| Roadside on S25 | | 2008-08-07 00:00:00 | | The winding road is two lanes wide,
with cars and trucks all at a standstill.
The rain decided to subside
and drew the smiley with a pencil.
Then, to distract the drivers more,
the rainbow re-appeared, and drivers
are gawking. Summer downpour
is laying limp among the tires.
It is as though the morning calm
wrapped every car. Its magic lingers.
Now stranded drivers, one by one,
oh miracle, start using blinkers.
As if there’s no one pressed for time,
politely yielding to the neighbors,
cars start to move, now free of grime,
push dirty water with their fascias
aside. And no one breaks the quiet
with pleas for more acceleration
with loud honking. Cars just glide
away from any altercation.
In times like these, it’s plain as day -
