| COMPOSITING RENDER PASSES | | 2008-06-19 17:52:00 | | Making tweaks in 3D can be time consuming, making the changes in a compositing package can be quite fast. This quick tutorial will show you the benefits of rendering in layers. Step 1 - Build a SceneI've built a white plane that's purely for shadows, a green ball and a red teapot. I've then thrown in an area light (mental ray). By default, it'll render out looking something like this. The reflection on the red teapot is at 100%. The ball also has a 100% reflection. I've put the specular up to be fairly matte, but bright enough I'll be able to change it later. Basic stuff Nasty Results Step 2 - Setting up the passesWe're going to split the render off into basic sets. Diffuse, Lighting, Specular and Reflection. Bring up your render panel and go to Render Elements. Add all the above passes. Select diffuse and untick Lighting. The Render Elements Panel In your Common panel, set a file save location. Render. Step 3 - Rendering An Ambient Occlusion PassThese are just always handy t... | | By: VISUARQ | | |

| RENDER USING HDRI REFLECTIONS! | | 2008-06-05 15:30:00 | | Source: Pyros (www.3dkingdom.org) First of all, here’s a short description of what HDR is. It’s a very usefull format that we encounter in different programs of Global Illumination (GI), like Vray, Brazil, and others, and now can be utilized by all the users of MAX. With this tutorial, I intend to explain the basic process for creating good HDRI effects on models. You can experiment a lot with materials and different possibilities that are offered by using HDR Images. The "dynamic range" of a scene is the Contast Ratio between its brightest and darkest parts. A plate of evenly-lit mashed potatoes outside on a cloudy day is low-dynamic range. The interior of an ornate cathedral with light streaming in through its stained-glass windows has high dynamic range. In fact, any scene in which the light sources can be seen directly is high dynamic range for it is high in Contrast. A High-Dynamic Range Image is an image that has a greater dynamic range than can... | | By: VISUARQ | | |

| 3d Video Animation Render | | 2008-01-21 23:58:00 | | Pleasant 3D animation of a site viewing from a bird's eye view. Some still renders and fly-throughs but the aspect that caught my attention was the way the Site Plan was animated from above. Gentle camera movements and warm colors achieved was inviting in my opinion...I guess it also depends on who is viewing the film. 3d animation by UokU.... | | By: The 3-Dimensional Dream | | |

| Render to Caesar: Jesus, the Early Church, and the Roman Superpower | | 2007-08-20 19:03:00 | | Author: Christopher BryanPaperback: 208 pagesPublisher: Oxford University Press, USA (July 2005)Language: EnglishISBN: 0195183347(R)At the end of the 20th century, "postcolonialism" described the effort to understand the experience of those who had lived under colonial rule. This kind of thinking has inevitably brought about a reexamination of the rise of Christianity, which took place under Roman colonial rule. How did Rome look from the viewpoint of an ordinary Galilean in the first century of the Christian era? What should this mean for our own understanding of and relationship to Jesus of Nazareth? In the past, Jesus was often "depoliticized," treated as a religious teacher imparting timeless truths for all people. Now, however, many scholars see Jesus as a political leader whose goal was independence from Roman rule so that the people could renew their traditional way of life under the rule of God. In Render to Caesar, Christopher Bryan reexamines the attitud... | | By: GanEden For Books | | |
