| Starting a New Job | | 2008-08-03 21:02:28 | | I’ve just started my newest job in the hospital, patient care assistant like 5 weeks now. If you ask me, am I happy with my recent job? Oh yeah …that’s what my answer is going to be, after I worked over a year in the assisted living with the sucky managers and lazy staffs. Same [...] | | By: Thailand Musings | | |
| | Out Of The Broom Closet At My New Job | | 2008-07-30 18:15:00 | | כ"ז תמוז התשס"חFaunus 29My first three days at my new job have been wonderful. I did training on the organization's systems with the corporate nurse yesterday and today, and I really like her. Equally important, it came out in casual conversation at lunch time (when several women were remarking that they liked the skirt I was wearing) that I was also a witch (in addition to being Jewish with a gypsy heart). So, I'm out of the broom closet! at my new job now!The corporate nurse, as she was leaving for the day, goodnaturedly joked with me, "now don't bewitch anybody."It's going to be good there. :) | | By: Walking On Fire | | |

| Greenman At My New Job | | 2008-07-28 21:49:00 | | כ"ה תמוז התשס"חFaunus 27I started my new job today. There is a large pagan greenman! wall plaque prominantly and solitarily placed on the hallway wall leading back to the area where my quiet office is located. I also noticed that the organizational symbol on our name badges is a tree!I had a very good first day at my new job. The people there were so friendly. It was great. The nurse training me to take over her job was great (she is going back to school). We laughed so much together. I felt so relaxed and welcomed. This is very good beginning. I'm so happy! | | By: Walking On Fire | | |
| | J-Load gets a new job | | 2008-07-24 11:48:51 | | Just a quick note while I digest my lunch. Somehow, that's appropriate considering the subject of this quick post.
Jared Lorenzen, the former Giant backup QB, has landed another NFL gig. The Hefty Lefty has signed with the Indianapolis Colts to compete for a backup role behind Peyton Manning.
Yep. From backing up one Manning to backing up the other one.
Actually, we still have no idea if Lorenzen can play quarterback in the NFL. We do, know, however, that he sure is good at sitting around, rooting for a Manning and getting his mug in those sideline shots the TV cameras take during timeouts.
Good luck, J-Load.

| | New Job...New Island...New Life | | 2007-12-19 12:45:00 | | In case you were wondering where the heck I've been over these weeks, we have accepted positions at Parrot Cay Resort, where I am the new Resident Pilates teacher at the Como Shambhala Spa.Needless to say it has been quite a hectic month. Closing the studio on Providenciales, selling lots of stuff, adopting out our cats Rachel & Wanda (we brought our dog Smiley with us), and making the move by boat into our new island home.We LOVE it here! The surroundings are beautiful, the people are lovely, and I for one love not having to worry about scheduling, cleaning the studio, etc. All I have to do is what I do best--teach Pilates!Tags: Pilates, Exercises, Parrot Cay, Como Shambhala, fitness, news, spa, lynda lippin

| | New Job!! | | 2007-12-10 06:14:33 | | It was already 5:25 in the morning when I was pestered by the alarm of my cell phone I was still sleepy then so I turn it on a snooze mode and get back to bed. Again, after 10 minutes it gave another thud compelling me to get up for work. So, I fixed myself and headed downtown but still heavy-eyed since I slept last night ironing my clothes around 12 midnight. Given that I was assigned in Lanang Branch, I really have to wake up that early to be able to attend the Company’s Monday morning session. Actually our official time in is supposed to be 8:00 o’clock in an ordinary day but because of our Monday routine, we have to be in at 7:30. So I hastened my pace since it’s my first day and reached the bank at around 7:11, good thing I was 19 minutes ahead. Much to my surprise, the assembly was spearheaded by our big bosses and different cluster account Executives, Area Managers and officers coming from Tagum. So we started with a prayer, national anthem, the Bank’s Vision an | | By: Carpe Diem | | |

