| Your Daily Dose of Schadenfreude: Rickey Bids Farewell to Bob Novak | | 2008-08-06 00:03:00 | | It has been an eventful couple of days for former CNN commentator Robert Novak. On July 23rd he ran over an eighty year old homeless man with his Corvette, yelled out “learn to read the signs asshole!” and then proceeded to drive away. And he would've completely gotten away scot-free if not for a one armed bicyclist who tossed his prosthetic arm at Novak as he sped away. (And who says that politics is boring? We don't even have to make a joke here, the situation speaks for itself!) We suppose that Novak, denied his "Crossfire" forum which had previously allowed him to harm all of America at once, decided to take to the streets and simply harm America one pedestrian at a time, GTA style. And that's an admirable thing: on "Crossfire" it was his job to hurt people. Now, he's clearly doing it for the sheer love of it. Some more really serious trouble.As if Roger Clemens' lying in front of Congress last February wasn't bad enough (and a perjury charge seems to be forthcoming), it was revealed in today's New York Daily News that The Carpetbagger had a 10-year affair with troubled country singer Mindy McCready.Yep, Roger was having an affair with this woman when she was just 15.Can you say, "statutory rape?" (I'm not sure of the state laws surrounding it, or whether there is a statute of limitations regarding it. They first met back in 1990.)Clemens met her while with the Red Sox in Florida, and claims he's never had any kind of sexual relationship with her. You know, the "we're just good friends" line.This should really damage his defamation suit against Brian McNamee, as the defense would surely use McCready as a witness in it to torpedo Clemens' reputation he's put forth over the years as this great family man. | | Schadenfreude and Hillary Clinton | | 2008-01-09 13:32:37 | | I have to admit a secret: I really enjoyed watching Hillary Clinton’s lifelong dream of becoming the President of the United States come crashing to a halt (But, don't count her out). When I saw her crying because she lost in Iowa, possibly sealing her fate, I recall laughing as if I was watching a standup comedian. It was really enjoyable.
