| Sacred (and Secret) Marriage of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene | | 2008-08-24 21:39:14 | | 1.Cana, Galilee, 23 A. D.'They have no wine', said Mary to Jesus. And on the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus and his disciples were called to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, Mary, the mother of Jesus said to him, 'They have no wine.'Mary immediately ordered the servants to do whatever Jesus instructed. And Jesus told them to fill the pots with water up to the brim. He then asked them to draw wine from them and to serve the governor of the feast. The servants served the wine. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water that had been made into wine, the governor called the bridegroom and said to him that most people serve the good wine first the lower grade wine later. The bridegroom, on the other hand, had done the reverse. His mother, Mary, had clearly been in charge. She was the hostess without doubt. And the bridegroom had been Jesus.- The Christ Conspiracy: The Marriage of Jesus by Rhawn Joseph.2.Mary anointed | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts | | |
| | | Sacred Possessions | | 2008-08-14 18:38:00 | | Our culture tends put a value on things. Over the past year and some, I've tried to be better about materialism and getting rid of excess stuff. Then I started thinking about the odd assorted items that carry a sort of sacredness to me. I walked around the house, picking up the first few things that immediately came to mind and put them on a table. The picture is below:Starting at the left and going around clockwise, the first thing is a small notebook with a card on top. The card is my first non-commercial radio license I got in 1993 when I became a DJ for Irondequoit High School's radio station, WIRQ. The notebook is where I used to diligently transcribe quotes and lyrics that appealed to me throughout high school and college. Next is a matchbox car that my friend, Brian, gave me on my 16th birthday after saying for days leading up to the day, "I'm getting you a car you can drive!" Underneath that are the house keys for my grandma's former house and my grandparent's home. To | | By: In Java, Literally... | | |

The Jesus-breath has come! From his wholesome spirit..... wafts the fragrance of the One.................. - Hafez, the mystic and master sufi poet2.I had a vision just as I was awakening several years ago. Jesus was standing before me, and I stood in front of him trying to take the vision in and comprehend what I was seeing. It was that mystical time between sleeping and waking, before I am completely awake. Jesus was wearing the crown of thorns, and there were drops of blood on his forehead where the thorns were piercing his skin.I reached up to touch him, to feel the blood on his skin, and it was warm and real. I asked him if it is painful all the time. He told me that it was not painful, not anymore, because he was lifted beyond it. We didn't speak aloud, but it was communicated telepathically, in that I knew his thoughts and answers, and he knew mine. It was the communion of love.Since he was more than just the physical body, I asked if it would be po | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts

Gurdjieff (Jan 13, 1866 - Oct 29, 1949), the brilliant spiritual master and mystic developed the sacred movement based on ancient temples (sufi tekkes or lodges) dances he witnessed in Central Asia among Sufis whom he called Seekers of Truth. Gurdjieff took the sufi movements to a new height by incorporating principles of cosmic law which he discovered in his extensive spiritual searches throughout Asia and the Middle East."Imagine that in studying the laws of movement of the celestial bodies, let us say the planets of the solar system, you have constructed a special mechanism for the representation and recording of these laws. In this mechanism every planet is represented by a sphere of appropriate size and is placed at a strictly determined distance from the central sphere, which stands for the sun. You set the mechanism in motion, and all the spheres begin to turn and move in definite paths, reproducing in a lifelike way the laws which govern their movements. It is not an intuitive choice that any programme director would make and yet the combination of Craig Adams and the Voices of New Orleans with Faiz Ali Faiz and his Qawwali Ensemble from Pakistan was so good as to almost defy description.Craig Adams (above) Faiz Ali Faiz (below)The Qawwali/Gospel concert should have opened the FestivalAfter the disappointment of the