    2008-01-10 09:54:20

Presently, we are losing jobs overseas precisely because the corporate tax in America is 35%, which is the highest or second-highest in the world. Rudy Giuliani
    2007-12-05 11:24:00
(From Dept. of Records, NYC Gov.) In 1944, Rudolph W. Giuliani was born to a working class family in Brooklyn, New York. As the grandson of Italian immigrants, Mayor Giuliani learned a strong work ethic and a deep respect for America's ideal of equal opportunity. He attended Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School (Class of '61) in Brooklyn, Manhattan College (Class of '65) in the Bronx and New York University Law School in Manhattan, graduating magna cum laude in 1968.Upon graduation, Rudy Giuliani clerked for Judge Lloyd MacMahon, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York. In 1970, Giuliani joined the office of the U.S. Attorney. At age 29, he was named Chief of the Narcotics Unit and rose to serve as executive US Attorney. In 1975, Giuliani was recruited to Washington, D.C., where he was named Associate Deputy Attorney General and chief of staff to the Deputy Attorney General. Why Rudy Giuliani Is Attacking Hillary Clinton
    2007-09-17 17:33:00
Giuliani's attacks on Hillary are seen by most on the left as pathetic at best. But let's face it, there are two very important reasons why Giuliani is sending his venom in her direction:1. He wants to be seen as Hillary's obvious opponent in the general election before he's won the nomination, especially as his numbers drop drastically in polls. He was the closest thing the GOP had to a frontrunner, and now that status is being threatened by Thompson's curiously good poll numbers. It doesn't matter that Hillary had nothing to do with the moveon.org ad, he needs a point to attack her on so that we're already witnessing a Giuliani/Clinton race. He wants Republicans to view it as a foregone conclusion that it will be him in the general election.2. If you're going to pick somebody to criticize as a Republican, Hillary's a good target. Republicans hate Hillary because she's stridently partisan and she's the symbol of the far left, whether her views actually match that stereotype or not. She's a safer pick for Giuliani to attack than his opponents in the GOP, especially in a race that's become a mudslinging early on (not that Giuliani has stayed out of attacking Romney and Thompson when given the chance). It's actually a fairly smart campaign move on Giuliani's part to draw attention forward to the general election and present himself as the presumptive nominee....

Rudy Giuliani: Every Foreigner in U.S. Must Carry New Card
    2007-09-02 22:27:24
I know this is kinda old, but it didn’t get the attention it deserves: Rudy Giuliani wants every foreigner in America to carry around a ‘SAFE’ card, along with their passport.Yes, it has been proposed before; but by a presidential candidate?Rudy G is trying to cement his immigration position as hard line after Mitt Romney came out of the Ames Poll swinging hard. And the worst news?“If you don’t have that card, you get thrown out of the country,” Giuliani said.Under what circumstance would a foreigner be asked to show their card? Would they be issued immediately? Is this even legal? Those are the questions that have to be answered."When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross." - Sinclair Lewis ...

    Candidate Profiles: Rudy Giuliani
    2007-05-22 20:03:00
BACKGROUNDRudy Giuliani became "America's Mayor" in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Now, he's attempting to parlay the fame and recognition that followed into the Republican nomination.Giuliani became a US Attorney in 1970, and was appointed by President Reagan as Associate Attorney General in 1981. During his time in the Justice Department, he prosecuted a number of high profile cases, including Marc Rich's tax evasion and several leaders of New York crime families. Initially a Democrat, Giuliani became an independent and later a registered Republican. In 1989, he lost a narrow mayoral race, but came back to defeat David Dinkins in 1993. His tenure as mayor is one of controversy and success. He worked with the New York Police Department to reduce crime during his two terms and oversaw a revitalization of the city's business community. He has been criticized for race relations as mayor, including several incidents involving police action against black citizens. He was also con...
