Hardwired networks always work faster but sometimes getting from point A to point B involves running wires through the shower or up the chimney. Face it, most of our homes were not built for ease of wiring post construction. I have had mixed results with wireless, my present Linksys wireless router works well with my Trendnet USB wireless NIC and my built in wireless in my PDA and my laptop. The project cost is estimated at around Rs10 crore.Arvind Mills has two retail store formats, Mega Mart Outlet Centres (large discount stores), and the smaller Mega Mart stores. For the short term, Arvind Mills is looking to open eight large stores in cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai, while it plans to expand its smaller stores to tier II cities.With each store requiring an investment of around Rs4 crore, the total outlay of Rs400 crore would be funded from internal accruals. Mumbai-based travel firm TravelPort will be opening 45 retail outlets in malls by March 2008. It has tied up with the Delhi-based Salasar Retail to open travel terminals in Salasar stores. Branded as TravelPort@Salasar, these terminals will provide travel products such as air tickets, hotel packages and cruise packages. The company will also be tying up with Fun Republic and the New Delhi-based Sun City. It is in talks with players like Ansals and DLF. TravelPort is looking at an investment of Rs 3-lakh per outlet. The company has projected a turnover of Rs 100 crore by the end of this fiscal.
