An epidural catheter is placed in the epidural space. The epidural space lies between the dura mater and the vertebral column. When an opioid is injected into the epidural space, it binds to opiate receptors located on the dorsal horn of the spinal cord and blocks the transmission of pain impulses to the cerebral cortex of the brain. Because the opioid does not cross the blood-brain barrier, pain

    1) Can a class be it’s own event handler? Explain how to implement this. Ans: Sure. an example could be a class that extends Jbutton and implements ActionListener. In the actionPerformed method, put the code to perform when the button is pressed. 2) Why does JComponent have add() and remove() methods but Component does not? Ans: because JComponent is a subclass of Container, and can contain other components and jcomponents. 3) How would you create a button with rounded edges? Ans: there’s 2 ways. The first thing is to know that a JButton’s edges are drawn by a Border. so you can override the Button’s paintComponent(Graphics) method and draw a circle or rounded rectangle (whatever), and turn off the border. Or you can create a custom border that draws a circle or rounded rectangle around any component and set the button’s border to it. 4) If I wanted to use a SolarisUI for just a JTabbedPane, and the Metal UI for everything else, how would I do that? Official Answers to your referrals retirement questions
    2008-07-17 04:39:37
Since our announcement about retiring AdSense Referrals during the last week of August, we've noticed a number of questions in your blog comments and in our Help Forum. In this post, we'll address some of the most frequently asked questions. When you say 'AdSense Referrals' are being retired, does this only mean the program where I refer publishers to AdSense? No, all referrals will be retired. This applies to referrals for AdWords advertisers, as well as for Google products. What's the deadline for generating referral conversions once the program has been retired? In order for you to be credited for a conversion, the referred user must complete the required action by the last week of September 2008. However, please keep in mind that your referral units will no longer display after the last week of August. I have referral earnings in my account, but they haven't been included in a payment yet. Will I lose all past referral earnings? No. If you've had su

Jacksonville Jaguars Offseason Questions: Pass Rush Improved?
    2008-07-17 00:14:15
With training camp just around the corner (July 26th), Big Cat Country is taking a look at the progress made by the Jaguars to address their biggest offseason questions.  Today's episode revolves around the addressing the pass rush.  Where to Begin: (not) Under Pressure When the Jacksonville Jaguars left the playoffs after a painfully disappointing and embittering loss to New England, the offseason needs wrote themselves.  The Jaguars had just participated in the Tom Brady passing school, where an ineffective pass rush had allowed Brady to complete 26 of 28 passes, a number that would haunt the Jaguars defense.  The front four of the Jaguars struggled during the 2007 season to bring effective and consistant pressure against opposing quarterbacks.  For the Jaguars, this led to a multitude of problems, from allowing opponents to come back into games to forcing the secondary to cover receivers for so long that finding the open man was only a matter of time.&nb

Answers to Questions and Exercises: Concurrency
    2008-07-09 08:26:46
QuestionsQuestion: Can you pass a Thread object to Executor.execute? Would such an invocation make sense? Why or why not? Answer: Thread implements the Runnable interface, so you can pass an instance of Thread to Executor.execute. However it doesn't make sense to use Thread objects this way. If the object is directly instantiated from Thread, its run method doesn't do anything. You can define a subclass of Thread with a useful run method — but such a class would implement features that the executor would not use. ExercisesExercise: Compile and run BadThreads.java: public class BadThreads { static String message; private static class CorrectorThread extends Thread { public void run() { try { sleep(1000); } catch (InterruptedException e) {} //Key statement 1: message = "Mares do eat oats."; } } public static void main(String args[]) throws InterruptedException { (new CorrectorThread()).start()

18 Questions To Help You Define Your Day Trading Edge
    2008-07-07 12:38:03
Many people in corporations have spent countless days and countless dollars working to define their Unique Selling Propositions (USP's) so that the public gets a clear, concise, benefit-driven message. The USP is also the "edge" which make these businesses stand out among their peers. In day trading, you need to define YOUR edge to help you become clear on what it is that makes you money on a CONSISTENT basis, both now and well into the future. If you think about it long enough, chances are that you will have at least one good edge which you can use to define your trading edge; and most likely it will be a personality trait that separates you from the rest. You may not know your edge at this time, however, so spend a few hours with and ponder these areas when determining what sets you apart from all of the other traders in the marketplace:Start with your personality traits and what makes you a better trader than someone else:- Are you faster on the keyboard than most other people?- Do yo

Thinking About Getting A Credit Card? Consider Asking These Questions Before You Commit Yourself
    2008-07-07 12:02:43
Maybe you're looking to get your first credit card or shopping around for a new one. Before you lock yourself into a particular credit card make sure you get the answers to these questions first!1. What is the interest rate?Make sure you find out what the interest rate will be for the credit card you're considering. The lower your interest rate the better it is for you if there is a balance on your credit card. So find out this information up front. If the interest rate quoted is higher, keep looking for a credit card company that will give you a good rate. Of course, the key to getting a lower interest rate is your overall credit.By the way, beware of teaser low introductory rates that a prospective creditor may offer you to sign up for their credit card. Make sure to ask them if you will continue to get this low rate for a long period of time and not for just a month or two. You will find that if you get reeled into getting a credit card with a low introductory rate, your interest ra

