James Edwards: Gustavo Di Padua is one of the most down to earth best guys you will ever meet, and I really hope he comes back next year to win the whole thing! he gave his album to me and it is wonderful, possibly one of the best instrumental albums I have heard in a long time.

Construit en 1926, le Padua mesure 96 mètres entre perpendiculaires.Les "babordais" ont serré la misaine, et, sous petit et grand hunier, le navire monte à l'assaut des lames, popussé par un bon vent frais. Son sillage s'étire sur 8 à 9 nautiques par heure, et l'étrave se rapproche des 55èmes rugissants. Les grains succèdent aux grains, le pont n'est qu'écume, et luisant, le grand voilier roule bord sur bord, escaladant la houle qui se creuse d'heure en heure. La mer devient grosse, le Padua si imposant au port ressemble à un esparre flottant dans la tourmante.La grande coque replonge dans un gouffre plus noir et plus profond. Là haut le ciel noir, en dessous les flots noir et autour le souffle irréel du vent. Encore une centaine de miles avant le Détroit de Lemaire.
