| | choosing a spiritual master | seeker's guide | | 2007-08-02 20:36:12 | | Everything that is transient is not necessarily Divine. Not all powers contribute to a righteous path. Visions, voices, astral projections, auras, levitation, predictions, communications with the dead and other similar feats are dangerous. They are all possible, but they do not lead to God. They empower us temporarily. They make our ego believe that we are special. But all these powers soon sour, cause illness, distress and depression. They are detours that confuse, if not destroy our true seeking. When choosing a guru (spiritual master) or seeking groups, ask the following questions:1. Is money taken at any time? (the truth cannot be owned, nor can it be bought or sold).2. Do your teachers pressure you like salesmen? (you should know the value of their path by your own conviction, not by the number of books you read, classes you attend, or pledges you make. Truth is not dependent upon salesmenship).3. Can you, yourself, feel the effect of the technique? (do not be satisfied that you wi | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts | | |

| | A case of racism: Belgian rejects job seeker due to "racist dog" | | 2007-06-13 13:26:00 | | BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A Belgian businessman rejected a Nigerian job applicant because the businessman said his own dog was racist and would bite non-whites, Belgian media reported on Saturday. The 53-year-old man Nigerian told De Standaard newspaper he arrived at the Belgian's wrought-iron business and was immediately confronted by the barking dog. The Belgian turned the man away before he could even enter, and wrote on his labour office letter that he could not hire the man because of his colour, adding there was a risk the dog would bite him. The local labour office has concluded that the Belgian was racist and has removed him from its list of potential employers. "My dog is racist. Not me," the Belgian told De Standaard. The Nigerian, who has lived in Belgium for 32 years, said it was not the first time he had been rejected for a job because of his colour, although other employers had been more subtle. | | Job Seeker: Make Your Best Job Interview Your Last One | | 2007-04-02 21:37:00 | | Scott Ginsberg posted this morning about his beloved Cardinals.Actually, the post isn't about the Cards so much, but he uses the Cards season opener as a platform to encourage us to be more like David Eckstein. If you don't follow Baseball, you don't know Eck. But you should. He's the perfect example of a major-leaguer who, day in - day out, gives his absolute best on the field. He doesn't coast. He doesn't save himself. He leaves it all on the field. Here's why Scott loves Eck:Because every grounder matters.Because he gives it his all, every time.Because he plays harder than anybody.Because he actually sprints on and off the field, every inning.Did Eck win the MVP last year because he's lucky?Don't think so.If Eck were asked to name the one game, in all his years of playing, that he believes to be his best, Scott believes Eck would say, My last one. Here's Scott's takeaway: Make your best one your last one.The best sales call you ever made…was your last one.The best speech you ever g | | By: JobGeeks.com | | |
