| | Ephemeral Noon Market on Sukhumvit~!! | | 2008-08-14 11:58:42 | | Blink and you'll miss it~!! The sidewalk between Sukhumvit 24 and 26 turns into an impromptu market at noon during weekdays~!!The thing is, since the sellers are there to catch (mostly) office workers on their lunch break, they will disappear just as quickly as they come in the early afternoon~!! The usually spacious sidewalk will get clogged during lunchtime, then around 1:30 - 2 pm everything will turn quiet again... until the next day lunchtime. It's also a hit-n-miss affair when it comes to the products being offered here... since some sellers are there all the time (like the earrings seller) and some are just "guest sellers" (like many of those hawking clothes). This means: if you find something that you like here, you better buy it NOW~!! Coz there's no guarantee that the same seller will show up again next time~!!Also available: all kinds of food (fruits, breads, sausages, meatballs, ice cream, peanuts, grilled bananas), drinks, counterfeit items (like DVDs and watches - ha ha ha | | By: Street Smart Sukhumvit | | |
| | On To Philly With A Victory For The Sox...Back to Boston For The Celtics, With The Lakers In Tow...A US Open Noon Playoff...Boston 9 Cincinnati 0 | | 2008-06-16 04:29:00 | | The Great American Ballpark is the home of the Cincinnati Reds. It's also a place, as the Boston Red Sox found out in a 9-0 defeat of those Reds, that's fairly easy to hit one out into the seats. Yesterday, without their two big sluggers, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, the visitors from Boston smashed four home runs. Jacoby Ellsbury, who set the Red Sox rookie record for steals in a season with 33, Justin Pedroia, the still white-hot JD Drew and Coco Crisp all went deep, and it led to a great offensive display for the world champions. It was the first time since '97 that the first three hitters in the Boston lineup hit taters. Who were they? Nomar, John Valentin and Connecticut's own (Too Big) Mo Vaughn. Outfielder Coco Crisp had this to say after the shutout ended..."We have a good hitting team," Crisp said. "Those guys make us better, no doubt. But without them, we were still able to put up some good runs. It shows that we can still play good ball as a team without the two superstars | | By: Peter's Red Sox Forever | | |

| Slow in morning, fast in noon-poor service! | | 2008-04-27 10:22:00 | | Type your summary here.Type the rest of your post here.Today, my mother and I went to Klinik Kesihatan Kota Bharu or known as Hospital Pesakit Luar Kota Bharu. At 9.30 am, we arrived there. There are already a lot of people waiting for their number to be called to go to first floor for a doctor. I pressed two number(one for me and another for my mother as well). After 10 minutes, reach my number and i paid RM 2 and go upstair. Then we go to first floor. When we arrived at first floor, what a shock! The number was so so so far, current number was 0164 and my number was 0309! That time, i suggested my mother to left there first then come back. But my mother recommend that we should stay there to wait for the number. So what i need to do is just wait. To prove that I am not cheating, I've took photograph. After waiting for 1 hour 30 minutes, the numbers rapidly increases! I don't cheat! | | It's High Noon For Clemens | | 2008-02-12 11:30:00 | | His appearance before Congress tomorrow starts at 10 AM, but it is High Noon for Roger Clemens on Wednesday, as he will plead his innocence before them that he never took any performance-enhancing drugs.Let's face the facts. The Texas Con Man has boxed himself into such a corner that he has absolutely no choice but to do that. You'd have to be blind or some kind of crazy Clemens fan to believe in his innocence. Right now he can't go before Congress and say that Brian McNamee supplied him and shot him up with PEDs. If he were to do that, he can kiss his Hall of Fame induction, his legacy and millions of dollars in endorsements goodbye. So he HAS to go before Congress and risk perjury and declare his innocence. The case against him is just too strong. Two days after The Mitchell Report came out, Andy Pettitte came clean and admitted that McNamee shot him up (at least twice) with HGH. That was a near-death blow to Clemens, as the public simply won't believe that McNamee told the truth about | | By: The Mighty Quinn Media Machine | | |

| | Ginn Family Update: Expected to Sign Deal by Noon | | 2007-07-27 16:45:26 | |
Small Ginn Family update as everyone is probably hitting F5 on SporTech Matter to see if Ted Ginn Jr has signed his rookie contract. Jeff Darlington reports in his Dolphin notebook that Ted Ginn Jr’s agent and the Dolphins have been working furiously since late Thursday evening.
The principal terms of Ginn’s contract have been in place since Monday, but both sides still needed several days to iron out backside incentives and extras. The process, however, was stalled for several reasons, including a lack of signings by first-round players.
Recent signings of first round draft picks Jamaal Anderson and Gaines Adams have sped up the process.
Stay tuned.

| | Saturday's Game Thread; Cubs at White Sox; Noon CT | | 2007-06-23 17:30:00 | | So, I was watching yesterday's game, and I figured it out. Ozzie Guillen right now has basically taken the form of Jimmy Dugan in the movie of which this blog is named after. He's there, but he's not. Maybe waking up every once in a while to see the plays that are going on, then falling back asleep, dreaming about meeting Jay Mariotti in a dark alley.
Way to go, whatever your name is!
During Friday's win, we saw the resurged Carlos Zambrano, now playing like the ace he said he would, thanks to solving the arm slot problems that plagued him in the first two months. With that problem out of the way, Rich Hill could use a little help with his. King Richard's aren't about arm slot--the youngster was rumored to have been tipping his pitches in the last outing, which resulted in an early shower after he gave up five runs (three HR) in just three innings.
Hill could use a good start. He was holding the ace spot warm until Zambrano decided his season was going to start, but Richie Rich | | By: A League of Her Own
| | Friday Noon Rangers Update | | 2007-06-01 19:21:12 | | Last night, I said that Texas’s starting pitching was performing at a historically bad pace, but I wasn’t sure exactly how bad. Thanks to Evan Grant’s article in today’s Dallas Morning News, now I know.
Among the 10 highest full-season rotation ERAs since the stat was first recorded in 1957, only four rotations had higher ERAs this deep into the season. That’s right, the Rangers are on pace this season to have the 5th worst starting rotation of the past 50 years.
Texas is now 19-35 through 54 games, exactly one-third of the way through the season. They’re on pace to finish 57-105, which would tie the 1973 Rangers for the worst record in club history. Coincidentally, that 1973 team began the season 19-35 as well.
Prorating out their current runs scored/allowed, the 2007 Rangers are on pace to score 789 runs and allow 915. Using the Pythagorean winning percentage formula, Texas would go 70-92 if they retain that level of production. The Rangers haven&r | | By: Baseball Time in Arlington
| | Friday Rangers Noon Update | | 2007-05-11 19:47:58 | | Rangers 14, Yankees 2
Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to make this update with, but there’s a few notes that bear mentioning.
Great win yesterday afternoon, and one which snapped an eight game losing streak to the Yankees dating back to 2006. Brandon McCarthy was effective, surrendering just one run in 5.1 innings, and threw more breaking stuff than he did in his last start against Toronto. He’s now 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA in his two May starts, so there’s definitely signs of him turning the corner.
The offense came to life in the last five innings of the game, scoring 13 runs in that timespan. Leading the way was Mark Teixeira, who went 4 for 5 with three doubles. His red hot bat has risen his OPS to a respectable .845. Sammy Sosa and Gerald Laird also chipped in with three hits apiece, and Victor Diaz put the game away with a pinch-hit grand slam in the 8th inning. Very, very nice, and hopefully things continue to improve.