lacklustre opening night at Bab El Makina, the second evening's concert was a triumph. Those who experienced it were in no doubt that this should have been the opening night concert. The collaboration sprung from the previous highly successful fusion between qawwali and flamenco at last year's festival. This project bringing together gospel music and qawwali is a superb demonstration of the talents of both Craig Adams and his group and the Faiz Ali Faiz Ensemble and one in which the result is greater than the sum of the parts. A huge crowd packed in, with an overflow of people content to sit in the shade of the beautiful gardens behind the stage. With Imane Homisi playing virtuoso Qanoun, Ghada Shbeir entranced the audience with a stunning selection of Eastern Christian songs of praise. From her opening rendition in Aramaic of Hoyen Llatoye (O Misericordieux) through to the final, L'el Mentoure, Shbeir held the audience in the palm of her hand. | | Sacred Feminine | teachings and spiritual work | | 2008-05-04 22:29:52 | | "The Woman is waiting to be recognized"In the Oneness and the Heart of the World event the subject matter of Sacred Feminine and the Feminine aspect of Divine was raised. Some audience also questioned how we can heal the damage that organized religion and faith system has done across all religions by its one sided patriarchal view point which side tracked the inseparable Feminine Face, Feminine wisdom and Her recognition. In response Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, the Shaykh of Golden Sufi reminded how his own teacher was a woman (Ms. Irina Tweedie) and was sent by her Teacher from India to West. Part of her work was inspired to help re-emerge the Feminine Consciousness back into our spiritual consciousness and to the practices. Llewellyn, the successor of Ms. Irina Tweedie is carrying on the same mission and has been teaching on the Role of Sacred Feminine and how it is going to play a major role for the reemergence of the World Soul.Working with Oneness website contains Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee' | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts
| | A sacred place that has lost its sacredness | | 2008-05-01 21:34:00 | | The Canessa CornerBy Kevin Canessa Jr.Every person has a place they consider sacred. For some, it's grandma's. For others, it's at church. For others, it's right in the comfort of home. Go to that place, and instantly, you find an incredible semblance of peace, a peace that cannot be found elsewhere. When times are rough, or when I feel a need to be closer to God, I tend to go to one of my two sacred places. One place is Mt. Arlington, where I directed many a retreat. But because of the distance, I rarely go there anymore. Tonight, I felt the need for my sacred space, so I drove to Jersey City, took the PATH from Exchange Place to the World Trade Center, and had hope to go to the spot where I used to go to find solace.Normally, it would be right across the street from the Millennium Hotel. There was always a place to stand, reflect without being bothered and to pray. The names of those who died were listed across the makeshift fence that donned the perimeter of the 16-acre empty site. | | Fez Sacred Music Festival - a musician's pick. | | 2008-04-26 13:21:00 | | Dan Hipgrave (pictured above), former guitarist with British indie rock band Toploader, picks the best of this summer's music festivals for the UK newspaper The Telegraph and places the Fes Sacred Music Festival in the top three. Here is what he had to say:When it comes to summer festivals, I count myself very lucky. I – along with 90,000 deliriously happy mud-caked fans – saw Radiohead deliver their best ever performance at Glastonbury in 1997. Two years later my band, Toploader, appeared on the same stage and I experienced the exhilaration of playing in front of a similar-sized crowd.Since then, I have checked out other British festivals and have toured the world reviewing similar events. Adding travel to the mixture can often enhance the experience (particularly if mud baths aren't your thing) and certainly broadens your cultural compass. So here are my top tips for this summer's festivals, both at home and abroad.DAN'S TOP PICKS.1. | | Pope's visit to Ground Zero finally confirms: The site is sacred | | 2008-04-20 12:39:00 | | The Canessa CornerFor many years, much of the sacred ground that is Ground Zero has remained an empty tomb, a stark and shocking reminder of the terrorism that struck our nation on Sept. 11, 2001. It has become a place of construction, where in a few years, new buildings will rise and show the truest American spirit that despite the horrors of that day, life can and must go on.And yet, somehow, strikingly yet again, there is still no memorial, no true reminder of the horrors of Sept. 11, 2001. Sure, the names of the victims don the outskirts of the property. But there is no true tribute yet to the victims. There is no memorial to the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, the real heroes of that awful day. There is nothing. Nothing. And yet, that all changed in a spiritual instant this morning, when Pope Benedict XVI arrived on the sacred ground, greeted victims, their families, survivors. