    Outback Duel
    2008-05-16 00:00:00
There are no laws designed by man, that mean a thing out where, The drying sun on pastel lands, can’t lead all to despair, Where frightened eyes can see for miles, across the saltbush plains, Where death becomes a great relief, to those who suffer pains. And I who after all these years, look back and still recall, What I consider in my mind, the worst death of them all, When near finished droving, what must have been ten thousand sheep, Out there on those lonely plains, two deaths near made me weep. My dogs and I were droving, two thousand for the shed, On a station north-west of Balranald, where I’d always see ‘em dead, Bogged in the tanks, or near the tracks, bleached bones and dirty wool, Eye-less sockets, (blame the crows), or dingo’s never full. Yet nothing hit me harder, when I noticed white and dull, In the distance to the left of me, an old merino’s skull, With spiral horns of mammoth size, fit for a bar room trophy, Still where the old ram met his death, entangled...

    2008-01-24 12:41:26
Almost a year after announcing their new diesel boxer engine at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, Subaru has finally launch it in the UK. The Outback and the Legacy Sports Tourer (aka station wagon) will be on sale in February in the the UK with a 2.0L horizontally-opposed four-cylinder diesel engine. This apparently is the first diesel engine of this configuration ever installed in a production passenger car.The new plant is rated at 150hp and 258 lb-ft of torque with an impressive 4,7 L/ 100 km (41.3 mpg) . That's better than either the Mondeo or Passat diesel wagons and the Subaru has all wheel drive. The Legacy wagon gets from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in a respectable 8.5 seconds, even with this impressive mileage. We can expect to see this engine appear under the hood of the Forester and Imprezza in mid-2010....

    Outback Steakhouse Caesar Salad Dressing.
    2007-05-12 06:40:39
Ask and you shall receive. To answer many requests, I've whipped up this killer clone for the mouth-watering caesar salad dressing from America's favorite steakhouse chain. You can't buy it in the stores, but now you can make it from scratch in mere minutes. Best of all, this dressing keeps for weeks and weeks in the fridge in a covered container (if it's even around that long).1 cup mayonnaise1/4 cup egg substitute1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese2 tablespoons water2 tablespoons olive oil1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice1 tablespoon anchovy paste2 cloves garlic, pressed2 teaspoons sugar1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes, crushed fine1.
