its really easy to make, and there can be several variations that you can try. I chose to make a simple one with creamy white sauce mixed with onions, garlic and spices. Asparagus has a strong flavor by itself, so cream and mild spices help to tone it down a bit, accentuating it in a nice way. I chose to add a...

| How to make Moroccan mint tea. (recipe) | | 2008-07-01 00:58:00 | | We have had a number of emails this week about making Moroccan mint tea and so Sannae has this to say:The art of tea making Moroccan style is not complex and the results delicious. For the traditional basic recipe, you require a reasonable sized metal tea pot that can be heated on a stove or simply a pot. Bring around a pint of water to the boil and add half a handful of green tea leaves (gunpowder tea is excellent)and several sugar lumps according to taste. Bring the water to the boil again and then remove from the heat while you place a large sprig of mint ( or a couple of cups of leaves) into the water. Bring to the boil again then remove from the heat and let set for a couple of minutes. Pour one tea glass full of tea and then return it to the pot. Repeat this a couple of times. Now the tea is ready. Pour each glass from high enough above the glass to cause the tea to foam a little. There are many variations on this but basically it is up to you. Enjoy!Tags: Moroccan Morocco Fes, Ma | | By: THE VIEW FROM FEZ | | |

| | I-mint Card-Whatever I do, I DON’T MINT! | | 2008-06-27 08:27:00 | | iMint points-Good idea, badly executedImint, in principle, is an excellent idea, but I somehow am not finding it useful. This post offers an analysis of pros and cons of this reward program. The core idea behind the scheme is to encourage people to spend more, that too at certain specific merchants/companies with whom iMint has a tie up. In exchange for your money which is spent at channel partners you will get some points, which when accumulated, can be exchanged for some gifts.IMint started sometime in late 2006/early 2007. It was fully free at that time. I applied and got a card delivered promptly within few days. They also tied up with major players like ICICI Bank, Airtel etc and got access to huge customer base these companied had. All customers of ICICI Bank, airtel etc were sent unsolicited imint cards-same individual would have got multiple cards- one for being ICICI account holder, one as an Airtel customer, one through direct application etc- NO attempt was made to consolidat | | By: eNidhi - A professional amateur | | |

| | Old-fashioned Cuban Mojito with Lime and Mint | | 2007-12-26 16:04:26 | | A mojito (pronounced mo-hee-to), is the same drink that we saw James Bond (i.e. the handsome Pierce Brosnan) sipping in Cuba, for the movie Die Another Day. This is one of Cuba’s oldest cocktails, and comes from the African word mojo, which means "to place a little spell".Legend traces its roots to 1586, when Francis Drake and his pirates tried to sack Havana for its gold. While the invasion was unsuccessful, Drake’s associate, Richard Drake, was said to have invented a mojito-like cocktail known as El Draque made with aguardiente (similar to rum), sugar, lime and mint. Early on, it was consumed for medicinal purposes. But somewhere around the mid-1800s, the recipe was altered and gained in popularity as the original Bacardi Company was established. The new version became famous as the Mojito we all know. So here's the traditional cocktail recipe. This is a very sparkling and refreshing drink, perfect for cocktail parties or dinner events. In fact, due to the presence of lime and mint, this is one cocktail that has a lot of cleansing ability!Ingredients8-10 fresh mint sprigs1 tbsp sugar dissolved in 1 tbsp water3-4 tbsp fresh lime juice (use lime, not lemon)1 oz light rumclub sodamint sprigs and lime wedges - for garnishMethodIn a tall glass, crush part of the mint with a fork. Add the sugar syrup and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Fill with 3-4 ice cubes. Add rum and shake a bit. Top off with chilled club soda. Garnish with a lime slice and some mint leaves, and serve immediately.Similar Recipes:The Blue HawaiinLychee MartiniPlease visit the actual blogsite at http://funnfud.blogspot.com

| | Green Pea and Mint Soup - Tastes as Good as it Looks!! | | 2007-12-11 14:05:36 | | I had loads of mint leaves at home after I used barely some from the large bunch I bought at the Farmer's market, and as they don't stay fresh for a long time, I knew I had to put them to good use. I searched around for some simple recipes, and finally decided to try it for a delicious soup, combined with peas, just perfect for detoxifying the system and enjoying the warmth of the soup in this winter chill. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant in trying the soup, but what is a chef who doesn't experiment, so I took the leap of faith and jumped right in! The result, a beautiful green-colored Pea and Mint soup, flavored mildly with onion, garlic, fennel and black pepper, and a little bit of fresh cream adding a bit to the indulgence. It serves to be a very healthy and wholesome entree on cold winter nights, and definitely puts all that extra mint to good use!!Ingredients1 tbsp olive oil1 small onion - chopped3 garlic cloves - minced1 tbsp fennel seeds powder - roasted (optional)6 cups | | By: Fun and Food | | |

