| CJ's 2009 NFL Mock Draft | | 2008-08-11 19:18:06 | | CJ’s draft Version 2.0 (11 August 2008)This is my projected draft selection order as of August 11, 2008. This draft assumes a lot of undergraduates are going to enter the draft with the possibility of a rookie contract limit rumored to implemented. I saw your comments and thought there were some good points, thanks. 1) Chicago: Matthew Stafford, QB/Georgia – Watching the Bears not only lose to the Chiefs but hear new that Chris Williams might not be there this season due to injury leads me to believe Chi QB’s are going to struggle so much Chi will be forced to take a QB in the 09 draft. Be happy Bears fans Stafford has a great arm2) San Francisco: Tim Tebow, QB/Florida – I seriously think Tebow is the kind of guy who will be at the Swamp 2 more seasons but many have told me they think he’s coming out. Tebow isn’t the most polished passer but he is the best athlete at QB, plus he is in a spread-wide open kind of offense now just like the one Martz likes to run. | | Josh's 2008 NFL Mock Draft | | 2008-04-16 15:00:39 | | 1. Miami Dolphins – OT Jake Long, Michigan. In a moderately weak year to have the number 1 pick in the draft, the Dolphins make the smart move and take sure thing in Long. Long will be a franchise tackle for the Dolphins as Bill Parcells will build this franchise from the offensive and defensive lines. Parcells’ eye for talent will enable the Dolphins to find their skill position players down lower in the draft and it is too early to give up on last years second round QB John Beck.2. St. Louis Rams – DE Chris Long, Virginia. The Rams take an electric player from the DE position to help to bolster their inept defense. Long may have more upside than any other player in this draft and his size makes him an intriguing pick to attack offenses from multiple looks and positions. 3. Atlanta Falcons – DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU. This might be the biggest toss up pick of the draft. The bushel of money they threw at RB Michael Turner takes McFadden off their board, and I am not sure that Matt ... | | By: The NFL Draft Site | | |

| SBNation NFL Mock Draft, Round Two: Bills On The Clock | | 2008-04-14 18:10:40 | | Hosted at Mocking the Draft OK, fellow Rumblers - the time is now for y'all to put on your GM hats and enter the war room. The Buffalo Bills are once again on the clock in the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, and just like in the first round, this community will be making the team's second-round selection. In case you missed it, our first-round pick was Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly (and yes, the selection was submitted before he bombed his Pro Day April 9). Selections 1-37 are viewable at the host site of the mock draft, while picks 38-40 have been made "behind the scenes". Here are the five players that we'll be choosing from in this round; if you don't like this list, feel free to add names in the comments section. (Note: Virginia Tech CB Brandon Flowers has been left off of this list because I believe that there is a 99% chance that the Ravens will take him with pick 38 this evening. Similarly, I believe that there's a strong chance that DE Quentin Groves an... | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |
| | 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Round 1 Recap | | 2008-04-11 10:12:31 | | The 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, hosted over at Mocking the Draft, has just wrapped up the first-round selections (it only took us two weeks!). Below are the 31 selections (thanks to Sean at Pride of Detroit for being a wizard with table coding); we'd love to hear feedback on how you think the first round unfolded. We're also looking for suggestions for second-round picks for the Bills. Fire away, Bills fans! 2008 SBNation NFL Mock Draft - ROUND 1 Pick Team Player Pos. Ht. Wt. | | SBNation NFL Mock Draft: Bills On The Clock | | 2008-04-02 14:28:08 | | Host: Mocking the Draft OK, fellow Rumblers - the time is now for y'all to put on your GM hats and enter the war room. We are only up to pick 7 in the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft over at Mocking the Draft (pick 8 will air this evening, around 8:00 PM eastern), but this community is scheduled to pick for the Buffalo Bills in just over 24 hours' time. The first seven picks are in, and the six big names (Long x2, Gholston, Ryan, Ellis and Dorsey) plus Leodis McKelvin are off the board. With those picks in mind - and understanding that there are still three more picks to be made (Baltimore, Cincinnati, New Orleans) before we pick, here are the five prospects I'm considering with this pick: Note: there are no trades in this mock draft, so we're picking at 11. These prospects are non-negotiable - so with proper apologies to the DE contingent out there, the Bills won't be selecting Derrick Harvey in this mock draft. Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma: Kelly is the o... | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |
| | 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Day Two Recap | | 2008-04-01 20:42:49 | | Day Two of the 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, hosted at Mocking the Draft, saw the picks shift into high gear. Three more selections were made today; three will be made tomorrow (through Baltimore), and then finally on Thursday night we'll be making the pick for the Buffalo Bills. Much more on that process to come tomorrow afternoon; for now, here's how things unfolded today: No. 3 Pick by The Falcoholic Jake Long Offensive Tackle Michigan Want my opinion on the best pick of the draft so far? This is it. Long fills a huge need for the Falcons and immediately helps out [insert name of Falcons rookie quarterback TBA] next year. This pick is very reminiscent of the one the Browns made last season with Joe Thomas - they added a stud tackle prospect, then traded up to nab their QB of the future. Look for the Falcons to do something similar in this mock (though they might not have to trade to do it). No. 4 Pick by Silver and B... | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |
| | 2008 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Day One Recap | | 2008-04-01 07:16:33 | | The 2008 SB Nation NFL Draft, hosted at Mocking the Draft, got under way yesterday, and the first two selections of the mock draft were made. Here's how those two picks played out: No. 1 Pick by The Phinsider Chris Long Defensive End Virginia This was the smartest pick that the Dolphins, and Matty I, could have made. Matt Ryan isn't a #1 overall pick type of quarterback, and the John Beck experiment is not yet over (yes!). There are also questions about whether or not Jake Long can be elite at left tackle in the pros, so it's not worth paying him like he can. Chris Long is the hardest worker with the best pedigree in this draft, and he's ultra-talented to boot. It's a safe pick, yes, but it's also going to make Miami's defense much better. No. 2 Pick by Turf Show Times Vernon Gholston Defensive End Ohio State In our first minor upset pick of the year, VanRam showed guts by passing on Jake Long for, in my opinion... | | By: Buffalo Rumblings | | |

