Resulta que el navegador Netscape va a dejar de actualizarse apartir del 1 de Febrero de 2008, es decir, que los responsables de dicho navegador no aseguran su seguridad a partir de dicha fecha.Netscape es un fabuloso navegador Web. En aquellos tiempos en los que para ver una simple fotografÃa, o imagen a través de internet era una auténtica cruzada, debido a su largo periodo de espera Netscape invadia los ordenadores de los que ya por entonces nos adentrabamos a este mundillo del que esperemos nunca salgamos. Por aquel entonces no era Gmail ni google quien dominaba a las masas, sino Hotmail y a lo sumo Yahoo. Netscape e Internet Explorer (Si... Microsoft siempre está en medio de todo lo que lleve por apellido "Informática") llevaron la primera guerra de navegadores, Netscape apareció en 1994, yo por esas fechas aún no tenÃa internet pero este navegador lo he usado y mucho, y como ya sabéis Microsoft llegó, se hizo con el código fuente de "Mosaic" y lo incorporó en Windows. Aún recuerdo la dificultad que suponÃa quitar a Internet Explorer de aquellos ordenadores.En 1999, AOL compró Netscape y la compañÃa dejó de prestar a su navegador la atención que merecÃa. Apostó por otro tipo de negocio y dejó el desarrollo en manos de la Fundación Mozilla, que se constituyó de forma independiente en 2003.
