    2008-08-08 22:21:45
Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com is reporting that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a two-year, $11.5 million contract with free agent quarterback Chad Pennington. Pennington, 32, has been a Jet for his entire eight-year career, recording 13,738 yards, 82 passing touchdowns, and a completion percentage of 65.6, which places him first among all-time quarterbacks in NFL [...]...

    Bill Parcells Interview with HBO
    2008-07-24 11:11:20
Managed to round up a clip of the Bill Parcells interview. I did not get to watch the original interview which aired on HBO’s Real Sports on July 22 at 10:00 PM. DRK over on FinsNation does a great job summarizing the interview in the most original way possible. FinsNation style of [...]...

Parcells likes Beck, but "does he have balls?"
    2008-05-22 13:12:53
You know how I've been saying for quite some time now that I think this new regime does indeed like John Beck?  And remember how many people (especially the national media) believed that the selection of Chad Henne meant this new staff doesn't really like Beck?  And remember how I disagreed, saying that passing on Henne at #32 was more of a signal that this regime liked Beck rather than the selection of Henne at #57 signaling they disliked him? Alright.  I don't want to get ahead of myself.  After all, it's still early.  However, the Miami Herald's Greg Cote throws out this little nugget which may be overlooked by some because it's in a blog post about Jason Taylor: For what it's worth, someone I know very well knows someone who recently played golf with Bill Parcells. The subject of Beck came up. Tuna said he likes what he sees of Beck in terms of skills but needed to find out, "Does he have balls?" (Tuna's words). That means the Dolphins need to be convin...

Jason Taylor Mad with Bill Parcells, Tony Sparano and The Miami Dolphins?
    2008-05-21 21:49:00
Folks I’m MAD...what the HELL is this new Miami Dolphins organization doing? Why is my homie, Jason Taylor upset? What is Bill Parcells and the new head coach, Tony Sparano, doing to Jason Taylor? They must be saying or doing some rather brutal things for this loyal and All Star, Pro Bowl Defensive player to not want to participate with his beloved Miami Dolphin teammates. Jason Taylor is a true gentleman and has always been 100% with the Miami Dolphins - a true warrior. Something ain't right folks. Now, I almost lost it when they relaesed Zach Thomas, another true Dolphin...now there after Taylor. I’m telling you, this mess happens every year with this troubled team and I am so tried of it. I do trust Bill Parcells, he’s a proven winner, I feel he is needed here, but what’s going on? Could Bill Parcells be antagonizing, harassing my buddie, Jason(Superman) Taylor? Well, that’s what’s floating around in my Miami Dolphin mind, somebody saying something or somebody doing some...

Williams Claims Parcells Says He’ll Be a Part of the Dolphins in 2008
    2008-05-15 11:18:13
Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is not only going to be on the Fins roster in 2008, he’s also going to be back in the rotation at running back according to comments he claims he was told by new Dolphins VP Bill Parcells.  In today’s Florida Sun-Sentinel, Williams stated that he was shocked he was [...]...

Parcells Told Jets To Sign Faneca
    2008-02-22 12:17:33
In the Miami Herald, Armando Salguero reports that last year, current Dolphins Executive Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells discussed with the Jets front office about signing Alan Faneca in the offseason, prior to taking the job with Miami. So you heard it here first: The Dolphins will very likely chase Pittsburgh guard Alan [...]...

    Parcells Interested In Pennington?
    2008-01-17 12:49:01
Miami Dolphins beat reporters Ben Volin and Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post answered a couple of questions from fans yesterday. This particular one caught my interest. Vicki, Youngstown, Ohio: Edgar, who is Bill Parcells going to target at the quarterback position to lead the Dolphins to the promised land? Edgar Thompson: That’s the $64,000 [...]...

Done Deal: Parcells Inks 4 Year Contract
    2007-12-20 11:01:58
There’s no backing out of this one now. Bill Parcells has officially signed his 4 year contract to become the VP of Operations for the Miami Dolphins. Tough couple of weeks for Dolphins employees coming up. Time to walk around on eggshells as Parcells decides whether or not to clean house. Opinions on [...]...

