| Greg Oden and Kevin Durant would hit it | | 2008-08-01 12:34:23 | | Ok so here’s a very interesting photo of our friends Greg Oden and Kevin Durant from the ESPYs taking in some eye candy. Thanks to the big lead for finding this pic.
Now I believe this is from last years ESPYs because if I remember correctly Maria Sharapova wore that last year and Greg Oden [...] | | By: Sportfiends | | |
| | The Oden Experience | | 2007-10-15 13:14:00 | | In Japan, do not be deceived by these stalls across Tokyo. In the Philippines, we equate street foods as cheap and affordable. These Oden stalls in the streets of Minatoku are more expensive than Obentos sold in convenience shops like Lawson, Family Man and Mini Stops. Each "dumpling" would cost around 100 to 200 each ranging from hotdogs, boiled eggs, tofu and meat/veggie dumplings. Not quite enough for a Filipino diet and food requirement. You know that most Filipino men are really into rice and heavy meals. Sake on the other hand is at 300 Yen per glass. I spent around 800 yen for this food trip. Remarkable though is that I was able to talk and dine with a Japanese family who were very good in English. They lived in Hong Kong for a year and already visited Cebu. They told me the history of these oden shops before. They said that numerous soba and udon shops protested the sprawl of these oden shops because they are taking away their customers. Way back then, there were not less than 30 oden shops in this vicinity. And now, I can only see two shops along Minato area. Take note, they say that Oden stalls are more affordable than obentos in convenience shops and a 300 yen glass of sake is more reasonable than sake in soba shops. Which indeed, in the end and after careful thinking of the commodities here in Japan, is correct. | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog | | |
| | By: Jugones | | |

| | By: Jugones | | |
| | Oden showing a lighter side | | 2007-06-28 14:17:00 | | I'm turning into a Greg Oden fan.Oden, the likely No. 1 pick in tonight's NBA Draft, has been making the rounds prior to the draft. Somewhat like Shaquille O'Neal, Oden is coming off as a guy with a likable, fan-friendly personality to match his 7-foot, 260-pound frame.Oden has been chronicling his pre-draft experiences in a wildly popular blog on Yardbarker. He might not be a great writer (hey Greg, try some paragraph marks once in a while, please), but his blog is a fun read. Here's a couple of recent gems.On having dinner with Steve Nash. "He is way more mature than me."On signing a contract with Nike. "I just want a commercial with "Little Penny" maybe they can call it "Little Oden" I would love it. I really want to make a funny commercial like "The Lebrons." Then hopefully I could win a whole bunch of championships and have those real serious ones like Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong."On leaving Ohio State. | Oden or Durant? The choice is clear | | 2007-05-22 13:38:00 | | The NBA Draft Lottery is tonight, and that begs the question -- if had you the No. 1 pick would you take Greg Oden or Kevin Durant?Oden, the powerful Ohio State center, appears the likely choice for whichever team gets the top pick. There are those, however, who believe Durant, the silky-smooth forward from Texas who reminds many of Kevin Garnett or Tracy McGrady, will be the better player. To me, it's a no-brainer. You have to take Oden. The rarest of all commodities in the NBA has always been a dominant center, and that is what Oden could be for the next 10-15 years.Yes, the NBA games has changed somewhat to be a more perimeter game, one often controlled by ball-handling guards. It is still true, however, that a difference-making big man changes the game in ways no other players can. A dominating, back-to-the-basket post player who can also block shots, intimidate the opposition defensively and rebound is still the type of player NBA general managers dream of being able to find.In the | | By: Valentine's Views on Sports | | |
| | Greg Oden In His Spare Time | | 2007-03-19 23:51:00 | | Ohio State is through to the Sweet 16 largely because of their Big Man On Campus, Greg Oden. Oden is the best player on the number one team in the nation (from the polls) and is likely the number one pick in the upcoming NBA Draft if he chooses to declare. So far this year, Oden is averaging 15.6 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 60.5 FG%, and 3.4 bpg.We all now his prowess on the court, but what about off the court. According to a recent Sports Illustrated article on the Ohio State Athletic Department, Greg Oden is taking just two courses in Spring Semester 2007 - Sociology 101 and History of Rock & Roll. He also receives two credits for basketball, a benefit varsity athletes are able to claim twice during their academic career. I guess that leaves a lot of time for basketball and partying. Oden may be doing a little more partying if the Buckeyes can win it all as some project they will.Oden is enjoying his "Big Man On Campus" status in Columbus. | | By: ACC SEC Blog | | |
