| A San Francisco Vacation | | 2008-06-29 18:59:29 | | I remember when I first went to San Francisco, California. It was about two summers ago. The weather was always beautiful and the views were amazing. I remember going across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was just awesome. The traffic isn't always the greatest, especially when trying to get back to Oakland, but overall, the trip was very fun.My favorite part about San Francisco has to be Fisherman's Wharf. Fisherman's Warf is full of all different things. You can go there and enjoy a nice Giant's baseball game. After the game you can walk around the Wharf and I can guarantee there will be at least something that will interest you. There are all kinds of shops and all kinds of street performances always going on.After enjoying a walk through the Wharf, you can go to a nice restaurant. If you like seafood, then the Wharf is a great place to be, although you can enjoy a nice steak or hamburger among other things if you'd like.If you're interested in all of this and more, then be sure to check | | By: Ultimate Perfect Pushup Review | | |

| South San Francisco - One Free House | | 2008-06-28 23:55:00 | | The City of South San Francisco is seeking to give away a beautiful, historic duplex home - replete with a white picket fence – located at 323 Miller Avenue. The home is currently located on the site where a new parking structure will be built. Potential homeowners must be able to provide a plot of land for the home. The house used to be a single family home but was turned into two one-bedroom units. The future home-owner may turn the residence back into a two bedroom if they wish. Units feature hardwood floors and bay windows. This opportunity would be a terrific investment property or family home. The city is willing to move the house within a reasonable distance and pay for a foundation. Open house events will be held on June 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 and June 28th from 11-1. Applications will be available at the open house and are posted on the City of South San Francisco Housing and Community Development website. | Eyewitness To History: Crazy With Fear In San Francisco... | | 2008-06-20 22:42:00 | | I had $600.00 in gold under my pillow. I awoke as I was thrown out of bed. Attempting to walk, the floor shook so that I fell. I grabbed my clothing and rushed down into the office, where dozens were already congregated. Suddenly the lights went out, and every one rushed for the door.Outside I witnessed a sight I never want to see again. It was dawn and light. I looked up. The air was filled with falling stones. People around me were crushed to death on all sides. All around the huge buildings were shaking and waving. Every moment there were reports like 100 cannons going off at one time. Then streams of fire would shoot out, and other reports followed.I asked a man standing next to me what happened. Before he could answer a thousand bricks fell on him and he was killed. A woman threw her arms around my neck. I pushed her away and fled. All around me buildings were rocking and flames shooting. As I ran people on all sides were crying, praying and calling for help. | Baker Beach San Francisco | | 2008-06-03 08:29:00 | | Baker Beach is both a national and state beach and part of the Presidio. About a mile long this sandy beach is famous for it's view of the famed Golden State Beach. Baker beach is also a destination for nude sun bathing so don't be surprised to see people laying on the beach in a natural state. Swimming is dangerous due to the strong currents and cold water. Most people come for the view (Golden Gate Bridge) or the nude beach. The north end of Baker Beach is the established clothes optional area while the south end is primarily a day-use spot. Baker Beach is located just below the Presidio, on the ocean side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Take Lincoln Avenue to Bowley, where you will find a parking lot. On less-busy days, turn onto Gibson for closer parking. | | By: California Destination Guide | | |

| A San Francisco Trip | | 2008-05-24 20:07:00 | | This is late in coming, but so be it. I recently went on a lovely, yet strangely difficult trip to San Francisco to meet with Paul Genesse, author of The Golden Cord (you can find the review here and my interview with the author here). So, here's how it went down: Figuring out how to get to San Francisco without a car is actually a lot more difficult than you might think. You see, there are plenty of ways to get to San Francisco from the actual Bay Area (i.e. places that actually border the same bay as San Francisco). But when you're coming from the South Bay, across the Santa Cruz Mountains along the coast it's a whole different experience. There is only one public bus that goes over the mountains and it doesn't go to San Francisco, but to San Jose. Then you have to get from San Jose to a train or subway that will take you into San Francisco, which is a problem because there is no direct route from San Jose to San Francisco at all, despite it being relativ | | By: The World in the Satin Bag | | |

If gay people did this, it might be [...] | | By: SF Blogg | | |

| Tiger Kills Man at San Francisco Zoo | | 2008-04-12 00:44:54 | | A tiger escaped its enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo, killing one visitor and mauling two others on Christmas.Zoo officials were still uncertain how long the Siberian tiger, the same one that mauled a zoo keeper almost one year earlier, had been loose before being killed by police. The attack occurred just after the 5 p.m. closing time, on the east end of the 125-acre grounds. The zoo's director of animal care and conservation, Robert Jenkins, could not explain how Tatiana escaped. The tiger's enclosure is surrounded by a 15-foot-wide moat and 20-foot-high walls, and the approximately 300-pound female did not leave through an open door, he said."There was no way out through the door," Jenkins said. "The animal appears to have climbed or otherwise leaped out of the enclosure." | | By: About Pets | | |
