Smoked Trout Recipe - (How to smoke trout)
    2008-05-11 05:35:33
It was my anniversary yesterday and being a seafood lover I had to order the smoked trout on the menu. It was absolutely delicious and is the inspiration for todays post. Many people don't consider trout when it comes to smoking and they tend to stick with the more traditional smoked salmon. While I consider trout to be one of the best fish to smoke, I find that almost any fish can be smoked and this recipe could also be used on a variety of fish species. This recipe takes quite a while to cook, but is simple to prepare. The ingredients are as follows:Whole TroutBrown SugarRock SaltTable SaltYour favorite seasonings (curry, teragon, lemon etc.)Olive OilLemon JuiceGarlic SaltLemon SlicesThe instructions for this recipe are in the following videoMost good quality smokers can be used for this recipe.

Cardinal Punch Recipe With Frozen Juice Concentrate CARDINAL PUNCH(an excellent non-alcoholic punch)1 pint orange juice1 quart cranberry juice2 lemons squeezed -or- 2 ozs. lemon juice4 quarts ginger aleCombine juices with ice and chill. Pour into a punch bowl over a block of ice.* Add ginger ale.Garnish with a sprig of mint.Serves 44 in punch cups.*We like to make a special block of ice for this. Use a salad mold, if you have a Tupperware, shaped mold, you are in luck; the ice slides out miraculously. Freeze it halfway full of water, place some maraschino cherries on top of that layer of water; freeze briefly, then fill the mold with water and freeze completely. This is functional and attractive.healthrecipes

Anyone who has cherished Indian food knows that the secret magic ingredient that imparts most of the flavor to the food is none other than the famous Garam Masala. How to make beer batter - fish recipe
    2008-04-18 20:49:20
I must admit I love fried seafood and one of my favorite batter recipes is beer batter. It has such a lovely flavor and creates a delicious crispy coating on almost anything you can think of frying. I have personally used it on everything from fish to zucchini fritters and friends always comment on it's flavor and crispiness (and it is a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies!).For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:Plain FlourGround Nut Oil (this can be substituted with other oils)BeerSalt and PepperSpices (optional)Seafood to batterThis recipe is very simple, but it makes great batter. You will probably find that it makes better batter than packet batter and contains much less salt than the packet variety, which is better for your health.I recommend experimenting with different foods to batter as you never know when you will find a gem of a battered dish that you had never thought of (a bit like my Zucchini fritters).Beer Batter RecipeIt is all explained in

Nutrition, Fitness, Relaxation And Sleep - The Recipe For A Healthy Lifestyle
    2008-03-30 21:53:00
I can honestly say I felt at my best when I was in my thirties. I was physically, mentally and emotionally at my peak and firing on all cylinders. Since then, it's definitely gone down hill and I've lost plenty of brain cells and lean muscle. I haven't lost weight though as muscle has been replaced by fat - plenty of it. Over the years it's crept on. I've gained a pound here, a pound there, but regrettably haven't taken action to get rid of it straight away. Now over the past twenty years those pounds have turned into stones, so no prizes for guessing what my New Year's resolution was. I watched a programme on tv over the festive period which was probably cleverly scheduled to prevent people from eating too much over the Christmas break. It was about a poor man who had to lose 30 stone or risk dying. He had reached the point where he couldn't even get out of bed and his whole life was spent in the confines of his four walls. He'd lost all self-esteem, and was physically incapable of do

An Eye For An Eye Will Make The Whole World Blind. - Gandhi... Whoever destroys one life is considered as if he had destroyed the entire world, and whoever saves one life is considered as if he had saved the entire world.. Jewish text Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5 .... God did prescribe to the Children of Israel that whosoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for corruption in the land, it is as though he killed all men; and whoever saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the all mankind; and certainly Divine messengers came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.. RECIPE ARCHIVE.
    2008-02-11 22:05:00
I have decided to move the entire recipe archive from the Companion blog to its rightful place here. The reason for their location on the "other" site is historic (and related to my gross ignorance of blog-things when I started my little experiment). It might take me a little time to change all the links to this archive from various posts. The recipe archive up to October 2007 will stay on the Companion blog.Recipes from posts to the end of OCTOBER 2007 have been added to the archive so far. It is the world's most boring job, so I have let it lapse. I will try to keep it up to date from now on.Recipes are listed according type and date. There are now over 700 recipes here!!!NEW recipes will be added to the bottom of each list, so if you haven't stopped by for a while, that's the place to look. Yes - in some ways an alphabetical list would be easier - but the old recipe names do not lend themselves to alphabetising that would make a great deal of sense today, and besides, it would be

Fish Recipe: Brown Stew Fish (video)

Traditional Jamaican Brown Fish StewDifficulty: Easy - Medium Preparation Time: 1 Hour (Marination time)Cooking Time: 10 MinutesThis fish recipe is a traditional Jamaican recipe called brown stew fish. The ingredients should be available to most people around the world and if you can't find a certain ingredient then I am sure it can be substituted. This recipe could be used with any fish, but I would certainly recommend using something that stays together when fried. It is certainly not the hardest dish I have ever made and the results were very delicious.

With a spatula put the egg white mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 2-inch meringue “kisses” on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, at least 2 inches apart. Bake in
