    Chocolate, the Old-Fashioned Way.
    2008-06-15 15:49:00
June 16 ... This day in 1657, so all the books say, was the day that Chocolate was first advertised in England. The Publick Advertiser announced: “In Bishopsgate St, in Queen's Head Alley, at a Frenchman's house, is an excellent West Indian drink called chocolate to be sold, where you may have it ready at any time and also made at reasonable rates.” Chocolate was a very new and exotic treat in England at this time, but within a few decades it was easily available (for those who could afford it) in London’s famous coffee houses. At this time chocolate was a drink – ‘eating’ chocolate was still two centuries away. It was made by laboriously pounding and sifting the cacao beans to a fine powder from which compressed ‘cakes’ or rolls were made, which were then grated up when a drink was needed. The variety of flavoured chocolate drinks in trendy modern shops – such as hazelnut, cinnamon, mocha, vanilla etc – are not a new idea, they are a rediscovery of a very

How Solar Panel is made? (old fashioned style)
    2008-05-19 11:02:00
Video shows how the solar panel is made from many solar photovoltaic modules in an old fashioned way, manually. Only 600 solar panels produced per day in this small factory is far away from mass production. All new solar photovoltaic technologies, which are coming to the market could not be price competitive without a massive automated production line, which considerably lower the production costs and lower number of manufacturing faults. There are two main factors in efforts of achieving as lower production costs as possible per 1W of electrical power produced:- less quantity of the expensive crystalline silicon material used in a solar cells- higher efficiency rate of solar cells

Old-fashioned Cuban Mojito with Lime and Mint
    2007-12-26 16:04:26
A mojito (pronounced mo-hee-to), is the same drink that we saw James Bond (i.e. the handsome Pierce Brosnan) sipping in Cuba, for the movie Die Another Day. This is one of Cuba’s oldest cocktails, and comes from the African word mojo, which means "to place a little spell".Legend traces its roots to 1586, when Francis Drake and his pirates tried to sack Havana for its gold. While the invasion was unsuccessful, Drake’s associate, Richard Drake, was said to have invented a mojito-like cocktail known as El Draque made with aguardiente (similar to rum), sugar, lime and mint. Early on, it was consumed for medicinal purposes. But somewhere around the mid-1800s, the recipe was altered and gained in popularity as the original Bacardi Company was established. The new version became famous as the Mojito we all know. So here's the traditional cocktail recipe. This is a very sparkling and refreshing drink, perfect for cocktail parties or dinner events. In fact, due to the presence of lime and mint, this is one cocktail that has a lot of cleansing ability!Ingredients8-10 fresh mint sprigs1 tbsp sugar dissolved in 1 tbsp water3-4 tbsp fresh lime juice (use lime, not lemon)1 oz light rumclub sodamint sprigs and lime wedges - for garnishMethodIn a tall glass, crush part of the mint with a fork. Add the sugar syrup and lime juice and stir thoroughly. Fill with 3-4 ice cubes. Add rum and shake a bit. Top off with chilled club soda. Garnish with a lime slice and some mint leaves, and serve immediately.Similar Recipes:The Blue HawaiinLychee MartiniPlease visit the actual blogsite at http://funnfud.blogspot.com

Georgia Georgia Tech - Clean, Old Fashioned Hate
    2007-11-24 10:11:00
Georgia Tech vs Georgia 3:30 ABCLine: UGA -3.5, 48Georgia leads 58-38-5 Saturday will the last game for 18 Georgia Tech seniors. This group has 30 victories and 3 bowl appearances, but they are 0-3 against Georgia. This could also be Georgia Tech's Chan Gailey last game as head coach. Many rumors are swirling around Atlanta as to what this game means for his future. Gailey has led Tech to 5 bowls in 5 years and has never finished below .500 in conference, but he is 0-5 against Georgia - a sore spot that cannot be bandaged easily for many Tech fans. Tech’s Tashard Choice leads the ACC in rushing for the second year in a row and could be the first back to lead the league in rushing for two straight years since Thomas Jones. Georgia will counter with redshirt freshman Knowshon Moreno who has had 5 straight 100 yards games; the first Bulldog since Herschel Walker to accomplish this feat. Both teams are much better at running than passing, both averaging above 175 ypg on the ground whi

    Call me old fashioned.
    2007-06-14 14:59:00
Whilst out looking for a pair of shoes the other day I was treated to an amazing display of the type of control that children seem to have over their parents these days. The Mother obviously intimidated by her young charge was desperately trying to convince her brat that the Thirty pound trainers were just as nice as the eighty pound ones that he insisted he must have.I quote: The Mother: “But Taurean, these will last you much longer and anyway I can’t really afford to pay that much for something you will wear out in a couple of weeks”. The brat: “I aint wearin em, no one wears em, there shit ones an I aint f**kin wearin em”. Followed by “You aint makin me luck a f**kin c**t, Ill phone the chile welfare on yer”.Of course she bought the trainers and they walked happily from the store as though the exchange hadnt happened. Notwithstanding his total lack of respect for his Mother I would gladly have kicked his shaved head in just for his selfishness. It would have been nice
