| | | Bare Your Cleavage With Pride – Like Holly Willoughby | | 2008-07-01 00:16:00 | | The Desperate Housewives gave us some memorable moments with their various cleavage-flashing tricks and for their commendable efforts hardly raised any eyebrows from the viewing audiences. We expected it and I feel it gave a whole new meaning to "making use of what you have". But when Holly Willoughby, host for British television's Dancing on Ice first went on air with her wardrobe of deep-necked dresses and blouses, the controversy that she sparked off was phenomenal. The again the difference in reactions could have something to do with the different audiences involved. Cleavages, you can say, are almost as important as the size of the breasts they nestle among. You might say its typical male mentality which more often than not can drive perfectly well-endowed women to have a breast augmentation. However, this doesn't mean you can underestimate the feminine need for good cleavage and subsequently great breasts. Take Dolly Parton for example. The | | By: Breast Surgery Orange County | | |

| | Family Pride | | 2008-06-16 15:52:27 | | Family Image uploaded by Drab Makyo Family Pride is a relatively new idea towards gay and lesbian pride. The idea of family pride has grown lately as more same sex couples are becoming parents. Gay families are increasing as domestic partner and civil union rights expand, more employers are providing health benefits for partners and their children, and the general acceptance of gays and lesbians is on the rise. ‘Gay Pride’ and ‘Rainbow Pride’ are giving way to the changes to include ‘Family Pride’ as well. Family Pride festivals are fast becoming the replacement for gay families to the traditional and un-family friendly Gay Pride parades. As a lesbian mom with experience in this department, let me tell you that attending a traditional Gay Pride parade with children is not advised.Wifey and I tried to do the Long Beach, CA Pride Parade with the kids one year. | | Mad Pride Movement Part II | | 2008-06-05 19:27:24 | | Violence And Mental HealthWhen I think about the “obviously” mad people of the world, I can’t help but make a limited comparison to Middle Eastern folk living in the western world. When people encounter the obviously mad, don’t they think for a brief moment that they might be dangerous? Don’t we perhaps fear that they will rape our mother, stab our brother or shoot someone famous as they’re walking into the lobby of their penthouse? Do they hear a voice from their god telling them to do it? They may even think there will salvation for them come judgment day, if they do away with the sinful. Have you ever heard “the terrorists” referred to as crazy? I’m not attempting with this post to write anything factual or to suggest solutions. In fact, I have more questions than answers, along with my own experiences, biases and opinions on the subject of madness. The fact that I tip toward madness myself does not make me an expert on it but neither does it preclude me from | | By: The Peace Tree | | |

You completely rock.I also want to thank Pagan Sphinx for the post about The Mad Pride Movement. I wrote this comment. But I wanted to foreground it so as hopefully offer more space to the topic of "madness".Who is mad?I'm fairly certain that the people who make the decisions for us in various government houses all over the world are mad. Yet they will never have to be worried about being discredited or found out as fucking completely insane. What is mad?I'm also fairly certain that mad people are among the most sane people on the planet and that they are less insane and more oppressed because what is commonly defined as sane is so fucking over the top constrictive and merciless.Who gets to decide if I'm mad?I've been called crazy or insane by people who were taught to live in a dissassociative state since they were children. | | The Mad Pride Movement: PART I | | 2008-05-29 17:51:17 | | A shift is taking place among the mental health population and society is beginning to take notice. In the Sunday Times May 11 edition, an article by Gabriella Glasser discusses the Mad Pride movement; an attempt by those who feel stigmatized by mental illness to reclaim the concept of madness, very much the same way that the Gay Pride movement has reclaimed the concept of queerness.Madness has historically been a reason for isolation, cruelty and even death for those who suffered from unknown or misunderstood conditions we now know as psychiatrically based, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic-depression).We’ve come a long way in understanding these conditions, rendering once medically accepted procedures such as lobotomy and antiquated electro-shock therapies (EST) illegal. Pharmaceutical companies have developed increasingly effective medications to treat even the most stubborn forms of psychiatric illness. If I may be allowed to do a bit of reclaiming of my own, where | | By: The Peace Tree
| | Pride of Baghdad | | 2008-05-27 20:38:00 | | Brian K. Vaughan not only has the best first name a person can have, he's also one of my favorite comic authors. As readers of my blog could know, I love his Y: The Last Man series. I also picked up the first collection of another Vaughan series, Ex Machina, which was almost as amazing as Y: The Last Man. Today, when I was saddened to find Barnes & Nobles did not have the second volume of Ex Machina, I decided to pick up another Vaughan work I'd read good things about, Pride of Baghdad.Pride of Baghdad is a fictionalized account of what happened to four lions who escaped from the Baghdad Zoo during the United States invasion of Iraq in 2003. The four lions, or pride as they were, discover that the sky is seemingly falling, granting them their freedom. Alpha male Zill, elder female Safa, younger female Noor, and Noor's cub, Ali, manage to escape the confines of the zoo thanks to errant bombs from an air raid. The lions find that the world outside of the confines of their cage is | | By: Sunrise on the Sufferbus | | |
| | Pigs have more pride | | 2008-05-25 16:19:44 | | So the expenses and allowances of our MPs are being revealed. How many of us are genuinely surprised to hear that some bare-faced cheek has been applied by our representatives when making their claims against the public purse? What's that I hear? Silence. Some examples: Health Minister Ann Keen drawing £100k allowances against the procurement of a luxury Westminster flat; she and her husband insuring their lives for £430k and claiming the premiums; David Cameron claiming £1,742 per month on mortgage payments; Margaret Beckett's £19,000 claims for housing costs, including 120 visits by her gardener. All of today's papers have a set of favourite 'shocker' claims to report. It's clear why MPs were so reluctant for this information to be revealed, and their spending over many years was quite blatantly done in the sure knowledge that it would never come to light. To counter accusations of porcine gluttony, defenders state that no rules have been broken. But setting yo | | By: NoBollocksPolitics | | |

