After two rain delays and not much offense, the Cubs-Astros game was called on Monday night with 1-out in the 8th inning with Mike Fontenot at the plate and a 0-1 count against LaTroy Hawkins.
Not even a rain delay could wake up the Cubs offense on Monday night at the Friendly Confines. Before the rain and thunder and lighting caused the first delay of 2 hours and 45 minutes, Brian Moehler mesmerized the Cubs offense for the second time since the All-Star break. The Cubs were very aggressive at the plate and managed only 4 hits in 5 innings without a walk against Moehler and for the second time this homestand, the Cubs were shutout at home.

I noticed that one of the bamboo canes had been sealed with a bright green leaf and finally tracked it down to a golden leafed fuchsia pictured below. They cut carefully in a circular motion as though they have a measuring tool because magically the cropped circles expertly tailored from leaf after leaf - perfectly fit the bamboo canes.

The attacker had been threatening the staff of a baker's shop and Jimmy stepped in to defend them. For his bravery he was rewarded with a slash across his throat with a piece of glass that left him dying in the arms of his brother. For many people this death, if none before have done so, epitomises what is wrong with law and order today. One of my biggest recommendations to clients when they build a new home is to invest in good gutters. The conversation typically turns to the home owner telling me that having gutters in New England is a bad idea because of the snow and ice. I'll leave that arguement / disagreement for another post but I will say that I use them and I never have trouble with ice and snow.The reason that I strongly recommend gutters is simple. An average 1,000 sq. ft. roof will produce over 600 gallons of water from 1 inch of rain! So without gutters you now have 600 gallons of water splashing against your house after it hits the ground and soaking into the ground along your foundation. These pictures I get from Daily Express news.Other people get shock because when these ice rains come, it is like somebody throwing stones at their house. Then, what happen at my house when this thunderstorm and this ice rains occur?