What is a Assembly? √ Assembly is unit of deployment like EXE or a DLL. √ An assembly consists of one or more files (dlls, exe’s, html files etc.), and represents a group of resources, type definitions, and implementations of those types. An assembly may also contain references to other assemblies. These resources, types and references are described in a block of data called a manifest. The manifest is part of the assembly, thus making the assembly self-describing. √ An assembly is completely self-describing.An assembly contains metadata information, which is used by the CLR for everything from type checking and security to actually invoking the components methods. As all information is in the assembly itself, it is independent of registry. This is the basic advantage as compared to COM where the version was stored in registry. √ Multiple versions can be deployed side by side in different folders. These different versions can execute at the same time without interferi

    2008-06-12 23:10:00
Chances are you'll have never met a reverse mortgage lender before but you'll be placing your home and your future happiness in their hands. 10 Questions You Should Ask Your Health Insurance Agent
    2008-06-12 23:04:00
If you are a business owner, self-employed or an employee of a company that is not offering medical coverage though your employer, you may have to undertake the frustrating, daunting and time consuming task of purchasing health insurance on your own. If this is the case, there are certain things that you can do as a consumer to ensure that you are purchasing the type of health insurance coverage you really need at a price you can afford. When you purchase a health insurance plan, you must achieve a balance between four important variables; wants, needs, risk and cost, before you spend your money. Although you may “want” a health plan that offers you 100% coverage and a $5 co-pay for prescription medications, you may not “need” this type of health plan if you are healthy, take no medications and do not have any significant health related “risk” factors. Since a 100% health plan may “cost” significantly more than a health plan with 80/20 coverage, it may not be in your bes

Before you rush to pay off student loans, a new car loan or other obligations, talk to your lender. Paying off bills may be a bad idea if it depletes your savings or reduces your down payment. Q1: What are the advantages of OOPL? Ans: Object oriented programming languages directly represent the real life objects. The features of OOPL as inhreitance, polymorphism, encapsulation makes it powerful. Q2: What do mean by polymorphisum, inheritance, encapsulation? Ans: Polymorhisum: is a feature of OOPl that at run time depending upon the type of object the appropriate method is called.Inheritance: is a feature of OOPL that represents the "is a" relationship between different objects(classes). Say in real life a manager is a employee. So in OOPL manger class is inherited from the employee class.Encapsulation: is a feature of OOPL that is used to hide the information. Q3: What do you mean by static methods? Ans: By using the static method there is no need creating an object of that class to use that method. We can directly call that method on that class. For example, say class A has static function f(), then we can call f() function as A.f(). There is no need of creating an o

Q1: How can we store the information returned from querying the database? and if it is too big, how does it affect the performance? In Java the return information will be stored in the ResultSet object. Yes, if the ResultSet is getting big, it will slow down the process and the performance as well. We can prevent this situation by give the program a simple but specific query statement.Q2: What is index table and why we use it?Index table are based on a sorted ordering of the values. Index table provides fast access time when searching.Q3: In Java why we use exceptions? Java uses exceptions as a way of signaling serious problems when you execute a program. One major benefit of having an error signaled by an exception is that it separates the code that deals with errors from the code that is executed when things are moving along smoothly. Another positive aspect of exceptions is that they provide a way of enforcing a response to particular errors.Q4: Write a code in Perl that makes a conn

Q1) What is the purpose of garbage collection in Java, and when is it used? The purpose of garbage collection is to identify and discard objects that are no longer needed by a program so that their resources can be reclaimed and reused. A Java object is subject to garbage collection when it becomes unreachable to the program in which it is used. Q2) Describe synchronization in respect to multithreading. With respect to multithreading, synchronization is the capability to control the access of multiple threads to shared resources. Without synchonization, it is possible for one thread to modify a shared variable while another thread is in the process of using or updating same shared variable. This usually leads to significant errors. Q3) How is JavaBeans differ from Enterprise JavaBeans? The JavaBeans architecture is meant to provide a format for general-purpose components. On the other hand, the Enterprise JavaBeans architecture provides a format for highly specialized business

    Garafolo answers BBV 's questions
    2008-06-11 06:00:02
As promised last night, I have an interview with Star-Ledger Giants' beat writer Mike Garafolo for you today. I really appreciate Mike's taking the time to do this with the explosion of news around the Giants lately. I hope you enjoy it. BBV: How do you see the Jeremy Shockey situation playing out? Will he ever be happy as a Giant? More importantly, can he be a dominant player again? MG: When the Shockey rumors were rolling before the draft, I was repeatedly asked what I thought would happen with this situation. At the time, I said there would be no draft-day trade, but I could see a situation in which he held out of camp and was traded in mid-August. Honestly, after the draft, I didn't have a lot of confidence in that prediction because I felt Shockey's being back on the field in minicamp would help heal the wounds in this situation. I still feel that could be the case, but at this point, we're all unsure if Shockey will be there. If he is, I think this situation will be resolved.