Men's magnetic bracelets however, are a vital exception in the sense that they are both stylish and therapeutic. The designs are specifically made for the gentleman's taste. You have the freedom to choose a variety of materials with magnetic forces that supposedly treat physical ailments. For Men Only Since men are supposed to be considerably more active than women, they are also prone to various physical problems like wrist and joint pains, muscle spasms and the like. | | Puff That Chest With Pride: | | 2008-04-16 07:46:00 | | There are some men who huff, puff and go through all the required paces, but still face the disappointment of seeing their chests refusing to gain that buffed, hard-muscled look. And then again, there are those who achieve that kind of a chest by simply having a pectoral implant. If women can enhance their breast size via breast augmentation, than the options available for men are bound to include pectoral implants. The procedure works on the same lines as a breast implant procedure. An implant made of solid silicone (unlike the softer gel implants used for women) is inserted under the pectoralis muscle in the chest area. The incision is usually hidden in the arm pits. Even if you change your mind, the implants are easily removable with the recovery time for removal being less than what it was for insertion. A reversal of this procedure should be avoided though unless it is for health reasons.A few important issues have to be considered before having this plastic surgeryprocedure. | | Carnival Pride Review Of a Wonderful Ship | | 2008-04-04 13:07:25 | | There it was, the Carnival Pride, sitting majestically in port awaiting the arrival of the next group of guests to sail to the Mexican Riviera. I was pumped! I had been on cruises before but this was the first seven night cruise I had been on. I couldn't wait to board the ship and see our stateroom, and get started on our next adventure. We were setting sail out of Long Beach California for the Mexican Riviera. Our trip would take us to Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. It was October and according to the Carnival website the weather down in Mexico would be beautiful. They were right. We had a Balcony Stateroom with an extended balcony and we were cruising with family who were in the staterooms next to ours. After some trying and signing agreements we were able to get the doors opened between balconies so we could all sit out together and relax and watch the ports come and go. I highly recommend getting a port side room when cruising, especially when you have a balcony room | | By: European Cruise Vacation Travel Guide

I found this article in the http://www.growthbusiness.co.uk/ news letter and it was by Michael Jackson who is the chairman of Elderstreet Investments, a leading technology venture capitalist which he founded in 1990. He was formerly chairman of Sage, the FTSE-100 accounting software group with which he was closely involved for over 20 years, since its unquoted days. For about half of a given calendar year (March, April, September-December), that's been run of the mill - the Bills haven't made the playoffs for eight seasons; haven't even come close most of the time. But nothing has happened this week, other than the retirement of our offensive line coach. It's hard to fathom how it's been a bad week considering the lack of substantial news, but it has. Amazing. Put aside the fact that the Bills have been without an offensive coordinator or a GM for two weeks, and have done little (publicly, at least) to rectify the situation. We've discussed that here before, and it certainly has been a factor in this hellish week. But do you know what's worse? | | Pride and Gay Drug Addiction | | 2008-01-03 17:14:19 | | Research has shown us that drug addiction in the gay community is higher than the heterosexual community. So what!!!!! As with the heterosexual community, pride will keep us from seeking addiction treatment. Pride will keep us from asking for help with almost anything. It is not until we have lost what we value most where we put our pride in our pockets and ask for drug addiction help.
The opposite from pride is humility, supposedly a key ingredient in addiction recovery. I agree. My drug addiction was killing me. I tried everything I could to stop, but it was impossible. I just didn’t want anyone to think I needed them. Finally my drug addiction got to be too much and I didn’t care what anyone else thought. I needed drug addiction help NOW and needed it bad.
My pride almost killed me, not my drug addiction. When I entered drug addiction treatment I found out I was not the only one. Every gay man and woman I spoke to understood how pride kept them out there longer. Today, it is not my pride I talk about, but my gratitude for drug addiction treatment. Without the drug addiction help, I never would have found drug addiciton treatment. Today, asking for help is easy, not comfortable, but easy.
For drug addiction help, Forget pride and Call 1-800-511-9225 NOW!!!!!!!!!