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. | | Badui Community in Banten – Sacred Lives | | 2008-03-26 23:37:00 | | Badui peopleIn a fast-changing world, the Badui community in Banten reminds an enigma. A deeply spiritual community, a wholly unique and closed society, the Badui people of Banten steadfastly maintain their ancient ways, rejecting most trappings of modern society.Members of the innermost community, the badui Dalam (inner badui people), live in one of three villages, Cibeo, Dikertawana and Cikeusik, nestled amongst the forested foothills around Mt. Deliberately spurning all contact with the world beyond their group, the Badui Dalam are completely surrounded by a protective buffer zone of badui Luar (outer Badui people). The 400 or so members of this community believe they are the direct lineal descendants of the first people to occupy the Earth, the land they are born from is a living mandala, a representation of the entire universe. It's a privately-owned island with an exclusive lodge, a dive school and fabulous coral to explore offshore. One evening, Lumen went to the bar before dining alfresco on the beach and was blown away by the music playing ... it was Ismael Lô, and she's been a fan ever since. Hence Lumen is first in the queue for tickets to the final night of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music, when Lô will be performing along with the Hamadcha Sufi Brotherhood.Ismael LôIsmael Lô is from Senegal. He almost became a painter, but singing took precedence. He joined the successful group Super Diamono in Dakar, but eventually went solo. | | Creating a Sacred Space for Healing | | 2008-03-12 07:36:58 | | CREATING SACRED SPACEThere are times when we will be asked to give a reiki treatment on the spot while out some where or maybe in an emergency situation, but at other times, treatments sessions are planned in advance. It is for those times, as well as when we give ourselves a treatment that having a special space set aside has definite benefits. As we work in a particular area over a period of time, the energy builds up in that spot. We can all recall how this can have both positive and less beneficial sides. I have noticed that when I perform a Reiki session in my treatment room at home, the session seems to be more powerful than if I give a spot treatment at other places in my home. Part of this reason, is because the space in the treatment room seems to remain energized and partly because of the intention and activities that are performed in that area.My treatment room is used exclusively for giving treatments such as Reiki, massage, and Polarity. The reason for the delay is “optimization of the crucial areas of multiplayer gameplay and balancing.” A company representative further explained this by saying that “every single area of the game will be polished, allowing us to deliver the quality which is expected, rather than striving for an early release.” The company promises the game will take over six hours alone to run across. | | Sacred Sayings | compiled by Imam Ali | | 2007-10-20 10:22:26 | | O children of Adam, I am the Ever Alive and will never die. Act on what I have commanded you and avoid what I have forbidden you from. So that I shall give you eternal life in which you never die.O children of Adam, I am the King Who will never be overthrown. When I command, it will be so. Obey Me in what I have commanded you to do and refrain from what I have prohibited you. So that when you command, it will be so.O children of Adam, when you speak of good and practice evil, you are head of hypocrites. When your appearance is pleasant but your inner self is ugly, you are the most perditious of the perditious ones.O children of Adam, no one can enter My blissful station (heaven) unless he or she humbles himself or herself before Me, interrupts his day in My remembrance, denies himself the worldly desires for Me, extends his brotherhood and sisterhood to strangers and helps the poor, and is compassionate to those in suffering, and is generous to orphans and treats them as would a kind father, and is kind and compassionate towards widows as a partner would be.Thus whatever those with these attributes call Me, I shall respond. And whatever request is made of Me I shall bestow... compiled by Imam Ali, may God bless him, from original Hebrew to Arabic. These are the quotes from Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, where God has spoken directly... from the book, Sacred Sayings of Imam Ali and Prophet Mohammad, MTO Shahmaghsoudi Publications /image credit | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts | | |
