1. National Geographic Adventure - I’ve been subscribed to this magazine for a little more than a year now. I tried to get myself to cancel it given my upcoming travels, however as those last mailings urged me to renew for the low price of $10/year, I couldn’t help but think about all the amazing adventure stories I’d read over the past 12 issues (thus I renewed). Sure, the snippets about vacation packages are priced far beyond most people’s means, as are a lot of the cool gear they feature, however the adventurers and expeditions they highlight are fantastic. In addition, reading through the magazine gives me a bit of knowledge about more subversive forms of travel occurring around the globe, such as the Tribewanted project. Who knows, maybe I’ll be a featured writer for them one day!