| | Kamanarimon: Asakusa's Pride | | 2008-01-03 08:25:00 | | Kamanarimon means thunder gate. This is probably one of Japan's most popular temples frequently visited by locals and foreigners. A huge lantern in its gate displays the kanji, kamanari and mon. The facade is spectacular especially for those who have not seen such huge temples like this one. Going to Asakusa via subway can be done in two ways. Either take the Ginza line (the yellow) or the Asakusa (the pink one). The temple is right next to the station so it is easy to find.Way back in the Philippines, I only see this picture in my Nihongo dictionary and with some tourists with picture on this site. Recently, I was able to view its magnificent beauty. This temple also houses to a lot of shops selling sweets, tokens, pasalubongs and a lot about Japan and its culture. You can buy anything Japanese here from Doraemon cellphone slings to geisha, samurai and ninja costumes for all ages. This area is the main temple. A lot of Japanese people visit this every New Year to renew their faith. One of the beautifully lighted pagodas inside the temple. It reminds me of an elementary textbook because I always see this picture during my elementary days on History and Culture books.I am not really a fan of these gods and I don't know their names. Kinda cool but don't stare for a long time. You might get scared. For a Christian foreigner's point of view, this statue looks devilish, isn't it? Scary. | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog | | |

| | PRIDE OF PLACE | | 2007-11-25 22:36:00 | | Layers of Ilonggo RealityThe book, “Iloilo, a rich and Noble Land,” launched last week by the Lopez Group Foundation, uncovers the province’s agricultural, civic and social history that interweave to form the multi-layered Ilonggo reality that gives the province and its people such a strong identity.Ask any Filipino and he will tell you that Iloilo is unlike any other place in the country. She is one of the few places in the Philippines with an identity and image distinct from that of any other province. Filipinos know Iloilo as the gentle, genteel land of smiles, imagining Iloilo days as unfolding graciously and moving in measured choreography of the rigodón, the outdated, stylized dance ritual highlighting each glittering baile (ball) in moneyed mansions. Fiesta mode is what Filipinos imagine Iloilo life to be most of the time: laid-back, peaceful, refined and always celebratory.Another layer of Ilonggo reality overlaps the celebratory layer. Hard-working Ilonggos are vigorously entrepreneurial. In Iloilo, the moneyed and working classes join in business activities that uphold the province as a vital national economic force, a position first attained with the surge of the sugar industry during the later years of the Spanish colonial era. The Manila Daily Bulletin reported in September 1907 that the City of Iloilo was “the metropolis of the Visayan Islands, [the] second city of importance in the archipelago and the greatest market for sugar in this part of the world.” Sugar put Iloilo on the map. In the 1850s, Nicholas Loney, a British merchant, settled there and “fostered the opening up of the sugar lands of Panay and Negros.” Loney introduced new technology, improved yield, and improved the quality of Iloilo sugar to world-market standards.Read More:UnrivaledMobility, dignityRomantic viewHeritage surprisessource: http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/ | | By: Pro Pinoy | | |

But, it was very nice weather, and I decided to go into town to test my new lens, the Zuiko 7-14mm ED Super Wide Angle. It's amazing what beautiful and sometimes "expressive" photos one can make with this lens. I am glad I can share these with you on my blog...More pictures here.Rick© Copyright // Rick Wezenaar Photography ~ All rights reserved