| | Fes Festival of World Sacred Music 2008 | | 2007-10-02 19:01:00 | | Always first with news of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music, The View from Fez can confirm that the dates for the 2008 event are Friday 6 to Saturday 14 June. While the programme has yet to be announced, the theme of the Festival will be Chemins de la Creation, which could translate into English as Pathways of Creation or Pathways of Creativity - we await clarification. But such a theme will give rise to plenty of interesting debate and form the foundation of a stimulating programme of music, culture and the arts across the spectrum.New Director GeneralThe View from Fez reported at the beginning of August that the Director General of the Spirit of Fes Foundation that organises the Fes Festival, Naima Tagemaouti, had resigned after less than one year on the job. Her appointment followed the resignation of the founder and first Director General of the Sacred Music Festival, Faouzi Skali, who now runs his own annual Sufi Culture Festival in Fes which will take place in April 2008. The search has been on ever since for someone to take Naima's place. Fatima Sadiqi fits the bill and was appointed in September though this has only recently been common knowledge.Fatima Sadiqi is Professor of Linguistics and Gender Studies and has been affiliated to Harvard University since 2006. Well-known for her work on Moroccan languages and women's issues, she is also a familiar face at the Arabic Language Institute in Fez where she's a lecturer. She's been a Fulbright Scholar at four US universities and founded the first graduate unit of Gender Studies in Morocco. Fatima founded the Centre for Studies and Research on Women at the University of Fez and is currently President and Founder of the ISIS Center for Women & Development. Fatima's husband Moha Naji runs the National Festival of Amazigh Culture. Learn more at www.fatimasadiqi.on.ma.Gerard Kurdjian Returns to Fez 2008's Festival also sees the return of Gerard Kurdjian as Artistic Director. He held this position from the start of the Sacred Music Festival in 1996 until he was replaced in 2006 by Cherif Khaznadar. Gerard is a popular member of the festival team and is sure to receive a warm welcome.Find further information on the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music at www.fesfestival.com and on the Fes Festival of Sufi Culture at www.par-chemins.org. That book is BaMidbar (Numbers).BaMidbar 3:47You shall take five shekels each according to the head count; in the sacred shekel you shall take--the shekel is twenty gerahs. Five shekels is the redemption price of the firstborn. The sacred shekel denotes spiritual equality, balanced harmony among the middot, and hishtavut among all forces and all levels of creation. | | By: Walking On Fire | | |

| | Reflections On Sacred Symbols | | 2007-07-29 19:15:00 | | י"ד באב תשס"זReflections on Sacred SymbolsBy John CarisJuly 29, 2007Symbols, whether sacred or secular, pervade human culture and are frequently found in the arts. They are keys that open the door to higher consciousness, codes that winnow the kernel from the chaff, seeds that contain hidden knowledge.A basic idea underlying symbols and their power is the micro-macrocosm relationship. What is above is reflected in what is below, and so too what is below is like what is above. A commonality and unity, whether physical or spiritual, exist between the two.Read the full article on Witchvox. | | By: Walking On Fire | | |
