Shortly there after, I added a comment regarding an article from jihadwatch.org that cast suspicions on the authors. Apparently, the mis-information runs even deeper.The authors of the book, Dalia Mogahed and John Esposito (prior to my discovery of the Jihadwatch.org article,) were listed with high regard as to their credentials and associations. Today we got a letter from the head of the number one turkish atheist site which has been stripped from the eyes of Turks twice. Once under the original domain and then again under another domain. Unfortunately, the owner is unable to fight this in court because to do so he would have to identify himself which if you're familiar will end up resulting in his head being chopped off by the peaceful and loving muslims who work for Allah. On Tuesday (today, Oct 9), the Muslim Student Association (MSA) of UCLA will host Fast-a-thon, an event that invites non-Muslim students to experience a day of fasting. At 6:30 p.m., the MSA will invite the students that have fasted to break their fast together at a dinner on Bruin Plaza as student speakers discuss their experiences with fasting.While fasting during Ramadan helps Muslim students to reflect on their souls and grow closer to God, the increased religious commitments also challenge them to implement time management skills and provide opportunities to commune with each other.Naqib Shifa, a third-year geography and environmental studies student and president of MSA, said the goal of the Fast-a-thon is to give to charity while educating students about the importance of fasting to Muslims.Shifa said MSA plans to donate all the money raised in the Fast-a-thon to Islamic Relief, an organization that helps orphans around the world. The University of Michigan at Dearborn is planning to build foot baths for Muslim students who wash their feet before prayer. An elementary school in San Diego created an extra recess period for Muslim pupils to pray.
At George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., Muslim students using a “meditation space” laid out Muslim prayer rugs and separated men and women in accordance with their Islamic beliefs.
Critics see a double standard and an organized attempt to push public conformance with Islamic law.