| | Pride | | 2007-11-04 13:53:00 | | Once the exhilaration of winning the World Series wore off, the high of being on top of the world, the rewarding feeling of months and months of never giving up--I was left with pride. Pride in a sports team is a funny thing. In some ways, it feels as though the Sox are my child, whom I've watched grow up and mature through the vicissitudes of a season, and eventually succeed in life. Yet in another way, the Sox are this huge force I cannot touch, yet I admire and respect, and I dream of being like them. After all, the Sox is a historic organization made up of grown men playing their hearts out, day after day. And I'm proud at what they were able to accomplish. On a third level, I'm proud of the Sox because they are role models, and they are good, humble people who deserved every minute of their accomplishment. They worked hard all season, all offseason, every minute of their lives so that they could give the fans a victory. And I'm so grateful. When we first won, I didn't even know what to do with myself. I kept repeating, "We just won the World Series." Before, every victory was merely a stepping point to a greater stage. Finally, there was nothing to wait for. We had to live in the moment, bathe in the warmth of our satisfaction. Even though it was after midnight, I stayed up to watch all the postgame celebration the FOX televised. My heart was beating so rapidly, I was afraid it would jump out of my chest. There was no greater gift the Red Sox could have given us than this. When I woke up the next morning, I was sleep-deprived, torpid, and sluggish. It was one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced. My entire school seemed to be wearing Red Sox gear, and I was walking on air. The offseason is going to be a long one. Some key players might be involved in trades (cross your fingers that it's not Mike Lowell!), but the core of this team will remain. We are going to be great. We are going to be champions. We're already off to a v | | By: Scarlet Fever | | |
| | PRIDE Fighters At A Disadvantage | | 2007-10-23 17:37:14 | | With the past losses of Mirko Filipovic, the near loss of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and the current loss of Mauricio Rua, it is easy to see the pattern developing. For one reason or another (Quinton Jackson being the exception), these PRIDE guys are having trouble translating their skills to the Octagon. Are the PRIDE fighters overrated, are the UFC fighters better than we all thought, or is it something else entirely? It’s possible that the PRIDE fighters are overrated, but it’s hard to justify when you consider that they’re all world-class athletes who have been fighting their entire lives. Cro Cop doesn’t just knock out Wanderlei Silva, switch boats to the UFC, and then just forget how to fight. Similarly, Nogueira shouldn’t go from hanging with Fedor to barely beating journeyman Heath Herring. It just doesn’t make logical sense. And while Shogun looked absolutely brilliant at times against Griffin (with his rolls, submission attempts and strikes), he looked downrigh | | By: The Irish Whip | | |
| | UFC 75: Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Defeats Dan Henderson, Unifies the UFC and Pride Light Heavyweight Belts | | 2007-09-09 06:31:54 | | UFC 75 had very entertaining fights.Mirko CroCop failed to redeem himself against Cheick Kongo after his most recent loss to Gabriel Gonzaga. In the beginning of the match, CroCop kept Kongo backpedaling. This aggressive style seemed to work well and allowed him to totally neutralize Kongo. Amazingly, Mirko was able to put Kongo in a full mount and almost achieved an armbar in the skirmish. In the second round, however, Cheick Kongo came out on the attack and scored a takedown. He also demonstrated a pretty decent ground game. When the two rose again, Kongo landed some devastating knees to the body in the clinch. In the final round, Crocop got kneed in the groin, but Kongo was relentless. Consequently, Crocop was simply reacting to the onslaught instead of being the aggressor. To be honest, he looked very slow and it appears he has passed his prime. Nevertheless, he left us with some great memories.Later on the card, the fight between Michael Bisping and Matt Hamill was very en | | By: Copious Dissent - Your Daily Dose of Liberty | | |

