| | When 104 wins didn’t get you to the postseason | | 2008-04-11 17:48:00 | | Here’s a really good look at the 1909 Cubs--a team that went 104-49 and lost the National League by 6.5 games to the 110-42 Pirates. It would sure suck to finish the season 55 games over .500 and fail to reach the postseason, but that is when the regular season really mattered. I miss those days. I think I’m in the minority at this point, but I think it’s unfortunate we’ll never see another 100+ win team fail to reach the postseason.

| | Damon: Yankees Will Make Postseason | | 2008-02-22 05:38:00 | | From The Daily News:"We're going to be in the postseason," Damon told the Daily News on Thursday. "I think we're one of the teams to beat.""Toronto probably has the best top-to-bottom pitching around, and the Red Sox, coming off their championship, they're going to be tough," Damon said. "We're hoping to go out and win the East, but if not, we were able to fall back on the wild card last year. I think we have as good a chance as anybody (to win the World Series).""We don't just have young guys c... | | By: Sliding Into Home | | |

Your manliness impresses me most impressively. Your rugged good looks and muscular frame make you a natural for television commercials, I am quite sure. But please, Howie, please, just take a peek in a dictionary the next time you try to use a 75 cent word. The Giants did not [...]... | | By: The Frog Bog | | |
