Mats Sundin Is Obviously Going To Join The Avalanche
    2008-08-08 08:44:31
via denverpostblogs.com As Adrian Dater shows us over at All Things Avs, Nordic monstrosity Mats Sundin played golf with Peter Forsberg this past week in Sweden. Look, photos don't lie, okay?  If Mats Sundin is hanging out with Peter Forsberg, then obviously Foppa is working overtime to recruit him.  It's just a matter of time before we see "Sundin Signed By Avalanche" scrolling across the screen on ESPN (does TSN have a scroll?  Is that legal in Canada?).  Now that Joe Sakic's secret unrestricted free agency has been revealed by an astute blogger, every team in the league will be chasing him.  The Avs are going to have to replace him somehow, so why not with Sundin?  I'm sure, due to his advancing age and declining skills, that Mats would accept a greatly reduced salary and a spot on the second line.  Right?  I know Joe Sakic would, if he weren't too busy signing with the Ottawa Senators, that is. Mats Sundin is just days away from sign...

    Diana's butler 'obviously' lying!
    2008-04-01 05:57:29
When this so-called inquest into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales is over it will all be totted in up in time and cost. It is a complete waste of time. It is costing a fortune. The only people to gain from this are the snout-nosed journalists who see rich pickings in the stories emanating from it and the likes of Mr. Fayed of Harrods fame and that Paul Burrell, both of whom have agendas, books, and egos to promote. How come Mr.Fayed can peddle such accusations? Is it only because he is using the court system? Burrell is a liar of the first order. He's been filmed admitting that himself!I'm all for free speech, but this is ridiculous. The three party leaders at Westminster keep their members on a tight leash so that they don't go off message, but these pantomime walk-ons can spout the most horrendous stuff, oblivious of who they hurt or defame.Lord Justice Scott Baker is absolutely right. It is "blindingly obvious" that Paul Burrell's evidence was clearly "not the whole truth". When...

    Obviously, Everyone Needs Media Training
    2008-01-06 21:47:31
While we realize everyone has bad days, it’s not always the best idea to have one in front of a camera crew. See Shalom Harlow, Jessica Stam & Angela Lindvall throw their best attitudes on tape....

NHL Merch Sales Way Up, Interest In Sport Obviously Down
    2007-07-09 23:08:00
It has been common consensus for some time that the NHL is on life support. Games can only be found on a lousy, hard-to-find, b-list cable network, the ratings suck anyway, ESPN doesn't cover hockey because the sport is lame (rather than their lack of a vested interest in its promotion), and attendance at most arenas is down. All in all, the National Hockey League sucks and nobody in the United States cares about it.Maybe nobody watched or attended the actual games last season because they were spending all of their time buying crap tons of NHL merchandise online. The league reports that their online merchandise sales have increased for ten straight seasons, and this past year was the best ever---47% more sales than the year previous. The two individual teams with the biggest gains in merch sales: the Sabres and the Ducks. The most popular individual player jersey: some young stud named Sidney Crosby. I've never heard of him either. So nobody cares about the NHL but licensed m...

Obviously Right… but oh so wrong.
    2007-06-27 17:13:36
New Zealand atmospheric scientist August “Augie” Auer, recently deceased, has gotten a lot of press for his statements that global warming is “all going to be a joke in five years“. A number of newspapers picked up the story, and so have numerous web sites. I found him quoted here, complete with a taste of “global warming is a religion” nonsense which, frankly, is just smear. I found a thread at FreeRepublic, a post at MoonBattery, and another at MPinkEyes. I came across Augie’s prediction via Obviously Right, hence the title of this post. But the title also reflect the kind of lack of reflection that typifies the Augie quoting. Auer certainly is qualified to talk about global warming issues, perhaps that is why he’s been quoted so frequently, but qualified or not Auer still has to deal with facts and he has to make a good argument. Unfortunately, Augie doesn’t seem to have the latter on his side and he goofed up some of the former....

    OBVIOUSLY NOT AFRAID.
    2007-03-17 11:52:00
A WHAZAMMO' SEZ' ...This is a picture of my poorly maintained Chevrolet Suburban Not much scares me, I mean "really" scares me... (like the dark, viscous dogs, and growing up does), the status of which is actually a problem. Not that I pre- "plan" things out.... but more that I adeptly and instantaneously "adapt" to happenings and events "on demand"; " adapt" meaning respond, as in meaning "squeek out of", as in meaning "whew" ! Lady luck ? fate ? coincidence ? guidance ? .... whatever ! I'll take it. Have taken it, and can only hope there is more of it still left in the jar. What "is" luck though, is the fact I never took flying lessons and got a pilots license !!!! Or, that I never had the money to actually "buy" that Navy surplus J-58 afterburner jet engine that I drooled over for the racecar. Which brings up the need for yet another WHAZAMMO' tale about introversionic thought, and why beer doesn't come from wells, or, what your Doctor "won't" tell you about ear wax. Once up...
