| A quick note on antibiotics.... | | 2008-05-01 08:16:11 | | I was a bit hesitant in giving antibiotics to my oldest when he had the ear infection because I know from my own experience how antibiotics can affect the body and possibly lead to other problems which, of course, would entail another visit to the vet and more medication to counteract the first one. What had concerned me most is during the time he was taking the medication he didn't have the same spunk. He also didn't eat very much and seemed to sleep a lot. I also did some reading and, not unlike humans, I discovered that yogurt will help bring back the "good" bacteria that the antibiotics kill (along with the "bad" bacteria). So, after Bruiser was finally done taking the antibiotics, I'd give him a little bit of my yogurt when I had it in the morning. From the bottom of the cup, I'd dig out a bit on my spoon and hand it to him and he'd lick it off. Rocki, of course, was there as well. Can't give to one without giving to the other! Rocki didn't care for it, and neither did Bruiser, b | | By: All About Shitzus | | |

| | Just a quick note | | 2007-12-22 14:47:37 | | I'm sure a lot of people will visit my blog this days ( until Christmas ) and would want to find some more useful posts, tips and advice on how to monetize your blog, how to advertise it for free or what other low cost promotion methods to use. But I have to tell you something: tomorrow I will leave Pitesti ( my hometown ), for a couple of days, to spend the Christmas with a friend, at the country side. So, this means I won't be posting any fresh content. At least, not until next Wednesday ( 26th December ), when I will return home. You know that everyone needs a break, even us, bloggers. We really need some time to relax, to spend it with our friends, family etc. In fact, even you, as a reader, you need a break. There are moments in our lives when we really feel the need of a well-deserved pause. Indeed, no one says you should actually quit taking care of your blog for a year, or whatever. But a couple of days of blogging-free time will remember you that you also have a family, friends and most of all, a real life, away from your computer. In your quest of making money online, it may happen to forget about all the things I've mentioned above, and become too addicted to your blog, which may be a not so pleasant thing. This is why I've decide that it's time to allow myself a few days off of the blogging business:). As I already mentioned, I will go to meet this friend of mine ( who's not a blogger, by the way, but rather an addicted Counter-Strike player...hahaha ), at the country side and also see my grandparents, which live there. So, all it remains to me now is to wish you all a Merry Christmas, happy holidays and may Santa Claus bring you your most wanted gift:) Take care of yourselves and enjoy the Christmas day next to your loved ones:) Will get in touch again once I'll return home ( on Wednesday, I hope ). Cheers!

| Quick note about EU film festival 2007 | | 2007-11-26 01:55:00 | | This year's movies are really great. I loved the Spanish, French, English and the Italian movie. On the other hand, the short Jordanian movies that preceded each show were nothing but an overdose of discomfort and a desperate try to come up with something creative.

| | Quick Note: Abyss Release Date | | 2007-11-21 13:58:00 | | I just received word from my Deschutes rep that the "Official Release" date for the new batch of The Abyss will be January 14, 2008, and not in December as previously reported. Not surprisingly, I've been told to expect a price increase as well. No word yet on how much of an increase, but I wouldn't be shocked to see it retailing for closer to $10 per bottle this year. Even at that price it's an amazing value for one of the world's best Imperial Stouts. In other Deschutes news, the next beer in the Bond St. Series will be the new Green Lakes Organic Amber. Deschutes Founder Gary Fish describes it as "a classic amber ale using caramel and Munich malts for a nice color and six different varieties of hops. The reddish colored brew has a nicely balanced taste with a distinctive but restrained hop profile that includes Salmon-Safe certified Sterling hops." More on Green Lakes on John Foyston's excellent blog.In even more exciting news, keep your eyes peeled for Dissident, a Flemish Sour Red/Brown ale, scheduled to be released at some point after The Abyss. People will be freaking out over The Abyss, but I have a feeling Dissident is going to be the one to stock up on. I may be wrong, but I have a strong feeling that the crew in Bend is going to blow people's minds (and palates) with this one.EDIT: I just received "real" pricing info from the distributor. Pricing is always somewhat variable once it hits the distributors in different states, but based on what I was quoted you can expect the beer to retail for $10-12 per bottle. | | By: Belmont Station Beer Forum | | |
| | EURJPY, just a quick note⦠| | 2007-10-28 04:14:34 | | Just a quick note on eur/yen (and generally applies to all of the yen crosses) as market continues higher from the Oct 22nd low at 160.60 (also 38% from the Aug low at 149.30. | Quick Note on Language Survey | | 2007-09-11 10:38:18 | | Thanks to everyone who filled up the survey, I’m afraid that even with my printed-out, color-coded attempts, I couldn’t count the votes to come up with easy to read answers. I did though find out what I was interested in, which is that the words in the survey were most familiar to people of Palestinian [...] | | By: And Far Away... | | |

| | Quick Note: Henry's Beer Links | | 2007-05-30 01:42:00 | | I discovered this site a few months ago and meant to post something about it, but it slipped my mind until today when I noticed a couple referral hits on our stat counter. Henry has assembled one of the largest collections of beer-related links of any site on the internet; over 1200 brewery websites, 50+ sites devoted to beer ratings and reviews, and over 400 links to beer stores, distributors, and regional beer directories. Pop on over and check it out, chances are you'll find a few useful pages you didn't know existed.Henry's Beer LinksTags: beer links | | By: Belmont Station Beer Forum | | |
| | A Quick Note | | 2007-05-08 03:23:18 | | I’ve been busy lately, and haven’t been posting as often as I would have liked to. I’ve been working quite a bit at the paper, and my imminent move to Omaha is also slowing me down…
That being said, I’ll have some new stuff up soon. I’m looking at bits on Joe Blanton’s peripheral rates improving over last season, and the historical significance of Derrek Lee’s on-base streak to begin the season, among other things.
Also, I’m going to be in Kansas City for the A’s three-game series against the Royals this week, so expect some photos and such from that.

| | A Quick Note On Stereotyping | | 2006-11-01 03:04:32 | | We were talking about The 300 on the med school discussion board. Of course, a couple of the meatheads mentioned that we would’ve loved to be born in such a time. Which incited me to mention that the Velamas today are a far cry from our warrior past, namely engineers, doctors, and mid-level [...] | | By: Indian Cowboy | | |
