| Little Road Trip | | 2008-07-14 07:20:00 | | As you can see from the pictures below, Matt, Hector, and I got out of Chautauqua County for a few hours yesterday and headed straight for the waterfront in Erie, PA.We took a look at the reconstructed version of the Flagship Niagara, grabbed a bite to eat at Smuggler's Wharf, then walked around Dobbins Landing where I spotted Rum Runners from a viewing platform. We sipped a few drinks there and people watched until the sun started setting. Since I was the designated driver at this point, I insisted on finding our way back to Peach Street so we could get gas and a Krispy Kreme. Yes, I'm still obsessed about the fresh version. I tried to order two, but the drive-thru window girl was playing the part of "Julia's Conscious" because she only gave me one (only charged for one). I want Emma to know I invoked her name a couple of times, especially when Matt and I mused about doing another mini-holiday in Erie sometime. That most likely won't happen until next summer though with how crazy | | By: In Java, Literally... | | |

| Road Trip Ends at 3-7 | | 2008-07-06 23:46:00 | | The Red Sox concluded a disappointing road trip on Sunday night with a 10-inning loss in the Bronx on a little cheap shit roller up the middle by future Yankee Hall of Famer Brett Gardner, off Jonathan Papelbon. Gardner hit a ball that Alex Cora could only knock down, but it didn't stay in the infield to give New York one of their patented cheap wins, 5-4.The Sox got 6+ strong innings out of Tim Wakefield, but Javier Lopez came on to give up a two-run triple to Robinson Cano to tie the game in the seventh at 4. Once again, the Sox bullpen fails to hold a lead in the seventh for the third time in the last eight days. The Sox hit Joba Chamberlain, whose plaque in Monument Park has been delayed for some unknown reason, for three runs in six innings. Glad to see at least the newest Yankee Who Can Walk On Water not figuring in the decision (although he left on the short side). In the fifth, Kevin Youkilis scored the first run on a wild pitch, sliding hard into the plate as Chamberlain block | | By: The Mighty Quinn Media Machine | | |

| My First Road Trip | | 2008-07-06 23:00:00 | | I'm Going On Vacation!By the time this is posted, me and my Mommy will be on the road. We are going on our first vacation together. Mommy said that we're going to a place called "Myrtle Beach" and it's inside of another place called "South Carolina". When we get there, we are going to meet up with other members of our family and spend the whole week together! While we are away, my Grammy and Pop-Pop are having a "stay-at-home" vacation. This will be the first time that I will be separated from them since the minute I was born. You can probably tell from my recent posts that I really had a good time with them this past week. I know they are going to miss me and I'm going to miss them too. My Mommy will be taking her camera and something else that she is going to use with it called a "tripod" (thanks to my Great Uncle Andy). I know that she is going to take a lot of pics to post on both of our blogs when we get back so, stay tuned.Bye-bye for now... see you in a week!

| A Miserable Road Trip | | 2008-06-19 16:04:00 | | The last game of this trip went a lot like the first. The Bucs jumped out to a lead in the 2nd. One error with 2 outs and then a bunch of hits (keyed by a Nate double and Freddy homer) made it 6-0---really fast. Seemed like a laugher.--It would end up being a laugher--but that wasn't apparent until the Sox scored 6 immediately following the Pirates rally.Just like that, 6-6.Ouch.Dumatrait blew a 6-1 lead on Friday. That was the opener of interleague and this road trip.Today he managed to screw up | | By: Raise the Jolly Roger! | | |

| Road Trip Maruata! Decidimos viajar a Maruata, Michoacán. La playa | | By: Al Aire Libre | | |

Back in 2002, an old friend of mine sent me a lighthouse calendar which I've kept because I love to look through the pictures every now and then. On our second day in Ilocos, we headed north, up along the western shoreline. The idea was to visit notable places in Ilocos Norte before capping the tour with a leisurely lunch in Pagudpud. So Gani picked us up right after breakfast and then we were off. It was a beautiful drive and we enjoyed the views of the ocean on one side and the Cordilleras on the other.

Together with joy my twin sister & kuya Brian, we accompanied Erica my elder sister to take her new PC set and her other belongings to her new apartment in Tagum. We headed around 11am and reached Panabo to take our Lunch at around 12:30. After 30 mins of break, we continued our journey, have seen picturesque spots, and finally dropped at NCCC in Tagum at 1:30 pm to buy a Computer Table as a complement for her new PC Set. As we approached her apartment, we immediately installed the PC and mounted the computer table and after an hour or two, one of the Smart Bro installer arrived to set up Erica's Internet Connection. Finally it was all set at 5:30pm and decided to go home since it's a long way back going Davao and I'm quite afraid to take the wheels since the pavements are dim so joy decided to do so. | Road Trip to Pismo Beach | | 2007-11-23 14:59:00 | | Traveling north of Los Angeles you can head up Highway 1 to Ventura. Once past Ventura the highway hugs the coast and you get fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean. The Amtrak trains follows the same route and if you happen to see one of the Amtrak trains give the passengers a wave you will be surprised as to how many of them wave back. Next stop is Santa Barbara which is a wonderful Southern California day trip. There are so many things to do in the Santa Barbara area you might want to consider a long week end or mini vacation. About 20 miles past Santa Barbara highway one turns inland at Gaviota State Beach. From there the road travels through oak covered hills and valleys which are rapidly being converted into miles of vineyards. Next stop is Santa Maria with it's world-famous Santa Maria Style barbecue, and fabulous California wines. Finally after a long day on the road is Pismo Beach . Each focuses on a regional theme, for instance "deserts," "gold country," or "inland empire" (which I've always thought sounded way cooler than it is). The itineraries range in length from two to eight days and from 100 to 785 miles.

| East Coast Road Trip Misery Loves Company | | 2007-05-17 07:00:31 | | Since beginning a trip to New York and Philadelphia last Friday, the Brewers have lost 5 of 6 and been outscored 35-28. Their win was a laugher (12-3) against the Mets, and they’ve also been on the wrong end of an ass kicking, 9-1, by the New Yorkies.
The Cubs have lost 4 of 6 with the Phillies and Mets and been outscored 33-28. One of their wins was a laugher (10-1) against the Mets, and they’ve also been on the wrong end of an ass-kicking, 8-1, by the Mets.
The big difference between the Brewers and the Cubs is that when the Brewers set off on their journey, they were 24-10 and 7 games ahead of the second place Cubs. Also, the Brewers have a slugging first baseman with a spasm-free neck.
The Cubs can only dream.