SAN FRANCISCO
Alleys of transformation
A European-style plaza is emerging from gritty area of Old U.S. Mint
Carl Nolte, Chronicle Staff Writer
Sunday, June 10, 2007
For years, the two alleys that border the Old U.S. Mint in downtown San Francisco were cautionary tales in urban planning as they gradually declined into seediness after the Mint museum closed its doors in 1994.
The little stub of Mint Street, and the block of Jessie Street that runs from Mint into Fifth Street near Mission Street, had nothing but potential. The reality, however, was grim. There were drugs, there were derelicts, there was public urination. The two little alleys were a big mess.
But now, the two streets are being reborn into something called Mint Plaza. Cars have been banned from a block of Jessie, and it will be transformed into a small plaza, like something in Europe, with restaurants, green trees, outdoor dining and a new atmosphere.

| | | | Mint Credit Cards... | | 2007-05-30 06:13:00 | | I have always wondered about credit cards, and would like to get one someday. But for now, my husband is saying no, I am not qualified, well, not without his help. He said, I'll only go into debts, he certainly doesn't want to be obligated. So, this is why I don't have one yet. Perhaps, when time is better for us, I can get into getting one. So, at this time, I am looking around for a good "credit card deal". I want to make sure I am getting the right one, especially if I can also save money like what I read on a website I was just visiting called "Mint Credit Cards". I'll look into it and I might get their kind of credit cards. | | By: Memoirs of a Filipina | | |
| | Interest free credit card offer from Mint | | 2007-05-30 00:45:00 | | One of the steps to overcome credit card debt that I blogged about in my 5-part series entitled ‘the quickest way to make money’, is to get yourself an interest free credit card. Having an interest-free period is a prime opportunity to pay off some of the capital of your debt. Currently ‘Mint’ credit card are offering 0% interest up to August 2008 on credit transfers with another opportunity to extend beyond that period. If you have a credit-card balance that you are finding it hard to get on top of and you haven’t yet got a 0% credit card, you should definitely consider this deal. If you do switch credit-cards don’t forget to close your old account as having open but unused credit card accounts on file can negatively affect your credit rating. That tip is from personal experience!!Paid to post entry | | By: Munny4Hunny | | |

Jessie Street, near the Old U.S. Mint on Fifth Street, is the site of a $3.5 million renovation project.
SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - Starting today, drivers will no longer be allowed on a portion of Jessie Street near the Old U.S. Mint in downtown San Francisco, as work begins to turn the roadway into a pedestrian-only space for outside dining, music festivals and farmers markets.
The San Francisco-based Martin Building Co. has been working for two years to develop the 290-foot-long stretch of Jessie between Mint and Fifth streets into a European-style piazza called the Mint Plaza. As part of the plan, Jessie will be closed to vehicle traffic. Construction on the Mint Plaza will begin next week, and the plan is to open the new 18,000-square-foot public space in September.
“It’s a pretty beat-up street. There’s not a single tree,” said Michael Yarne, director of development at Martin Building Co., which owns four of the nearby buildings. “ | | By: San Francisco New Developments

| | Mint Collection: Update on the Mint Lofts | | 2007-04-27 22:11:54 | |
The Mint Collection recently had a Broker Preview party. The model homes were staged and available for viewing. The homes had m odern industrial design and finishes often seen in projects built by the Martin Building Company–including polished concrete floors and stainless steel fixtures.
Amenities include a fitness center, which overlooks a fully furnished and landscaped roofdeck that includes a grilling area and a custom spa. In addition, the building has exclusive use of a City CarShare Mini Cooper, which is kept on the premises and is available to all residents.
The Mint Collection is comprised of four historic buildings surrounding Mint Plaza, which are being converted into luxury residential, commercial and live work spaces. The location is close to Union Square, Yerba Buena Gardens, world class restaurants, nightclubs and a thriving art scene. Mint Plaza will closed to automobile traffic, with plans for a wide range of uses, including art, theater, music, cafes, | | By: San Francisco New Developments
