    The Right Thing to Do
    2008-08-26 21:00:00
Residents of Vallejo, California, are facing a public safety crisis right now. The cityls declared bankruptcy, and crime is rising . Police are leaving the force for better-paying jobs in other cities, and there’s no real solution in sight. It wouldn't solve every problem facing the local leaders in Vallejo, but I think Solano County, where Vallejo is located, should treat concealed-carry as "Shall-Issue," rather than keeping the very restrictive policies that are currently in place....(read more)...

Did I do the right thing?
    2008-07-30 12:43:21
A little while ago while walking outside barefoot, I stepped on a piece to something with a half-inch, flat-ended screw at the end of it.  The screw went all the way into the arch of my foot.  It was pretty dirty.  The nurse I called said to go get a tetanus shot and I even called my husband home from work so I could go and everything.  But by the time he got here I started having second thoughts about having a shot while being pregnant.  You might remember that we don't vaccinate our children for anything and I couldn't bear the thought of having this shot "just in case" and it having adverse affects on my baby girl.  After deliberating about it, I finally sent my husband back to work and just decided to watch the wound.  It was a case of which is more likely, getting tetanus or affects of vaccine?  Hard to tell as both are probably very rare.  What do you think?...

Say the right thing, get more appointments, get more commissions
    2008-05-29 00:06:33
I was recently speaking to an agent who had just started working some leads from his website.  He was excited that he was actually getting leads from his website, but he really needed to start getting some commissions.  When I asked him how many appointments he had been able to get in the last week [...]...

Sarno and the city's trash fee: doing the right thing in the wrong way..
    2008-05-23 07:48:48
Domenic Sarno made a number of different promises when he campaigned for mayor of Springfield, MA last fall, but the promise that probably got him the most votes was his promise to eliminate the $90 annual trash fee imposed by Springfield's Control Board.Well, this year's budget was finally been released, and the $90 trash fee is still a part of the budget-- but Sarno says he intends for the city to move to a "pay as you throw" system.People are angry, rightly so, but I hope Springfield's residents don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. "Pay as you throw" is a good system, but Sarno has gone about it all wrong. Anger should focus on the process rather than the content of his proposal And we are right to be angry about his broken promises. It's exactly this kind of crap that makes people cynical and and decreases our willingness to engage in civic participation. Here's a link to Sarno's promises at his inaugural address. I think every Springfield resident should read this on...

Daily aspirin therapy, is it right thing for you?
    2008-02-29 12:50:47
Daily aspirin therapy helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, but daily aspirin therapy isn’t appropriate for everyone. Is it right for you? You should consider daily aspirin therapy only if you’ve had a heart attack or stroke, or you’re at high risk of either. And then, proceed only with your doctor’s approval. [...]...

    Doing the Right Thing?
    2007-05-30 02:54:00
The police officer called tonight. Had Mike in custody. He's got no permanent address. They need to send court paperwork somewhere or else he has to hold him. I wasn't sure what to do. Was letting him use our address enabling his lifestyle? Was not letting him use it cruel and unusual punishment.I let them use it. He'll have to call here to see what it says. Those calls are always such fun ones to try to make when you have a house full of people, including guests, and you're 11 year old is chanting in the background, "We are siamese if you please . . . we are siamese if you don't please."I told him, "Could you please not sing that song when the police call. They were asking how we were able to find a talking siamese cat."He replied, "Really???"...

POEM [ DOING THE RIGHT THING..... ]
    2006-01-13 05:42:00
Sometimes it means giving inWhen you know that nothing else matterSometimes it means needing to be quietWhen words can no longer deliver the messageSometimes it means going separate waysWhen things have gotten unbearable and hopelessSometimes it means turning awayWhen your presence will do more harm than goodSometimes it means giving up your dreamsWhen you no longer have time to dreamSometimes it means stop hopingWhen there's nothing else to hope forSometimes it means giving up your reasonsWhen you know that they just don't fitSometimes it means masking your true feelingsWhen you know that you have to put up a faceSometimes it means keeping the love within your heartWhen you know that it can only bring pain -- Malaya Bodlaverhttp://mohanitguy.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss...
