    2008-05-19 18:44:12
Last week we witnessed temperatures peaking at 90, and my gym is suddenly so full of people trying to get into shape for the beach that there's no doubt in my mind that summer is definitely here! And that means more sun, more barbecues and more cool and refreshing drinks. We celebrated the onset of summer with the luscious Rasperry Lassi, which is a fancy name for a smoothie or yoghurt cooler. Spinach Peach Smoothie
    2008-04-05 11:06:57
I woke up this morning, not from my alarm clock but from the singing, whistling and chirping birds from outside. When you here them, you know its spring time. And when you know it's spring, it's time to work-out, walking outside and soak up the sun and the warm of the weather. Uhhhhhh! BUT don't get to relaxed, it's also time to put more of a spring into action for working out and eating the greens.Spinach is a great source of iron from the Popeye knows best. If you don't like spinach cooked, eat it raw. A little bit on a sandwich, salad or in a smoothie. Yes I said 'SMOOTHIE'. I might look terrible but it taste good and refreshing. Never say no before you try it. I usually have this smoothie on weekends during my lunch time.Spinach Peach SmoothieHandful of clean baby spinachFrozen 1 large peach1 cup of cold waterice cubes1 T or t of Splenda or sugar1 StrawPut is all in a Hi-speed blender for a minute or two. For regular blenders, I would blend the spinach and water first, then the ice

    Smoothie
    2008-01-18 20:34:36

Cranberry-Soy Milk and Green Tea Smoothie
    2008-01-05 15:40:39
It is a well-known fact that breakfast is by far, the most important meal of the day. Consume a healthy and filling breakfast and it'll keep you on your toes for a significant part of the day. It not only kickstarts your body processes, but also fuels your nerve cells to prepare you for an action-packed morning! So it's imperative to include as many nutrients as you can in your early morning meal. The importance of cranberries for its anti-oxidant properties is known to most of us. Same is the case with green tea, but some of us find it hard to take in the herb tea by itself. So I decided to combine it in a smoothie. I love my smoothies to be milk-based or creamy, and given a choice I would happily add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to my concoctions:) but as we are trying to target a healthy meal, I opted for the soy-milk, which is way more easier to digest, is full of calcium and protein, and less in calorie content. Add a bit of honey and banana and you are all set for a hale and hearty breakfast smoothie!Ingredients1/2 cup frozen cranberries1 ripe banana1/2 cup brewed green tea1/4 cup plain soy milk2 tbsp light brown sugar or honeyMethodBrew the green tea using fresh leaves or tea-bags. Let it cool down a bit. Then blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy for a detoxifying, healthy and filling breakfast! This goes to Rajitha for her WBB-Soy Products event. Wish you all a happy and healthy morning!!Similar Recipes:Strawberry Colada SmoothieProtein-packed Peanut Butter-Banana SmoothiePlease visit the actual blogsite at http://funnfud.blogspot.com

    Some of My Smoothie Recipes
    2007-04-24 03:01:21
The photo in this entry is Reconciliation. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez.I began making my own smoothies because I didn't want to buy overpriced ones at certain places that were already formulated a certain way. I think making my own smoothies is cheaper and healthier. I know exactly what goes into them, and I have more control as far as portions for ingredients and the beverage itself. I also like blending. :D So I'd like to share some recipes of the smoothies I created as experiments that turned out real favorites with my family.Lynda's Berry Smoothie6 strawberries, sliced4 oz. whole blueberries3 whole blackberries1 small banana, sliced10 fl. oz.