    Parcells to Dolphins, Wayne Reneging
    2007-12-19 19:42:00
Huge news being reported by multiple sources tonight: Bill Parcells accepted an 11th hour offer by the Miami Dolphins to become the VP of Football Operations, just hours after all but accepting a similar position with the Atlanta Falcons. The key reason why he chose the Dolphins was a phone call from Wayne Huizenga apparently expressing his desire to keep the team. Whether or not this promise means he won't sell the team outright or a portion of the team to minority owners is unknown. All we know now is that it was enough to sway Bill into all but signing a 4-year deal with Miami.Barring a last second change of heart (nothing is official yet), Bill will take over football decisions and have the power to bring in new coaches and personnel men. What this means for Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller is unknown at this point. If Parcells can sway Cowher into coaching again, that would be an amazing turnaround for a franchise with no stable figureheads that people can believe in.As far as Parce...

Report: Parcells accepts 4 year deal w/ Dolphins
    2007-12-19 18:10:15
The Miami Herald is reporting that Bill Parcells has indeed accepted the job: Former NFL coach Bill Parcells has agreed to a four-year deal proposed by owner Wayne Huizenga to make him the team's head of football operations, a source has told The Miami Herald. Huizenga was at the Dolphins' training facility for approximately one hour, from 4:45 p.m. to just before 6 p.m., where he met with Cam Cameron in the coach's office. The futures of both Cameron and general manager Randy Mueller are currently unknown. The above comes from Armando Salguero. Salguero also posted this in his blog: The Bill Parcells deal is done. It is for four years according to a source. Hank Goldberg of WQAM radio in Miami tells me that his sources say Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga has agreed NOT to sell the Dolphins for the four years so he could land Parcells. The Dolphins are expected to introduce Parcells before the end of this week, barring a last-minute glitch in negotiations. Huizenga p...

Dick Jauron Getting Love from Bill Parcells
    2007-12-04 20:34:18
Good to see that a respected football mind, such as the one Bill Parcells possesses, is noticing the steady hand of Dick Jauron (media courtesy of ESPN Video): Very cool stuff indeed. We discussed last week Jauron's being a good fit in Buffalo; it's nice to have that opinion backed up by a guy as intelligent as Parcells. Jauron's going to get this team to the post-season; it's just a matter of when....

Parcells won't rule out coaching again
    2007-05-25 14:29:16
USA Today ran an interesting Q&A with Bill Parcells Wednesday. Parcells, who resigned as Cowboys coach after last season, did not close the door on returning to the sidelines. He also fondly recalled his time with the Giants. Q. At some press conferences last season, when your New York Giants teams were mentioned, you cut your answers short, saying, "Don't get me started about that." Why is that topic such an emotional tug? A. It was the team I got started with. If it wasn't for a lot of those players, I wouldn't have been able to go forward in my career. I may have never been able to go as far as I have. I'm really grateful to them. I stay in touch with an awful lot of them. They were very special to me. Read the full interview here. • Former Giants backup QB Jesse Palmer announced his retirement from the Canadian Football League Wednesday. I didn't even know Palmer was still playing. ...

Classless Cowboys players take shots at Parcells
    2007-05-16 16:38:38
Bill Parcells Over in Dallas it appears to be open season on former coach Bill Parcells. First, running back Julius Jones ripped the legendary Tuna, who resigned after last season. "Maybe I was being told a little bit where to run and wasn't really able to use my instincts," Jones said at minicamp. "Maybe I listened to (Parcells) a little too much and was kind of running like a robot." Next, of course was Terrell Owens, who said he got "nothing" out of his year with Parcells. He was blunt about his feeling that new coach Wade Phillips is easier to play for. "Everybody knows he's a laid-back coach, obviously a little different than Bill. ... I don't think you have to be a disciplinarian to get your point across," Owens said. "I think having a new head coach is good for everybody. "It's a little bit more relaxed. I think you can tell that by the atmosphere in the locker room. I don't think I just have to really spell it out for you, but I t...