After 2 years of leaving my 2nd job (1st permanent job though), I was asked if I wanted to come back and work there again LOL.My ex-colleague called. Told me that they needed people and asked if I wanted my old job back. But of course, this time with higher salary and bigger responsibilities. He said that if I’m interested, I should talk to his boss – about the job scope, salary, etc. I don’t know what to do! Oh! My ex-colleague’s boss has just called to arrange an appointment with me. I was speechless. Firstly because I didn’t expect his phone call and I don’t know when I would be free, and secondly it was because of his accent. Wow! It has been a while since I last talked to a mat salleh and I actually had difficulty understanding him. I’m supposed to get back to him as to when I’m free for us to have a chat. Alamak! At present, I’m not very happy with my current job. I love the environment, the people (no doubt there are some crappy ones), and the fact that I c | | By: ..mekurukito..

| | Q&A: Searching for the new job | | 2007-07-12 16:14:21 | | Is it better to resign or call in sick while looking for a new job?
-David, Oregon
That all depends on your situation. Many companies like to hire people from their competitors or someone still working at a new job. It’s a sign of accomplishment for them. That they were able to recruit you, show you a better offer, and you accepted.
So in this situation, it’s better to call in sick when you’re looking for a new job or take some vacation days and schedule interviews.
Plus, if you don’t get that new job, at least you have your old one.
On the flip side, if you dread going to work everyday and you’re looking for a new job resigning just might be the answer. This will give you a breath of fresh air and the opportunity to find a job you’ll enjoy.
Nothing is worse than spending 8 hours a day at a place you don’t enjoy being at. However, you’ll want to make sure you have the financial resources to be unemployed for a while. I’ve he | | By: CEOConsultant.com

| | Can Blogging Help You Get a New Job? | | 2007-04-10 23:27:00 | | Sarah E. Needleman (Associate editor for CareerJournal.com) posts a nice article in today's WSJ (subscription required) about blogging and how it can help you get a new job. Here's a short excerpt:Corporate recruiters have long surfed the Web to vet potential hires, but now they are also surfing blogs to unearth job candidates, expanding their talent pool and gaining insights they say they can't get from résumés and interviews. If you are a recruiter and you aren't surfing the blogs, you are already behind the eight ball.If you are surfing the blogs but aren't making hires, at a minimum, you are putting yourself in great networking stead. And, personally, I'm finding no greater opportunity than blogs, for developing relationships with candidates for future opportunities. One of my goals is to use the blogosphere to make new contacts every day (ok, at least one). And for the most part, I consistently meet this goal.As an example, it wasn't too long ago that I left a comment on the WirelessisFun.com site, and as a result, struck up a friendship with the guys behind the WirelessisFun firewall. We now have a pending podcast for sometime in the near future and an almost daily dialogue. However, I'm really looking forward to talking my buddy Dan in to a new career with T-Mobile USA.It's a long relo to Bellevue, WA from Romania, but hey, anything's possible in the blogosphere.Needleman also posted an article titled,What Job Seekers Can Gain From Blogs about RecruitingWithout question, the blogosphere is the place to go for job hunters who are seeking advice (of course, I'm slightly biased to this point, but it's because I'm right). And modest. Here's a few of the blogs noted in the article - great choices - I read every one of these blogs and believe that job-search savvy job seekers should be reading them too. | | A New Job... Sort Of | | 0000-00-00 00:00:00 | |
Today was an interesting day. First, I received an email from the company that I contract for saying that the other company that I was receiving calls for is pulling the plug on their work at home run; however, they wanted me to start working for another company doing the same thing. Sounds good. After a moment of panic, I went and accepted the offer and now I will start my 10-day training period for the new company on Monday-ish.
I am sooo not looking forward to the training. I just got to the point where I pretty much knew the ins and outs of my current company. Also, working for this new company includes sales. So, I will be doing activations, billing *and* sales. Blah. Oh, well. What am I gonna do? This is my only option and it will end up working out fine.
The hard part is not only do I have to learn an entirely new billing and activation system, I have to learn an entire product line as well as the features and capabilities of each product. Did I mention that I take calls fo | | By: Mom and Miss A's Homeschool Experience
