| Shaq buys smart fortwo, wears as shoe | | 2008-08-06 05:13:00 | | Standing seven feet and one inches tall and weighing in at 375 pounds, Shaquille O'Neal is one big dude. Must drive a big 'ol car then, right? Umm, not exactly. The Phoenix Suns star center has recently been spotted in his newest automotive purchase, a smart fortwo. Seriously. And, surprisingly enough, he fits! Don't believe us? See above for photo proof. Well, so he sorta fits. It's a good thing that Shaq opted for the convertible, as his head comes up several inches over the top of the windshield. Oh, and we can find no real proof that the door has ever completely shut with Shaq inside. Just sayin'.[Sources: TMZ via MyRide.com]Tag: Economy, Etc., SMART, Celebrities, Humor... | | By: Car News | | |

| | HOW Many People Can Fit In A Smart Fortwo? | | 2008-06-30 08:39:14 | | Wow.
This is rather interesting.
From what I gather, the itty-bitty Smart Fortwo, which seats a grand total of…hmmm…two people, can actually fit 13. That’s, uh, a lot more than I expected.
This event was held to celebrate Smart’s 10th anniversary, and anyone could participate. The winners of the contest were a bunch of contortionists, and they managed [...]

| Thinking Small: Koenigseder wide-body Smart ForTwo | | 2008-06-27 11:43:00 | | "Wide-body" is a relative term. An SUV or a supercar decked out with a wide-body kit? Pimpin'. But a smart ForTwo? Well, it's wider, sure.
Koenigseder is known for modifying big SUVs, but with this kit it's gone decidedly smaller. The Austrian tuning house's package for the diminutive Smart car widens the body by over an inch, which we're not sure is so Smart for a vehicle designed to park sideways in tight spots. The kit also includes 17" rims, which look positively monstrous on such a tiny car, plus Eibach springs, an aero kit, some subtle floral decals and even environmentally-friendly floor mats. Check the action out in the gallery by clicking the thumbnails below.

| | Smart forTwo Cabrio Widebody by Konigseder | | 2008-06-22 10:06:00 | | If you are told about a widebody kit for the Smart forTwo Cabrio, you could be forgiven for having that quick glance over to the calendar checking if it is April 1st, but we have to say the experts over at Austrian tuner Konigseder have pulled it off with a great deal of success. The kit widens the model by an additional 30mm in each direction and consists of wheel arches housing new 17 inch wheels, side skirts and a restyled front bumper with larger air intakes and an additional lower spoiler. The rear stays largely unchanged but the rear wheel arches get extra air intakes for additional cooling for the brakes, the look is completed with a flowery (yes, that's flowery) exterior body artwork on its white livery. Beneath the bodywork, the forTwo has been left alone apart from a set Eibach sport springs which lower the overall ride height of the vehicle thus improving the driving dynamics.... | | By: Car Tuning Styling | | |
| | 2008 Smart ForTwo, Small but High Performance | | 2008-04-02 10:35:00 | | Are you hunting for a smaller and low gas-consumed vehicle ? Definite, the 2008 Smart Fortwo fit for your need. This cute and cuddly deux-seater from Mercedes-Benz has charisma and a certain kind of charm. It looks like it drove out of a cartoon with its Lego block colours. It's so darn cute; the pixie of putt-putts.I'm sorry, Mr. Penske, the man who has done more for Detroit without facing felony charges and the mastermind behind bringing the smart car to America; truth be known, the fortwo may look like a micro-champ, but it performs like a XXL chump. Please don't cancel the Grand Prix at Belle Isle. This quirky space saver with a name that looks like a Web site address will undoubtedly live well in a diminutive niche of eco-narcissists unable to afford a hybrid and people who find parking in tight spots more exhilarating than driving. But there are just too many other tiny cars for the same price that provide more utility, more space and significantly better performance on the road than... | | By: Autos Space | | |

| 2008 Lorinser smart fortwo | | 2008-01-08 12:59:01 | | (from Lorinser Press Release) Short for power Smart with 104 hp.There can be no doubt: the Smart Fortwo has what it takes to become a cult vehicle. Thanks to Sportservice Lorinser Smart owners will now rob drivers of other vehicles not only of their parking space but also of the pole position at the traffic light. The Swabian tuning firm was able to boost the performance of the three-cylinder turbo engine from 84 hp to 104 hp. Add to the mix a weight of less than 800 kilograms and a semi-automatic transmission that is much faster than the one built into its predecessor and you are talking about a vehicle that has dynamic road performance written all over it. Even the factory-tuned model is no match for this kind of performance. This rear-wheel powered vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in much less than 10 seconds and can go up to 180 km/h. Since the speed of the production model is electronically limited to 145 km/h, the Lorinser Smart upgrade also features an updated speedometer. After u... | | By: AutoBeat | blog Auto news, reviews, concepts, auto | | |
| | Italian magazine verifies Smart ForTwo CDi mileage figures | | 2007-11-29 18:55:29 | | When the second-generation Smart ForTwo entered production earlier this year, its EU mileage ratings put it at the top of the heap for internal combustion engined cars by a pretty wide margin. On the EU combined cycle the diesel version was rated at 71.3 mpg (US) with CO2 emissions of only 88 g/km. The Italian magazine Quattroruote decided to see if that was achievable in the real world. They laid out a 1,000 km route consisting of highways, traffic jams, mountain roads and urban settings in Rome, Balzano and Salzburg. The bottom line is that they consumed 33 L of diesel to cover the distance, matching the official ratings. [Source: Daimler] On a long journey of 1,000 km the Italian car magazine "Quattroruote" measured the fuel consumption of the smart fortwo cdi and confirmed the standard consumption of 3.3 litres per 100 kilometres. The current December issue of the magazine carries a report of the test drive.
