How to avoid paying the recently tripled Ryanair debit card handling charge
    2008-07-17 08:41:41
I did a double take today when I was writing about the current Ryanir £2 flights to Ireland promotion, I was checking in the price and availability of these flights when I noticed that Ryanair are now charging a £4 handling charge per flight for both credit and debit cards. I thought that it sounded [...]

Ryanair are offering flights from the UK to Ireland for only £2 return if you book by midnight on Friday 18 July 2008. However as I highlighted previously Ryanair do charge card handling fees, even on free flights. It’s now £4 for a credit or debit card for each flight but if you [...]

Low cost flights with Ryanair and Sterling to Sweden
    2008-06-30 01:05:51
In addition to the national carriers (BA and SAS), other airlines that operate between the UK and Sweden are Ryanair and Sterling. There were others, but these two budget options withstood the test of time and high oil prices. While Ryanair is infamous for using out-of-the-way airports, its hubs in Sweden are actually well [...]

Why don’t Ryanair make their free flights free?
    2008-06-07 08:56:42
I noticed that Ryanair are offering “free” flights if you book by Monday 9th June 2008 and fly between 1 October 2008 and 31 January on flights that depart after 12 noon on Mondays, all day Tuesdays and until 12 noon on Wednesdays. Now that doesn’t leave a lot of room for flexibility as you [...]

Ryanair brings budget air travel to France
    2008-03-22 11:49:00
Ryanair, Europe's most successful low-cost airline, is going nose to nose with Europe's largest and most successful high-speed railway system. The Irish-based airline announced yesterday that it was starting cheap flights in May from Beauvais airport, 50 miles north-west of Paris, to Marseilles. Ryanair will also try to break into the German domestic market for the first time with flights between Frankfurt and Berlin. The French internal travel market has proved a difficult hunting ground for cut-price airlines, faced with the dominance of the national carrier, Air France, and, above all, with the success of the TGV – the high-speed rail services run by the state-owned SNCF.

News: Ryanair Looking for New PR Company?
    2008-02-09 04:11:27
It looks like "low cost airline" Ryanair might be looking for a new PR company.First an advertisement portraying a woman dressed in a schoolgirl uniform (inclusive mini-skirt) twirling her hair was ruled as offensive, and banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, a British watchdog agency. (Full)... and later the same week, French president Sarkozy and his new bride won a law suit against Ryanair's ad published in the French daily Le Parisien. The ad showed the smiling couple with a speech bubble coming from Bruni's mouth saying: "With Ryanair, all my family can come to my wedding." (Full)Or maybe this is the kind of cheap publicity the cheap airline was looking for?

New short break destinations with Ryanair
    2007-12-19 17:17:23
Budget carrier Ryanair has introduced 50 new routes for 2008. From my perspective there’s nothing of great interest at my 2 nearest airports, Newcastle and Edinburgh. No new flights from Newcastle. There are 5 new Ryanair destinations from Edinburgh but only 2 that aren’t already served by other carriers, Bremen in Germany [...]

Did you bag a free Ryanair flight?
    2007-05-17 09:38:45
There were so many visitors trying to book free flights on the Ryanair site yesterday that the site had technical difficulties.  The free flights offer did actually mean free, you wouldn’t have to pay any taxes, charges or booking fees. However when I checked the availability of the free flights from my nearest airport Newcastle, the flights to Girona and Bergamo had already sold out!  There is a pdf file you can download to check availability if you click on the availability box under the free offer headline. Have you managed to book any of the free flights? Technorati Tags: Ryanair, free flights, low cost carriers,