| | The Transition From PRIDE To UFC | | 2007-07-31 20:33:00 | | As more and more PRIDE fighters continue to pour into the UFC organization, it has become apparent that the transition from PRIDE to the UFC is a much more difficult one then first suspected. When the deal was initially struck between the two organizations not much was made about how the fighters would respond to not only a different rule set, but a whole different environment. Much like any other top level athlete, fighters are creatures of habit. Any little change in environment can make a huge impact when it comes to a fighters performance. So why has the transition between the two organizations been such a tough one so far? From a fans perspective the differences between the two different organizations seems minimal. So what if theres an octagon instead of a ring? So what if the UFC has 3 x 5 minute rounds instead of PRIDES 20 minute fight which features a 10 minute first round with 2 subsequent 5 minute rounds? While these differences may seem insignificant for the fans the fact of | | By: The Irish Whip | | |
| | Ranking The PRIDE FC Light Heavyweights | | 2007-07-25 06:51:00 | | Prior to Zuffa's buyout of PRIDE and its stars, one could easily suggest that PRIDE held the most stacked Light heavyweight division of all-time. Between veterans Wanderlei Silva, Ricardo Arona, and Dan Henderson along with newcomers Quinton Jackson and Mauricio Rua (pictured), you'd be hard pressed to find a more stellar group of fighters. Yes, they're all superstars in their own right, but who is the best?In order to rank the Light heavyweights, I chose the top guys (in my opinion) and looked at their "quality wins," meaning a win against any other member of the group. With apologies to Alistair Overeem and Ninja Rua, I went through the quality wins of the following fighters (in no order): Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Ricardo Arona, Quinton Jackson, Mauricio Rua, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. After examining their quality wins, I was able to eliminate two from contention and rank the top 5.Not enough information: Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ramea | | By: The Irish Whip | | |
| | UFC vs. PRIDE: An Interpromotional Event | | 2007-07-04 14:48:00 | | Some of the most novel ideas in MMA history have been created through the development of team events. The very first PRIDE Bushido event was billed as Team Japan vs. Team Gracie. UFC 58 was called U.S.A. vs. Japan. The IFL is nearing the end of an extremely successful season and will soon break into the black. Meanwhile, most MMA events are dominated by fight teams or "camps" going at one another and comparing victories. With all this taking place, it is surprising to me that there was never an interpromotional event between the UFC and PRIDE. If there was one, what would it look like? Who would fight? And most importantly, who would win. It's harder to talk about this now, with the recent popularity of jumping ship to the UFC. Since it'll never happen on its own, I bring you the fight card for the first ever, completely made up UFC vs. PRIDE event card. It's been developed as if it were six months ago...when PRIDE had Shogun, Rampage, and The Axe Murderer under its juris | | By: The Irish Whip | | |
| | The PRIDE Top Twenty | | 2007-06-30 07:26:00 | | Earlier this week, I went through every single UFC event (88 of them) while I tracked every win and loss for every UFC fighter (529 of them). After a little bit of pressure from Masson, but mostly due to my own obsessive-compulsive nature, I've now been through every single PRIDE FC event card, tracking wins, losses, and draws once again. After 69 total events and 307 fighters, I now present to you the Top Twenty Of Pride. Am I more out of my mind than before? You bet.Anyway, here is the spreadsheet on which I worked for so long to create. When you find a mistake, email me so I can change it. Remember, it's ONLY PRIDE bouts. As before, there was a minimum of nine fights needed to be considered for the rankings.1. Fedor Emelianenko (14-0) 1.0002. Mauricio Rua (12-1) .9233. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (16-2) .8894. Takanori Gomi (13-2) .8675. Wanderlei Silva (22-4) .8466. Mirko Filipovic (18-4) .8187. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (8-2) .8008. Sergei Kharitonov (8-3) .7278. | | Top Ten PRIDE Fights Of All Time | | 2007-06-29 23:57:00 | | After I compiled every win and loss for the UFC, I did the same for PRIDE. And now, following my top ten UFC fights post, I feel it necessary to grant PRIDE with the same right. I realized that I've generally neglected PRIDE in the past, and while it is basically a defunct organization, it has still had it moments (incredible ones, no less). And so, I've teamed Masson up (believe me, it's better that I stay out of this one) with three Sherdog.com experts. Let's see what they have to say...We adapted criteria from Extremeprosports.com in order to form our own criteria (below) for our Top Ten lists.1. The fight itself had to have significant drama. In other words, each fighter, at one point or another, must have been in a position to win the fight.2. The bigger stage, the better. Non-championship bouts didn't get as much love as those giving out belts.3. Only PRIDE FC bouts were considered.Masson Liang's Top Ten10. Joachim Hansen vs. Yves Edwards (Bushido 9)9. But oh no, I found that it is a confusing and often misidentified plant. No matter exactly what it is called this plant was blooming beautifully and I saw it from quite a distance. When I checked the tag I saw it said D. scabra ‘Pride of Rochester’. According to Wikipedia: “Identification can be difficult, and in particular, many of the plants in cultivation sold as D. scabra are actually D. crenata (Huxley 1992). Some species are sometimes known as "Pride-of-Rochester" in cultivation.” And “Identification of the species is very difficult, requiring often microscopic detail of the leaf hairs and seed capsule structure.” So I give up. | | Become an instant Pride 34 winner! | | 2007-06-08 05:47:00 | | Well, almost. An unknown fighter or fan (perhaps?) has decided to have their trophy auctioned off on Yahoo! The trophy is from Pride 34’s ‘Kamikaze’ event, which took place on April 8, 2007 in the ever popular Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event featured some big names such as: Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Ricardo Arona, Kazuyuki Fujita, and many more. Who is it you ask? Beats me, I’m going to go ahead and assume it’s one of the Japanese fighters because the auction page is in Japanese. Current bid is going at 8,000 Yen with a minimum bid of 120,000 Yen, which is roughly $660 and $989, respectively. So, some chump change is all it takes to be winner (kind of).
