With all the problems in society today, we have to question the effectiveness of our leaders and their ability to lead. Are they true leaders? Just because someone is in charge does not necessarily mean he or she is a leader. Leaders take society in a positive direction. We have been taken nowhere by people who resemble rulers. They couldn't care less about moving society forward; their motives are purely selfish. Rulers are not interested in leading, they just want to be in charge and have the power that comes with position. Rulers seize any opportunity to grab more power.Leaders have a great respect for power. Leaders are able to govern with minimal power. Leaders understand that it is not the power that makes someone a leader. If we are to save our democracy, we need leaders, not more rulers. A ruler cannot lead a democracy, and a leader will never rule a democracy. We need to learn and understand the difference between leaders and rulers, and what they represent.