| | "All that is sacred" can not be created by us | | 2007-07-22 14:39:24 | | The field of thermodynamics studies the behavior of energy flow in natural systems. From this study, a number of physical laws have been established. The laws of thermodynamics describe some of the fundamental truths about physical energy observed in our Universe. The first law of thermodynamics is often called the Law of Conservation of Energy. This law suggests that energy can be transferred from one system to another in many forms but it can NOT be created or destroyed. Thus, the total amount of energy available in the Universe is CONSTANT. Einstein's famous equation describes the relationship between energy and matter: E = mc2In the equation above, energy (E) is equal to matter (m) times the square of a constant (c). Einstein's equation also suggests that the quantity of energy and matter in the Universe is fixed.MysticSaint thoughts: Although any casual students of science may take this first law of thermodynamics for granted, but this is one of the most elegant mysteries and in | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts | | |

| | the art of travel | sacred journey | | 2007-05-10 05:27:00 | | According to the Koran (Quran), God's Wide Earth and everything in it are "sacred," not only as divine creations, but also because the material world is full of "waymarks," or signs of divine reality. Moreover, Islam itself is born between two journeys, Mohammad's hijra or "flight" from Mecca to Medina, and his hajj, or return voyage. The hajj is the movement toward the origin and center for every Moslem even today, and the annual Pilgrimage has played a vital role, not just in the religious unity of Islam, but also in its cultural unity.Mohammad himself exemplifies every kind of travel in Islam; his youth with the Meccan caravans of Summer and Winter, as a merchant; his campaigns as a warrior; his triumph as a humble pilgrim. Although an urban leader, he is also the prophet of the Bedouin and himself a kind of nomad, a "sojourner"an "orphan." From this perspective travel can almost be seen as a sacrament. Every religion sanctifies travel to some degree, but Islam is virtually unimag | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts | | |

In the calendrical system, there is a term 'Tumpek' in Bali falling once in every 210 days as the summit momment of the god's endowment to human beings (Sundarigama manuscript).Tumpek Landep is marked with the symbol of kris dagger (weapon) having the meaning to sharpen the intellectuality of Balinese humans.Tumpek Wariga and Tumpek Uye are indicated with the symbol of appreciation towards the bio-life of which conservation should be maintained, as it becomes the wellspring for the survival of human life.Tumpek Kuningan is a moment of introspection on dharma (the eternal law of the cosmos) to remind the human beings so they endeavour to archieve the profane and spiritual serenity.Tumpek Wayang is an appreciation towards the value of arts coming in expression of beauty and nobility.Tumpek Krulut is the veneration of God coming down to earth in his mani | | By: Bali Travel Guide

But many Balinese, although they are Hindu, consume beef. And people in Bali breed cows for meat. You will not see cow wander in the streets, because they are just cattle.

| | Sacred Ritual Seals | | 2006-12-23 10:09:00 | | אתהפכא חשוכא לנהוראSelah. To seal a spell [1], witches say "so mote it be," meaning "it is so." In a similar manner, Jews seal prayer spells with the words amen (אמן) or selah (סלה). In the Temple, in place of amen, the words [2] are said:Blessed be His Glorious Majesty forever and ever.ברוך שם כבוד מלכותו לעולם ועדThe witch's "so mote it be" and "amen" mean the same thing. This seal reinforces Divine Will with the soul power of emunah (interincluded within all levels of one's soul) and kavanah to make the prayer spell manifest. It is a formula of confirmation and agreement. By pronouncing "so mote it be" and "amen" one becomes bound to that uttered. One doesn't say either "so mote it be" or "amen" in vain or with evil intent. It is a serious utterance of creation-making for which one is held accountable.Selah is an untranslatable term found 71 times in Tehillim (Psalms) and 3 times in Habakkuk [3]. | | Tafsaret, A Rare Kind Of Sacred Scribe | | 2006-10-23 22:38:00 | | Torah Of Chesed, Neshamah. The Hebrew word ishah (אישה), meaning woman, is thought to be derived from the root word anash (אנש), meaning to "cause weakness" [1]. However, the neshamah of ishah may come into revelation and expression through the root חשה, meaning "quiet" and/or "refrain from expression or movement" [2]. Supporting this is the consideration that the word חשאי (derived from the root חשה) means "silently" and contains the letters of the word ishah, except that the ה of ishah is a ח in the word "silently". Thus, ishah describes a situation where a "once silent woman" (unable to express Torah) becomes opened (ה | | By: Walking On Fire | | |
