Percy Bysshe Shelley | | By: Letras e Ideas | | |
| | | Shelley Winters On Fire! | | 2008-05-15 20:18:08 | | I don't know about you, but I really like "how I broke into the business" stories. Howie Wiseman just sent me a great one about Shelley Winters and the low-budget film City on Fire:
My first production job was driving a famous Hollywood legend on a disaster picture in Montreal called "City on Fire". She freaked out and fired me when she claimed that her trailer was too cold, though I had twice cranked up the heat to 11 so that it was dripping humidity. I was re-hired the next day and instructed to wait in a car by her trailer with the car heater blasting in order to drive her 20 meters to the set. It was mid August. Soon after, while working as a waiter in New York, I wrote a spec murder mystery about my neighborhood by the old police station in Little Italy called Shadowman. I created a cool cover page in a copy shop, which youre not supposed to do. Robert Altmans then producer Matthew Seig just happened to be standing next to me and remarked on the cover. | Shelley Discusses His Big Day | | 2008-03-01 19:05:00 | | Quotes from MLB.com and Peter Abraham:“In spring training most of the time, especially at the start, you don’t ever worry about the results. You worry about the process,” he said. “You want to get to the point where you’re comfortable and consistent every time." "You don't make too much of it," Duncan said. "In the spring, you're going to have those feelings where you're locked in and it goes away real quick. I really think consistency is a big part. | | Shelley Speaks | | 2008-02-13 16:29:00 | | Kat O'Brien from Newsday and Ed Price of The Star Ledger posted some quotes from Shelley Duncan today. He was the only player to speak to the media today. Here is some of what he had to say:On Roger Clemens: "Roger was a great teammate last year. Getting to know him, he was a great man and a great influence in the clubhouse."On Andy Pettitte: "He's probably as good a role model as anybody in this country. He's a good man."On how the players' feel about all this steroid stuff: "I guess it's enter | | By: Sliding Into Home | | |
| | Shelley Duncan: Classless Jerk | | 2007-09-17 08:33:00 | | Here's yet another item to add in the catalog of reasons why people despise the New York Yankees. Many of you many have seen this in the Boston Herald on Sunday. Apparently, the latest Yankee successor to Mickey Mantle, rookie outfielder Shelley Duncan, signed an autograph for a 10-year-old boy at Fenway Park on Friday night this way:"RED SOX SUCK! SHELLEY DUNCAN."Young Red Sox fan Griffin Whitman was excited to get an autograph from a major league player, but sure wasn't happy with the message Duncan left with it. Talk about being a complete moron. Duncan sure doesn't impress me as being the sharpest knife in the drawer. Someone from the Yankee organization (who are probably embarrassed by all of this) should sit down with this bonehead and tell him that doing stupid nonsense like this only makes enemies, and not friends, with opposition fans. And especially doing it to a young kid. (It would have been one thing to have done this to an adult, and think it would have been more or less l | | By: The Mighty Quinn Media Machine | | |
