Lindsay Lohan picked a pumpkin for Halloween like a ordinary person
    2008-04-11 02:01:00
Lindsay Lohan did the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen her do. She picked a pumpkin for Halloween like a ordinary person. I think I need to lie down. The 21-year-old, who has been enjoying an extended stay at an Cirque Lodge rehab clinic in Sundance, Utah, following her arrest this summer, ventured out to a pumpkin patch in nearby Orem on Monday. "She seems happier," one local, who has seen La Lohan out and about in the area, tells OK!. "I think a lot of people around here are really pushing for h

Roasted Pumpkin and Onion Bisque (Soup) - Thanksgiving Appetizer!
    2007-11-22 13:43:43
As we drift into longer and more chillier nights, and await the first snow, our tongues and minds crave for something hot, comforting and tantalizing. And with Thanksgiving round the corner, we are also looking for recipes that would fit the occasion. And this is one time of the year when you cannot ignore pumpkins, which are mainly cultivated in western hemisphere, and are commonly found in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and India. Honestly, I haven't been a great fan of using this in my recipes, maybe because I haven't developed the taste for it. But 3 days ago I tried the pumpkin soup at my cafe and the flavor struck a chord. It was creamy, rich, a bit of sweet with a touch of onions and savored with italian herbs. And the mere look of the bisque was inviting and soothing at the same time. So I thought I have to share this with my other readers who might have shied away from pumpkin recipes just like me and would never realize how wonderful this recipe could be! The

    More Pumpkin Please
    2007-11-19 19:30:00
So, here's another good pumpkin recipe: Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies! It's an easy recipe and the picturesque cookies have a wonderful golden color. I used Craisins instead of raisins, which I often do because I like Craisins more. I would've liked the pumpkin flavor to be more pronounced but I'm still sure this will be a crowd pleaser.

    Pumpkin Patch Pastorale
    2007-11-19 09:21:00
Ken and I stood, each with an arm around the other's waist, watching our two children run tumbling, tripping, giggling through the enormous field of tangled vines and cumbrous golden gourds. Days like this. They had been a long time coming for our family. Kyle happily slapped the dusty rind of one of the titian giants lying near our feet while Jacqui raced through the field, plucking pink flowers during her gleeful search for the perfect pumpkin. But Ken and I just stood there. Watching. Living. Soaking the moment into our souls, knowing the priceless nature of it. I looked up at Ken with a watery smile and he kissed the top of my head and hugged me tighter. It wasn't so very long ago that things were much different. Days when we saw nothing but the inside four small walls of a hospital room. A tiny baby girl on a ventilator. Through her hospital window, I had seen the green leaves of summer turn color and begin twirling their way to the ground, one by one - and I feared

    Pumpkin Cranberry Bread
    2007-11-18 15:40:00
Hey, it's Thanksgiving and I love pumpkin cakes, breads, and rolls. I don't like pumpkin pie though. For me, it's the texture. Pumpkin pie is like a wet custard and it's usually ultra sweet as well. For a nice and easy quickbread recipe, try this Pumpkin Cranberry Bread. I didn't have two 9x5 loaf pans so I used one 9x5 loaf pan and one 8x8 square glass baking dish. I removed the 8x8 baking dish from the oven at 40 minutes and the loaf pan at 50 minutes. Both came out the same. Yum.Also, the dough looks strong enough to bake free form to make scones. If you try that, let me know how it comes out!

    Pumpkin Power
    2007-11-06 05:59:00
Pumpkins have long been a fascination for me. Like my daughter is now, I was once obsessed with Cinderella and I think that was my first exposure to pumpkins. What a fascination to have too, something that could be turned into a carriage fit for a princess. My kind of vegetable (fruit?) There's always been something magical about them!Growing up in 80's Ireland, pumpkins were nowhere to be seen. Nor did we carry around a hollowed out turnip (rutabaga/swede to Americans/Brits) - those things are hard enough to cut never mind hollow out! My first exposure to the jack-o-lantern was my first Halloween in America. I had joined the girl scouts and we were carving them for Halloween. Imagine my surprise when I found out I had a severe topical allergy to them. My hands swelled up like balloons when I scooped out the seeds. This put me off eating them as God knows what would happen to my insides. It was only a few years later when I accidentally ate pumpkin soup that I realised I was in no danger. I am not a fan of pumpkin pie at all, but on my first Thanksgiving as a new wife, I felt obliged to provide my husband with traditional pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dessert. I had it all prepped and ready to go the night before. It included the addition of a streusel topping half way through baking. I asked Paul to help me lift it out of the oven to apply said topping and it spilled all over the place. When we moved out three years later I found bits of pumpkin still behind the oven!Never fear though, as I was prepared. I made the whole thing again and this time managed to get the streusel on. I got it out of the oven and tripped as I carried it to the counter. Argh! BUT we were in America and 24 hour supermarkets reign supreme, even on national holidays (thank you capitalism) so off I trotted Thanksgiving morning to get more pumpkin. I got home and made the pie and it survived until dessert... where everyone hated it. So that's it. No more pumpkin pie for

    2007-10-17 00:11:00
My husband is a pumpkin pie addict. A pumpkin pie has to be pretty doggone impressive to impress his taste buds and he gave this one two thumbs up. More importantly, Jacqui LOVED it! For the first time ever, I got to watch my little girl enjoying a slice of pumpkin pie with Daddy... this recipe is a keeper! My starting point for this recipe came from Sarah at RealLife. Bashing the New Smashing Pumpkin Guitarist
    2007-08-16 00:18:38
Burn-out Smashing Pumpkins members Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlan held a 13 minute YouTube Q & A interview yesterday. You got to love the great guitar work from their songs throughout the years, but holy Moses you can tell by the interview that the members of the group aren't hungry at all anymore. Worse, they make me (at least) want to fall asleep. The only good thing about the interview was hearing a little bit about Billy Corgan's setup: Custom-built Strat with Dimarzio pickups Diezel Herbert Amp (German) "Weird Effects Pedals" with German names, so he couldn't pronounce them From what I can tell the Smashing Pumpkins new album "Zeitgeist" has some solid guitar work from newcomer Jeff Schroeder. But not that great... Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today, but I feel the urge to severely rip on one of my all-time favorite bands in this highly one-sided post. SP, I love you/I hate you. The sunflower that's not a Sunflower [Pumpkin Flower]
    2007-07-12 03:20:00
Bright yellow Pumpkin vine flowerYellow Pumpkin FlowerWhenever I look at this flower I'm reminded of the sun. The vibrant yellow color and the flower's ray-like petals are like an ancient Greek portrayal of the sun, with it's flares of yellow shining out from the center orb. However, this flower is really only a humble Pumpkin flower, shown here in front of the Pumpkin vine's leaves. This is very much a "standard" type of shot from a compositional standpoint - the main object of the photo is centered in the frame, and the background is very plain so as not to attract attention. This photo is an example of how you don't really need any fancy framing or exposure modes and settings to take a good photo - this photo was taken in point-and-shoot mode! This photo taken with the Sony DSC-H1 camera.Related Photos:Balloon Vine flower with water dropletsThe Egg Plant shows it's true colors... Rosie O'Donnell "quit" the TV show, "The View," on Friday.Yeah, sure she "quit."She's an embarrassment to TV, as well as the ABC network. It's no surprise that's she gone early. You have to figure she would hang around for the phony "tributes" that would have come her way on that show when she announced when her last day would be. So she had to be pushed.Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Lard Ass.(That picture on the right looks a little like her, no?)

What Kind Of Pumpkin Are You?
    2006-11-01 02:10:00
Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin.God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff-- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.
