As I reported yesterday Anibal Sanchez went to visit Dr James Andrews to have exploratory elbow surgery. The prognosis came back and Anibal underwent surgery for his torn labrum and will be shut down the rest of the season to heal. Via the Miami Herald…
Sanchez had surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will miss the remainder of the season. He won’t pick up a baseball for three to four months, and the best the Marlins can hope for is a full recovery for the start of the 2008 season.
Here’s to a quick recovery Anibal. When the Sox dealt Anibal they knew they were getting rid of an injury prone pitcher. This just makes the Josh Beckett deal look a tad nicer for them.
