| Debt Issue Suffers Setback on Campaign Trail With Biden as VP Choice | | 2008-08-24 21:16:43 | | The Democratic Convention is slated to begin this week in Denver and I’m already disappointed about Democratic Presidential Nominee Senator Barack Obama’s choice for his Vice Presidential Candidate - Senator Joseph (Joe) Biden from Delaware.

| Preview to an Automotive Downfall, Or A Minor Setback? | | 2008-04-03 08:43:32 | | Chrysler, Ford and General Motors are still having problems selling their cars, trucks and minivans. The Big 3 continue to increase their unsold inventory that are parked outside their dealerships and manufacturing plants. That’s nothing new though. Anyone who watches television or reads the newspaper knows all about the struggling car market in the States. [...]

| CHINA - IRAN: oil deal, setback for US | | 2007-12-12 06:25:26 | | China's Sinopec signed a multi-million-dollar deal with Iran to develop an oil field in southern Iran, despite the US opposition.
The agreement indicates Washington's claims that international firms are not willing to invest in Iran are baseless, said Iranian Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein...

| Health Matter: JJ Suffers Setback, Heads to Dr Andrews | | 2007-07-27 14:42:06 | |
The once stockpiled Marlins pitchers took another blow yesterday as Josh Johnson complained of tightness in his right elbow. An examination was scheduled with Dr. James Andrews for next week. Surgery is a possibility.
Johnson’s troubles stem from a rain-interrupted start in September, when he was sent back to the mound despite waiting out an 82-minute delay. Johnson didn’t pitch the rest of the season, and started this season on the DL because of an irritated nerve above his right elbow.

| Brandon Suffers Setback, Will Be Released | | 2007-07-25 16:14:17 | | A couple weeks ago when I broke down the situation at safety I looked at Sam Brandon's return as a huge if in an already shaky safety group as a whole. Well, we now know that Brandon won't be part of the group or of the team at all. The Broncos informed Brandon and his agent that the team will release the former 4th round pick. Word came out yesterday that Brandon had experienced a set back in his rehab from a knee injury suffered last season. As a result, Brandon will be forced to undergo microfracture surgery on the knee meaning he will miss the entire 2007 season. Brandon had already been suspended for the first two games on the season becuase of off-field conduct and this is the latest hit for Brandon who had worked his way into a factor at safety for the Broncos. With Brandon soon to be released don't be surprised if the Broncos re-open talks with the Kansas City Chiefs about veteran Greg Wesley who would prefer to get out of town. | Health Matter: Boone Suffers Setback, Cabs Ready to Go | | 2007-07-13 16:45:30 | |
Aaron Boone had been making progress rehabbing his sore knee until he suffered a setback yesterday taking batting practice. Boone slipped between second and third and could barely walk off the field. Scott Olsen, who left Sunday’s start after one inning due to upper back stiffness, completed a bullpen session Thursday and remains on track to start Sunday’s series finale against the Nationals.
Miguel Cabrera took batting practice Thursday during a mandatory team workout at Dolphin Stadium and said he likely would be ready to go tonight. He said he still was feeling discomfort in the shoulder but thought it likely he would be able to play tonight against the Nationals.

| Diaz Optioned To AAA; Padilla Suffers Setback? | | 2007-07-13 08:53:01 | | Lots of stuff out there on Mark Teixeira in the news today, just hours after his bombshell comments to the media in which he ripped Rangers’ management and ownership.
But first thing’s first: Teixeira will rejoin the Rangers for Friday night’s game in Anaheim, with T.R. Sullivan reporting that Victor Diaz will be optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma to make room on the 25-man roster. Diaz has a very odd batting line this year, going .240/.259/.538 with 9 HR in 104 AB. Ron Washington’s sporadic usage of Diaz over the last few weeks seems a bit odd, but nice power numbers can only mask an terrible on-base percentage for so long, I suppose.
Evan Grant has a real nice article out tonight on Teixeira’s remarks yesterday, and not surprisingly, the front office is less than pleased:
Owner Tom Hicks and general manager Jon Daniels on Thursday acknowledged disappointment in Teixeira’s criticism of management before a one-game rehab assignment with Double-A Fris | | By: Baseball Time in Arlington | | |
