| Portraits | | 2007-11-23 20:13:32 | | The box. The box is a metaphor in itself. It doesn’t exist in any tangible sense, but oh, what a metaphor. What a cliché. Open the cliché and BANG.
There it is.

| Patrick & Ludwika’s Love Portraits | | 2007-06-19 18:28:21 | | Last night I spent the evening with Patrick and Ludwika - friends & clients of mine - who are getting married in August this year. They’d invited me over for a bbq and I suggested we do some shots of them while we waited for our appetites to grow.
They live in a beautiful part of Toronto, near the Bluffs, so we headed down to Bluffers Park and spent some time wandering around, with me often trailing behind with my rather intimidating 70-200mm lens pointing at them.
These guys are so in love and seem to always be having a great time together, so it makes it very very easy to create some really gorgeous images of them. I’ve posted the proofs online if you’re interested : View Slideshow

| 500 Years of Female Portraits | | 2007-06-01 12:30:37 | |
This is an absolutely brilliant video that plays that represents 500 years of female portraiture in Western art, from Da Vinci, to Picasso. Really cool, a very interesting look at society and women, the aesthetics of female beauty, and the changes in art history.
If you keep staring at the eyes, you can even find captivation.

| Photojournalistic engagement portraits, redefining the genre. | | 2007-05-25 15:34:54 | | How can we expect you to know what is involved in an engagement portrait session? The times are-a-changin. Of course, there are still many of you that are looking for a warm and fuzzy moment, photographed in a casual yet sensitive way. But……the push for something different is increasingly in vogue. If you had a favorite photo of your grand parents which would you prefer? Seeing them standing side by side, facing the camera, or your grandmother sitting of your grandfathers’ knee, an arm resting lovingly on his shoulder, listening happily as he played her a song on his guitar.
We marry for the treasures of the heart, for they are the most valuable. Sharing keeps us together, as partners, as friends, as communities. Our goal as photographers is to show you sharing … of course in the coolest most artistic way we can come up with - together. As Mother Teresa said “Love is a verb”.

| Portraits That Convey Personality | | 2007-05-12 22:08:12 | | Working with some of Toronto’s most successful business people over the past 4 years has allowed me to create some really dramatic images. This week I photographed two young entrepreneurs - Sunil & Ravinder Tulsiani, of Tulsiani Investments. Spending just a few hours with these guys, I already learned a lot about them and their very posative, open approach to business and community life.
I’m pleased to share several of the images captured during our shoot.