| | Daryl's 2008 NFL Mock Draft | | 2008-01-27 09:25:07 | | Here is a nice looking mock draft from Daryl Breault. Daryl is a Columnist for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a senior writer for NFL Draft Dog.com1. Miami Dolphins- Matt Ryan QBDolphins need a franchise QB and everything about the team is in a state of flux so why not start over with a fresh QB and put some weapons around him.2. St. Louis Rams- Glenn Dorsey DTThis will be the Rams only chance to get a game changing DT, they can pick up def. ends and lineman in later rounds. Dorsey is the player who can finally take the pressure off of Leonard Little.3. Oakland Raiders- Darren McFadden RBI think this is a case of Al Davis trying to hit the home run. While he would be great in the Silver and Black, the Raiders have so many needs that they might be better served taking Jake Long, Chris Long or a wideout like DeSean Jackson.4. Atlanta Falcons- Jake Long OTThe Falcons lack talent at multiple positions. They missed out on Ryan, who they desperately need while McFadden would have been another ... | | By: The NFL Draft Site | | |

| | 2007 NFL Mock Draft Updated | | 2007-03-05 04:44:28 | | 2007-nfl-draftChris Houston, ArkansasI have updated my post combine 2007 NFL Mock Draft: 2007 Mock Draft LinkSome 2007 NFL Scouting Combine All-Stars are starting to sneak into various Mock NFL Drafts. Chris Houston from Arkansas is an elite bump and run corner, only a junior but he ran a sizzling 4.34 second 40 yard dash. Eric Wright from UNLV looked excellent in the defensive back drills and then burned up the track running a 4.33 second 40 yard dash. The other prospect that should hear his name called early in the 2007 NFL Draft is John Wendling from Wyoming. He is a specimen at 6' 1" 222 pounds and he ran a 4.49 second 40 yard dash. LB Quincy Black of New Mexico is also a specimen and might be sneaking into the early rounds of the 2007 NFL Draft. Black measured in at 6' 1" 240 pounds and ran a nice 4.48 second 40 yard dash. He (Black) was also a stand out in almost every other category, he had a broad jump of 10' 4", a vertical jump of 41.5" and a real quick 6.86 second 3-cone ... | | By: The NFL Draft Site | | |
| | 2008 NFL Mock Draft | | 2007-02-11 23:43:00 | | NFL DraftUpdated 8 May 2007It's never to early to get started on the 2008 NFL Draft. For the sake of simplicity I just used the current draft order. I also included some of the top underclassmen that are likely to come out early.1. Oakland: Jake Long, OT, MichiganThe Raiders should be set at quarterback with JaMarcus Russell at the helm and with RB Michael Bush on board they might pass on Darren McFadden. Russell is going to need protection.2. Detroit: Darren McFadden, (JR) RB, Arkansas Kevin Jones started out hot, but has been injury prone as of late. McFadden is the Calvin Johnson of the 2008 NFL Draft.3. Dallas Cowboys: Limus Sweed, WR, Texas From Cleveland: The Cowboys starting 2 receivers are both over 33 years old. Sweed is a heck of a wide out: 6' 4" 217 pounds and can run like the wind. Sweed is in the same mold as the Lion's Roy Williams, also from Texas.4. Tampa Bay: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville The Bucs didn't get a top quarterback in the 2007 NFL Draft. Brohm is an impre... | | By: The NFL Draft Site | | |
