El afamado director a comprado a través de DreamWorks los derechos del famoso manga japones para su version cinematografica, que del mismo modo que Beowulf, estara en formato digital a través de la captura del movimiento de los actores reales, los cuales aun se desconocen.
"Ghost in the Shell" salio por primera vez a la luz en 1989 por su creador, Masamune Shirow, consiguiendo hasta hoy la creación de tres películas animadas, una serie de televisión, videojuegos, y volúmenes manga disponibles en todas las tiendas especializadas. Toda un franquicia.
La historia de este manga se plantea como un thriller futurista, que narra las misiones de espionaje de una Cyborg, con cuerpo artificialmente de mujer y mente humana, encargada de las operaciones encubiertas de la sección policial de seguridad publica "Sección 9", especializada en crímenes tecnológicos.Articulo de Lago de Barro.

I don’t know where to start with Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The jokey open would be something about listing the defects and not having any, but then flipping it and not being able to list everything Spielberg does right because his successes are so difficult to work out, particularly in to an easy-to-read, bullet-pointed list. Spielberg makes strange narrative choices in Close Encounters--to a point of confusion regarding the main storyline of the film... is it Richard Dreyfuss and his personal involvement or is it Francois Truffaut and his official involvement? While Dreyfuss probably has more screen time, quite a bit of that time is spent in expository scenes--introducing the UFOs to the audience, showing the experience of those affected--and then the ending is mostly told from the official point of view.
