| Sadie's Mom's Got it Goin On | | 2008-07-03 21:26:30 | | Even though supper with friends was a little turbulent (Dominyk and Tony in rare form) we have had a mellow night again. Highlights of the meal included Wilson orchestrating a "fat jiggling contest" between Bart and I by trying to jiggle the fat under our biceps. I was jigglier apparently. And then somehow started singling, "Sadie's Mom's Got it Goin' On." I hate the original of that song, but the thought of Sadie's friends who are boys heading into 7th grade thinking I'm hot made me crack up. But Dominyk said it wasn't even funny. "Haven't you heard of COPYRIGHT mom. That would be a violation. Plagerism!"What a kid. After supper, we left everyone home but Jimmy and went to the laundromat. We did 8 loads in the front loading $3.50 each double load washers and dried them all. That makes 43 loads we've done since the washer stopped working. Grrrr. Add that up and we coulda bought a new washer. Then we came home and Bart and walked and talked and now I"m blogging and heading to | | By: Never a Dull Moment | | |
| | Sadie and Wilson's Program | | 2008-03-30 17:25:57 | | I was having a hard time not laughing out loud and the differences between Sadie and Wilson and their response to my camera at the program this morning.Sadie was watching for the camera all the time. Every chance she had she glanced over to see if I was looking at her and then posed, smiled, over-acted, waiting for me to take the shot.Wilson hid. Behind his hands, behind the big kids next to him....it got to be a game that was almost more entertaining than the program. But I did sneak in a few. Sadie had a solo and several speaking parts and did very well. Wilson sang a few of the songs. But as he has said before, "You can make me go to choir but you can't make me sing."It's fun being part of a church that does such a quality performance once or twice a year.Have I mentioned that Wilson is one of the cutest kids I have ever ever seen? Every time I look at him I am overwhelmed that I'm lucky enough to be his mom. | | By: Never a Dull Moment | | |
| | Sadie's Essay | | 2008-03-18 20:36:18 | | Sadie wrote this essay for a contest at school:Right and WrongI thought and thought about choosing between right and wrong and I think that I got it now. I live in a family of 14 and some people in my family did some bad things. In making my own decisions about right and wrong, I do not want to follow my siblings who made bad choices. There are a few of my brothers who have not done very many good things. Like for example, one of my brothers has stolen a car , given tattoos, gone drinking and, trust me, a lot more. Then I have another brother that has done not so good things like drinking, breaking our windows, and threatening other people. But you know what? They get help and right now one is in jail and the other one is in a detention facility. Both of them try but they have hard times too. I know that they can do anything that they put their minds to. Although they might not be able to come back home, I still love them as no other person. I know that people are not the sa | | By: Never a Dull Moment | | |

| | Sadie Started a Blog | | 2007-07-05 23:21:00 | | It's really quite cute and nice. She makes me laugh with her kind words and perspective on life. You should check it out and to really thrill her, click on the ad I helped her put on there and she'll earn a few cents. Check out her new blog here and read about her perspective of the trip.We had a really good trip. It was, as Cindy described her day yesterday, A Walt Disney World Day in Adoption as the children were so appropriate and fun. Other than typical sibling rivalry, the whole 28 hours we were gone everyone was very appropriate. They were grateful, they were fun, they were engaging. It was a really good time. I think John appreciated our efforts and we had a great time with him as well. | | By: Never a Dull Moment | | |
| | C'mon Sadie!
I'm not ashamed to admit it: I freak... | | 2006-10-10 20:25:00 | | C'mon Sadie!I'm not ashamed to admit it: I freakin' LOVE The Bachelor! There's something so pop culture-ly delicious about watching a group of women who are old enough to know better compete for air time and the attention of some random guy. I love seeing them make total asses out of themselves. And they deserve every snarky, hateful comment that comes out of my mouth when I watch that show because a) They're willingly themselves in the situation and therefore deserving mocking merely because of that, b) They all obviously have daddy issues and if there's one thing that the American Psychological Association has taught us, it's that mocking girls who throw themselves into demeaning situations in the desperate attempt to gain the fickle love of a random man will cure them, and c) They're dumbasses! That said, my favorite girl, thus far, is Sadie. I hope she wins. She's so cute, all "I'm saving myself for marriage" (meanwhile you just know that there's some boy from her ne | | By: Princess Trophy Wife | | |
